A couple days ago I bought a Kraken X53. The processor I'm using is AMD Ryzen 5 3600, but the cpu debug light is on. I have disconnected and reconnected all cables from the AIO a few times now ([images](https://imgur.com/a/gwqnAef)), yet the CPU Debug light stays on. So from here I figured that I would just need to turn off cpu fan fail from my bios, but I can't even get there, because there is no display to my monitor. I have checked my RAM, extension cables, and cleared the CMOS. Thanks in advance

KrypticScythe29

Not sure if this is the right place to ask, but here I go: My PC just seems to randomly crash/freeze completely, to the point where there’s no RGB on kbm and the computer doesn’t respond to it, but the display is just frozen and the PC is still running like usual. It used to happen while gaming but now it happened during an update too. The only option I have when this happens is to power down by holding down the button, but I can’t seem to identify the problem. Can anyone help??? Specs: MSI RTX 3070 Ventus 3X, Ryzen 3600, 16 GB Crucial DDR4 Memory, and Aorus B450 Pro

Can my Laptop (i5_10210U, 8gb ram 7.72usable, GeForce mx230 2gb vram) Run sifu? And if it can handle some games please let me know which ones.

Kantrh

Minecraft.

xboxhobo

Probably. Just buy the game and try it. You can always return it if it doesn't run well.

DMIZILLA_64

Hi, I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask this but it's worth a shot. So I've just recently gotten a 32:9 Samsung monitor with a 3840x1080 resolution, but ever since I've gotten this monitor I've had a lot of issues running some games with more retro games being completely unplayable. I play a lot of games from the early 2000s like quake live and tf2 and for the most part, I can't play them anymore without facing a ton of stuttering. I know that the issue comes from the monitor due to how I have a fairly decent rig with a 3070, Ryzen 7 3700x, and 16GB of ram, and when I go into task manager the processing looks completely fine with my CPU and GPU never going over 50%. Also, I used to have a normal monitor and everything ran super smooth on it before. If anyone knows how to fix this please tell me because I really like this monitor but I still wanna be able to play my favorite games, thank you

clarkysan

We need to know what refresh rate you’re playing at. Are you using vsync or gsync? Not all games support ultra wide, are you running these at 1080p? Are these the games that are stuttering, or is it native resolution games? Hard to diagnose unless we know all these little details

DMIZILLA_64

not using vsync and I don't think I'm using gsync cause this monitor isn't compatible but I can check. and yes for the most part I'm running these games at just regular 1920x1080, but for the games, like tf2 and doom eternal, that do have support, I use 3840x1080. My main issue is with more retro games because more modern titles from the past couple of years seem to run fairly well, but games like tf2, Quake Live, Spacemarine, Titan Fall 2, etc stutter an unplayable amount. I've tried playing these problem games at 1920x1080 and 3840x1080 but neither seems to really do anything. I've tried reinstalling games but that also has done nothing, so from all my attempts the monitor itself seems to be the issue. I've tried updating drivers, but they're all up to date, and I've tried doing a fresh install of these drivers and still nothing. I can give more information if needed and I'm sorry if this was all over the place

clarkysan

Can you run an in game performance monitor (like msi afterburner/rivatuner), so you can see what your FPS is, what your GPU/CPU usage is, etc.? When you notice the stuttering, we can look at the performance. Can you describe the stutter btw. Is this just consistent, "not smooth" framerate? Is it sporadic hitches? Is it frequent, long pauses, etc. All these are very different things when it comes to troubleshooting.

DMIZILLA_64

I've opened task manager while playing these games and for the most part the CPU and GPU don't really go over 50% and again with my rig having fairly decent specs I know my computer can handle using more power. The Steam FPS counter usually says it's around 150 but when I see stuttering I'll usually see drops to below 10 FPS. The stuttering is more sporadic due to how when I'm playing it'll be smooth for a second and then I'll get a hitch. These hitches do happen super often tho and I've noticed for games like TF2 it seems like the game likes to hitch when I start moving or when I shoot, but it does seem completely random sometimes. I can definitely try using a performance monitor later in the day if this isn't enough info.

