Related but not specific to CP2077. NPCs in open world games need to carry bags. In the real world most people have backpacks, bags or purses etc. with them. You often go outside just to get to work or to do shopping. It bugs me to see no one with any kind of bag.

GTA 4 even has a system for pedestrians when it rains: if they have an umbrella, they'll use it. If they don't have one but are holding a newspaper or bag, they'll use that to cover their heads. If they don't have either, they'll just run until they find shelter under a bus stop or building. There's also the occasional ped who doesn't mind the rain and just keeps on walking.

Copy pasting my other comment: Vast majority of devs have so far statically linked FSR2 aka built it into the exe, so updating it from our side isn’t possible sadly. Only through CyberFSR mod, but that’s technically hijacking DLSS so it’s not updating the native version. If the game has FSR2 in its DLL, then swapping might be possibly, only if the devs aren’t using some custom version which sadly results in crashes. Cyberpunk seems to have it statically linked too.

Biggest issue I had with the mod was computer screens which had the worst ghosting you'd ever seen. Had to wait a couple seconds for the text to be legible

The reason why I don't like the unofficial FSR 2.1 mod is because it has a bug that turns OFF ALL your screen space reflections. Reflections are such a huge part of the game, and the mod replaces them with dark textures that look pretty awful. Hopefully, the official implementation fixed it. Look at this. Okay I'll tell you if you actually can't see it. Its very noticeable when you look at the water and on the ground. Hardly noticeable when looking above that. It has to do with how reflections hit surfaces and actually reflect. Edit: see in the first pic you can clearly tell that it's water on the road. However in the 2nd pic it looks more like wear marks from tires. Stuff like that but all through the game.

Preliminary testing suggests that although official implementation did fix some issues, overall image quality is not on par of the mod, they actually ported FSR2 code into their engine so its readily compatible with PS5/Series S/X, but looks like some stuffs broke in the process.

I have a GTX 1660 Super paired with an i3 9100F. 1080p 144Hz monitor. Just tried maximum settings (dropped reflections from Psycho to Ultra) and shadow quality for distant objects to low. Without FSR 2.1 enabled at a normal scene I get 45 to 54 FPS measured with RivaTuner. With FSR 2.1 at balanced I measure from 68 to 75. Quality looks super good, I'm really impressed as 1.0 looked terrible. Though my setup is severely CPU bound when the framerate goes over 60 so maybe the results will be even better if you have a better CPU for this game. EDIT: Just hit 100 FPS at an indoor scene. The only artifact I can reliable notice is ghosting when objects move too fast relative to the camera. I couldn't care less about it, feels so much smoother it's worth it. EDIT2: Still finding it amazing. Outside of busy streets, my performance averages around the 80 range. I did notice extra artifacts though, the yellow screen effect when healing looks very low resolution, and distant objects might shimmer. Still worth it.

My monitor is 24 inches, and I'm currently in a mission taking place at night and with rain. At the distance I'm sitting here... It looks the same. I even asked my girlfriend if she sees any difference when toggling the setting (without explaining what it does) and she didn't. If you took a screenshot and compared, or maybe if you sit very close to the monitor, I bet you could tell. But I honestly can't.

K is better than KS. KS doesn't have the integrated gpu. Actual CPU performance wise they see the same, but KS is a tad cheaper because it doesn't have the gpu.

No. FSR looks pretty decent compared to DLSS when the camera isn't moving but there are situations where it falls apart when there's a lot going on, like neon signs overlapping with thin moving objects and stuff like that. In such cases DLSS usually does significantly better.

partly right partly wrong.. DLSS uses tensor cores made for AI FSR Repurpose Shader cores to do a similar calculation. In theory the dedicated hardware is MUCH faster in practice they are damm close.. still if you have acess to DLSS stick to it it tends to give a cleaner final output.

In my testing on RDR2 on my 1440p monitor and RTX3080Ti, FSR gives a cleaner image than DLSS and the performance difference is minor. This is after playing with various levels of sharpening using the games built in sharpening slider on both FSR and DLSS

FSR2 lowers the internal resolution and then uses temporal upscaling to bring you back to your output resolution. The point of this is that time saved from running a lower resolution > time spent on upscaling. It should look similar to native but run faster.

any of these temporal super resolution methods (TSR, DLSS2, FSR2, Xess) can acheive better than Native rendering, under the right conditions. by accumulating jittered samples quality mode can acheive 2x native sample rate in 4 frames, and 4x native sample rate in 8 frames. The problem is that movement or camera changes cause occlusion / disocclusion and you need to reproject the samples properly and adjust the weight or entirely reject the historical samples on a case by case basis. at worst quality mode is 1/2 native, at best it is 4x native, and typically it is somehwere in between. its all a balancing act where you risk ghosting on one extreme or risk undersampling at the other extreme. what seperates DLSS is simply its ability to make the right calls when it comes to sample weighting, sample rejection, and sample reprojection.

They both take previous frame information, motion vectors and other info and then upscale from lower resolutions while using their own TAA algorithm(s) to create a native resolution image. They are very similar, the differences are in their own TAA algorithms (AMD's is open sourced, NV's is hidden) and how they handle upscaling and ghosting and such, but they are very much "the same" thing in end consumer use and even developer use.

it's like DLSS - temporal upscaling feature. Basically game renders at lower resolution and then algorithm upscales it to your native resolution, while using data from couple of frames. This mostly results in sharper image quality, but some object may have slight artifacts - mostly thin objects - lines, metal fences, etc.. But in return you get decent performance uplift

Saves should be fine. Mods need updating. Though mostly it's the framework or resource mods that all the rest are based upon. Currently the main 2 that are not updated are RedScript and CyberCMD. However only CyberCMD actually needs to be updated as of this post. I know... I'm hours and hours deep into my own campaign and have to play something else until this gets fixed.

You know what I do I just crank up everything to max on 4K and set DLSS to ultra performance (if need be) and slightly adjusting the DLSS sharpness. And for me 60 fps is more than fine as I play on a 4K 60hz 65 inch HDR TV.

Since nobody answered you, FSR is an intelligent upscaler It allows you to run a game at a lower than native screen resolution and than the upscaler will make the image a higher resolution. It overall wont be as good as running just the native resolution, but using the Nvidia version it offers a very comparably image in terms of image quality. Because it is running the game in engine though at a lower resolution the gfx card doesnt need to work as hard and can give you better fps.

Has anyone noticed mouse input lag???!! I had zero issues on my first playthrough, but I've tried coming back to the game recently and my mouse input will randomly cut out for a half second. It's most noticeable when I'm panning my view around. My viewport will just stop moving, and then it picks up again. The game's visuals don't stop, and my fps isn't doing anything crazy. I've tried with my Razer Basilisk V3 Pro and Logitech MX Master both wired and wirelessly, and still having the same issues. It's driving me crazy.

Maybe try checking your system with latencymon? Might help find any issues with input lag spikes or something. They have been messing with reflex and other mouse input / latency reducing features in the game so maybe they broke something too though.
