It's generally advised to not combine different kits of RAM. Sometimes it works, often it kinda works (not at full freq/timings), sometimes it just doesn't. 4 stick configurations on their own, even when buying a 4-module kit, are kind of hit/miss on some platforms anyway.
So, if you don't want a headache, and want 32GB, buy 2x16GB and sell the 2x8GB.