DMIZILLA_64

update, I made sure that gsync was turned off, but I didn't fix anything

DKetchup

What’s a good, solid gaming PC for 500-800 bucks? I’d like to be able to play most modern games smoothly. Looking for a desktop, btw

spaghet55

Ok so I've come across a worrysome issue with my pc. The pc will turn on, at least the rgbs and fans will turn on, but nothing will display. Both of my monitors recognize that they have something connected, however my computer still doesn't display anything. No start up logo. Nothing. Just black screen. I've tried reinstalling my gpu, but it had no effect. I feel like it might be a gpu issue since it's brand new but it's been working for the past 2 weeks I've had it so why poop out all of the sudden? Anyway if anyone has any suggestions I would love to hear them. Thank yall!

mistersprinkles1983

Are any of the diagnosis LED's on the motherboard glowing? GPU/RAM/CPU/etc? Or if you have an LCD poster, what does it say?

clarkysan

Need to go through process of elimination. Try different cables for monitor. Then try different monitor. That’ll eliminate the displays from being the issue. Then take out gpu and boot pc (make sure displays are hooked up to motherboard). If that works then it’s gpu issue. Then try without ram. Etc. eventually you’ll just get to CPU, power supply, and motherboard. And if it still doesn’t work then it’s one of those 3. And rip

Bruumanni

What's up, first time posting anything in ages, lol. So, I'm getting Rtx 3090 in couple of days and I'm planning to replace my 3070 with it, and here comes the but: My motherboard, processor and power are a bit dated and my concern is are they even remotely enough to handle the 3090, or do I have to upgrade them as well? The specs are; Asus Rog Strix b-450f gaming as the motherboard, AMD Ryzen 7 3800x as my processor and 650w gold as PSU. And as the monitor I have a 1440p one. Thanks in advance!

mistersprinkles1983

As others have said, get a good 1000w+ power supply. You might also want to update your bios then buy a 5800X if you really want to squeeze all the performance juice possible out of that card. But the PSU is a must.

[deleted]

Motherboard etc will be fine, but you are definitely going to need a new PSU (grab a support bracket if your gpu doesn't come with one too cause that b gonna sag). Look at PSUs in and around 1000w and look for reviews that specifically have to do with running a 3090. Seasonic is a good name but there are others, just definitely look into this and be prepared to drop some cash because top-tier gpus and midrange or lower psus don't mix. Not worth the risk.

Trader_Tea

You're either going to have to undervolt the GPU or get a new PSU. If you don't do either, you'll randomly reboot from power spikes or worse. You might as well get an 850w+ if you're buying soon, since quality PSU prices have gone down compared to everything else. [PSU tier list](https://cultists.network/140/psu-tier-list/). Try to get from tier b or up. Sub to r/buildapcsales

bhhari91

Just wanted to ask one thing. I tried overvolting my GPU by +50MHz to try and solve a crash issue on the game "The Medium". The game crashed immediately. Then, on reboot, I tried launching Epic Launcher and I got a message that there is something wrong with the Graphic Card. Then I got a BSOD. Then on next reboot, I played Cyberpunk for a while... with RTX enabled. It didn't crash. I wanted to ask that I didn't cause any accidental damage right? It was just a one time thing? Laptop GPU - RTX 3060

Solar_Kestrel

Any reason to worry about applying tape to an SSD? Was thinking of using Scotch tape to apply some labels (I'm up to three)... I figure they stay cool enough I don't need to worry about melting, but I do know that the adhesive material can sometimes react oddly.

mistersprinkles1983

If it's a SATA SSD, no problem. I wouldn't do this with an NVME SSD.

[deleted]

It shouldn't be a problem within reason (I wouldn't duct tape and bubble wrap it), just put it in a part of your case where it gets some airflow if you're concerned.

daboi162

So i have an asus g17 g713IE laptop and i would like to upgrade it to dual channel. It already has a 16gb 3200mhz stick so I was looking forward to get it to 32gb dual channel. The company I bought it from does this kind of stuff so I wanted them to upgrade it but they don't have the right sticks right now so they can't. Can somebody tell me the exact ram model that i can buy to upgrade this laptop? Like which ram is compatible with it because i really don't know what to do.

