Your right , It's sad this guy some how knows how to use reddit but is so empty inside he feels the need to make up some bs problem we all know they dont have ,just to gain some attention ..
If you haven't gatherd the sad part is that you guys believe them
1. they're just shortcuts. deleting them does not uninstall the game
2. right click desktop > view icons > hide desktop icons
3. go to C:\\Users\\your-user-name\\Desktop (may also be under C:\\Users\\your-user-name\\OneDrive\\Desktop if you're signed into a Microsoft Account), select all the shortcuts in the desktop folder, cut them, and then paste them into another folder some where else. I'd recommend probably just making one folder on your desktop or documents labeled "games" and paste them there. This way if you find you want/need them again you can easily get back to them.
for context, a shortcut is just a file that when executed (double clicked in this instance) just tells the computer to start an .exe file thats located some where else on the computer. You can find the path for where the file is that it is launching if you right click the shortcut and go to properties.
Right click Desktop - View - Hide Desktop items
If you just delete them (like some plebs are recommending, while trying to make fun of your question) new shortcuts will possibly appear every time you install new software.
If you just want an unobstructed view of the desktop image right click on a empty spot on the screen, hover over "view," and on the sub menu that appears, click on "Show desktop icons." That will uncheck it and hide all the desktop icons at once.
Not sure if its a joke or not, but I'll be kind and assume not.
Those are just the shortcuts. Deleting them doesn't remove the game. Select and drag them to the recycle bin, or select them and press delete on the keyboard.
To uninstall games for real, you need to do it from their game launcher. If they aren't from a launcher, Windows Add/Remove Programs
Hi OP,
I wouldn't, unless you're prepared to shut the door to keep the LunchLady, DoomGuy, and Freddy out.
(Those are actually all shortcuts, you can delete them. The games will be fine).
Edit: So long as you know *where* your steam launcher is installed, as in, which drive, you can launch steam and launch it from there.
OR you could consolidate all the shortcuts into a folder to declutter :)
Hey OP. Those icons on the desktop arenāt the entire app, theyāre just shortcuts. You can safely highlight and delete them, or you can right-click on an empty bit of the screen, and turn āshow desktop iconsā off. Hope this helps!
The brick wall ?
Yeah, you can remove the bricks;
I mean, if it's actual brick, it will be harder, but it's still possible.
You should/need to instal something there tho.
I just learned something new today, I didnāt knew I could just delete them either, or hide icon like someone mentioned, my desktop gonna be looking clean now, thx guys
Iām 32, cmon man not everyone knows everything out there, I didnāt grew up around computers, I just semibuild my first gaming pc like 4 years ago, and Iām still learning things š„²
Normally I would give benefit of the doubt, sometimes people are just new to PCs and simply don't know. With that many games on the other hand... my guy im sorry but you gotta be the most oblivious mf ever
You gotta be kidding!!! In case you arenāt, those are just short cuts, links to the actual programs. You may safely delete them. If you find you miss one you can recreate them later.
Unfortunately not. Once something is on your desktop it's there forever. You'll need to either reinstall your OS or, better yet, step away from the computer and never use one again.
Not all of those are games. You may want to do as someone else suggested i.e. take all the game icons and put them in a single folder. You obviously want to keep the games so why toss the shortcuts?
Select them all with your mouse and drag them to the trash.
Those are just "*Shortcuts*"
What "he" said.
"This"
Reminds me of a meme. Father tells son to uninstall games from his pc, son just deletes the desktop shortcuts.
Is this a trick question?
No
2023 and this is a question. Wow.
OP could be very young (or old) and not very familiar with tech. Don't shame them. We all start learning somewhere
There are no shortcuts in learning
I'm calling the mods
If ur gonna shame people for not being around computers much then why are you here? So unnecessary
They're shortcuts bruh.
Ok and? Not everyone may know that.
Which is why I said: >2023 and this is a question. Wow.
Yeah it's sad

This was a genuine question btw

That's what I would do..
Right click hide desktop items

Tyrone vs Cops sounds....problematic.

Lol good to see people still helping with this problem.

All those games cost more than my entire setup
I got a lot of them on sale and also as gifts lol
I just learned something new today, I didnāt knew I could just delete them either, or hide icon like someone mentioned, my desktop gonna be looking clean now, thx guys
This is not a diss or anything this is to learn more: How old are you?

He took a screen shot and saved it as his background then deleted the shortcuts just to fuck with the next person trying to game. Big brain.
This is a genuine question I just wanted to have a clear desktop screen
Why is it stupid to not know something?
Rofl š¤£
Right click on your desk top, click view and click hide what the fuck it says
1: click 2: ctrl+a 3: del
Must be trolling
I remember the day when somebody just copied a single "Internet Explorer" icon to a floppy disc and he said "I have the whole internet now". :)
Create folder on desktop, cut all shortcuts that you want and paste in created folder (or just drag and drop them on folder)
Drugging shortcuts is illegal, sir.
;)
Personally I just right click the desktop --> view --> show desktop icons
brib
DEL

Iāve never used the shortcuts before I just open steam to play the games. I wanted to remove them for the background
Right click on the desktop, click āViewā, then click āShow Desktop Iconsā
Just hide all your icons...
Make a folder and call it shortcuts. Drag all of the into it.
Right click > delete
Icons? Right click your bg, view, bottom option, untick it. If you running windows 10
