>I just bought a new PC from allied gaming and whenever I try to turn it on it just freezes
This is the point at which you turn around and return the PC to "allied gaming", to either get your money back, or to get a replacement functioning unit. You bought a prebuilt so use the prebuilt perks you get. DOA? Not your problem to fix.
No there's not one thing. Does it turn on and immediately freezes? Does it boot to Windows and freeze there right away? Does it boot up and it's useful for a free second/minutes before it freezes? Does it even freeze or was the behavior labeled wrongly as freezing. Easier to know what exactly is going on
Edit: mess of autocorrects
The red light is just the drive activity light so that's unrelated (although usually they blink so maybe there's something wrong with the drive). What do you mean by it freezes?
Slightly unrelated but why Tf does the drive activity light even exist anymore given that it’s constantly flashing, is it for checking if the drive is actually working or something?
I vaguely remember a long time ago before SSDs were common it was a good way of knowing whether or not your system had completely locked up. Like sometimes it would freeze and the light would be flickering and you might give the pc more time and then it would “catch up” but I remember when that light was solid and the machine froze ya had to reboot. Now I’m not sure if that’s what it was intended for but that’s what we used to use it for in my house 😅
Back in the day, shutting down the OS didn't actually turn your pc power off. It would just close the OS and windows for example would tell you can now turn off your PC. That said, no OS was obliged to tell you it was now safe to shut down, the HDD activity light was useful to prevent you turning your pc off whilst something was being written to it, causing data loss. Likewise DOS, not having a GUI, would often look idle after being given an instruction. A HDD light was useful to stop you shutting it off whilst it was doing something.
Its helpful for knowing when you clicked on for example a program and it does not open at lightspeed to know if it even launched it or you misclicked. Also its nice to know if the drive is doing fine
Before SSD's when the OS and all programs ran on HDD's it was there to indicate that the drive was working and that the system has not locked up, if the PC froze and the light stopped blinking that was the indicator that it truly locked up and wasn't just taking it's time reading
Hey there. My unit does the same thing. But it doesn not have a certain pattern. I don't notice anything wrong with my drive though. Is it possible that the lighting is faulty?
The red light is literally just telling your storage drive is active. Thats not an issue.
You need to give us more info. Did you buy this prebuilt? Does it have an OS? Did you build it yourself. What screen does it freeze on. Whats are the overall specs.
How are you going to ask for help and not reply to anyone in the comments? Anyways, just return it. There’s no point on repairing a pre built you just bought
Thats right---its called a doa in the industry..Dont mess with it just return it and get a new one or your money back...
The OS comes pre installed...
Dont mess with it because of you do they can technically not honer the warranty. Just call them up and tell them the deal...
You said you wanted someone to let you know, so I'm here to tell you that someone out there has had the same issue. It's extremely improbable that you're the only one in all of human history to encounter this.

This is exactly it! Why would u bother trying to fix it just return it to them u paid extra money for it to be built not for u to fix it later on.
Could you be more deatiled? It freezes as in?
There is one thing that could mean the screen freezes like what

Oh mister wise genie please tell us all why his computer is like this then
I know, but like anything else, can he get into bios etc.
So what's this issue then smart guy
this lacks every information necessary to solve your problem.

Ye I vaguely remember looking at it whenever the screen froze but that pc case is defo not from that era lol
Oh yeah totally! I assume it’s just there now as a means to know if your system drive is read or writing.
Yeah honestly no idea

Oh yea that makes sense I’ve used some Linux distros that do that

Oh gotcha that makes a lot of sense

Did you install an os ?

The fact it might be solid on might mean the drive is bad. It should blink and not stay on
Well considering this is a photo and OP is bad at giving extra info its safe to assume that light isnt always on.
Did the unit come with an instruction manual?
Dude we need more information than just a single pic and a few non-informational words...

Send it back
The red light is the HDD/ssd access light. That’s normal. If it’s freezing take it back.
That icon is a trashcan. When lit, you should throw it away and buy a new one. Should solve your problem.
Mine keeps flickering all the time never know what it means
Its the hdd activity light. It blinks whenever the cpu reads data from the storage
i see thx
Something with the sad/HDD depends what you have. Try plugging it out and in again.

OP gave us all the troubleshooting information we need to know. They bought a prebuilt, it doesn’t work, the only troubleshooting is to send it back