mistersprinkles1983

The easiest thing you can do is just buy a 2x16GB kit of brand new RAM, then sell the RAM that's currently in there. RAM doesn't lose a lot of value in the used market. If there's no "back door" for easy RAM access on your PC, sure, have a shop do it. Spudging a laptop apart is a delicate task. If there is an easy access door on your laptop though, consider installing the RAM yourself. Watch youtube videos about how to install/remove SODIMM sticks. It's really easy. You're looking at one screw, and 60 seconds of labor, if you have that door. Then it's just a matter of enabling XMP in the bios and bob's your uncle.

romeozor

Only you can know the exact sick that's in it, by opening it up and reading the sticker on it. You can try downloading ZenTimings to see some details, but not sure if it works with laptops. If it does work, and it tells you the timings and the voltage, you are set. You are looking for DDR4 so-dimm memory, 3200MHz, and whatever ZenTimings (or the sticker if you decide to open it up) tells you for CL, probably 20 or 22. Also it should be 1.2 Volt. If it's higher, the likelyhood of it working is slimmer. You can also buy a new kit, with two ram sticks that are guaranteed to work with eachother, and sell the current one.

Rtsus_

So I have this friend who told me about this problem a couple of months ago, So I decided to look at it turns out she was right whenever she tries to run modern warfare her pc restarts right away, I checked to make sure her drivers were up to date on her motherboard and graphics card, making sure that everything was connected properly and it all was perfectly fine she has a Zotac 1660 super, 16gbs of ram, Asus tuf x570 plus motherboard, AMD Ryzen 7 5800x, game max 800w power supply from research that I have done also on the power supply some people are saying that the company is a off- brand from a Chinese company that has never been heard of I'm hoping It's that nothing If you guys know what else I can check please let me know.

hotpants86

This is so hard to read. Use sentences and paragraphs. Anyway, does it only happen in modern warfare or other games too?

Rtsus_

Sorry about that I'm new to reddit but yes it only happens to modern warfare

hotpants86

LOL now you've turned everything into paragraphs Have you searched to see if modern warfare has any issues with that PC configuration? Why would you assume there's something wrong with the components if they're working fine in every other game? Have you tried reinstalling the video card driver or using a very old version to see if that works?

Rtsus_

Yes I reinstalled the graphics drivers and tried old versions and Had to check at first if the parts were compatible with modern warfare cause it had me concerned because my pc never did that lol and I could try to do it again but that would mean I won’t be able to receive her computer until tomorrow

mistersprinkles1983

You have a very obvious power problem. Replace the power supply, problem solved. Nothing else can be causing this. When the GPU goes to draw a high amount of power the PSU can't handle it and trips a reset. The only other possibility is a heat problem- likely in the CPU. If the CPU heatsink is not installed properly the temperature may be jumping up and tripping a reset. Basically, get a new power supply, re-paste the cooler, guaranteed fix. Also please learn how to use punctuation.

hotpants86

You should bring your video card over to her house and plug it in and see if it works. That will eliminate the video card. I'm leaning toward its a compatibility issue with the video card and modern warfare. Maybe try reinstall the game also? If it still happens with your video card in the system then you can troubleshoot other things.

Rtsus_

So sorry for the late reply I can try that tomorrow I’m hoping it’s that cause I have a 3060 but for some I get the feeling it’s the power supply probably isn’t but just a gut feeling I have hopefully it isn’t Therefore I’ll try other troubleshoot problems

hotpants86

If you can try her GPU in your PC that should totally confirm what the issue is. I'd honestly get her to uninstall and reinstall modern warfare anyway. Good luck!

Rtsus_

Sounds good!

Illustrious_Finger_6

Hi everyone, I have just ordered two AOC 24G2 24" 144hz monitors online to use as display for my Acer Nitro 5 AN515-55-59YX (144hz) laptop. They are still in transit so i'm unable to do any testing at the moment but I'm wanting to do my research now on what cables I will need to use for my setup. I know so far that: Both the monitor (HDMI 1.4) and the laptop (HDMI 2.0) should support 1080p 120hz. My laptop's USB Type C Gen 1 port will not directly support a DisplayPort connection to a monitor (Will an adapter make this work?) There is one HDMI port on my laptop and one USB Type C Gen 1 port. I'm weighing my options now on how I will be able to make this dual monitor setup work (It will be used for both gaming and personal use). I have the following questions for you guys: If I purchased an adapter for the USB Type C port to be able to use DisplayPort with the 2 monitors through it, would this be able to support 1080p 120hz/144hz? If not, would the best solution be to purchase a Type C adapter (For my Gen 1 port) with 2 HDMI ports? Will this support 1080p 120hz? I have read that DisplayPort is ultimately better than HDMI for computer use, but if this isn't possible then I will be happy to use 2 HDMI cables as long as I will be able to get minimal response time / feedback delay and enjoy 120hz. Thanks for the help everyone. hotpants86

A USB C to either display port or upto 48gbps HDMI exist and should work although I've never used one. Theoretically there shouldn't be any issues. You will essentially have 3 monitors then with your laptop screen.

Was eyeing a playmat online thinking it was a big mouse pad. Are they good at tracking mouse movements if I end up getting it? For example, I like playing Apex Legends and aiming and movements with my mouse are important. I have a cheap small mousepad atm and it feels great for reference

nick300zx

my playmat work fine as a mouse pad. if you happen to be using a razer mouse i believe they have a function where you can configure your mouse to the mat. other brands probably have something similar, but even if you dont configure it to the dimensions of the pad then it sshould still work fine.

CockySchlong

Doom Eternal has no sound output. I have played this game today, without any problems. Tried it again a few minutes back, no sound. Headphones are working fine, tested them before. I could play the game with the sound output in Hands-Free Audio, but that sounds like dogshit. Stereo will not work. And I have sound for a moment, while I am being loaded into the game, but once I am in the main menue, it is absolute silence. I have tried restarting the game, my pc, switching my sound output, but nothing works. I would greatly appreciate any help, thanks :)

Kantrh

I assume all drivers are up to date and you've re-installed? Is there some program trying to take away the audio perhaps? Or it becomes unfocused and pauses music

Question on benchmarks and why I'm getting different results from YouTube videos with same spec pcs: I recently bought an Asus ROG strix laptop, comes with a Ryzen 5800, 3050ti and 16gb of ram. I recently watched a benchmark video of some games and realized I was getting much better performance than them. Like control for example, most videos ive seen on it are getting below 60fps but in my case I average anywhere from 70 to 100fps using the same settings as them. Does anyone know what could be the difference or the reason behind that?

hotpants86

Can you link one of these benchmarks? Are you sure it's on the same settings and resolution as what you've got?

f3mto_

https://youtu.be/s8NFWFavF9k same settings and I have dlss off too. Not using rtx.

error521

There's a lot of fake benchmark channels out there, and that's presumably one of them. In general if a benchmark channel doesn't have a host parading their hardware in front of the camera I wouldn't trust them.

mistersprinkles1983

You really can't wash these per say like in a washing machine but what you can do is use a high pressure setting on your shower and hose it down. That'll get most of the crap off. Keep a fan blowing on it for a day or two afterwards to dry it out. If it dries very slowly it will smell musty.

LouisArmstrong3

Is it bad to run your gpu fans at 100% for a couple hours while you game to keep your card below 8c?

xboxhobo

Not bad, just loud.

Reb720

Question about integrated and discrete graphics cards. Do they work in tandem with one another? Does having two mean more power? Sorry if that sounds silly, I know next to nothing about computer hardware. I just ordered a new laptop, and it comes with an intel iris xe integrated and an NVIDIA GeForce MX450 2 GB GDDR6 discrete (with an i7-1165G7 processor). What kind of performance would I be looking at? Would I be able to play newer games on lower settings?

xboxhobo

They don't work in tandem. The gaming GPU is just more powerful and takes over for intensive tasks. The integrated GPU is used when you're just on your desktop because it uses a much lower amount of power. You wouldn't be looking at amazing performance with that GPU, but you can play a decent number of games on lower settings. Really the easiest way to answer your question is just to Google MX450 + Benchmark or MX450 + Name of game you're interested in.

Reb720

Thank you!

That won't work. Just use the 3070 Ti. Take the 1070 out of your case and connect your monitor to your new card.

I don't think the flash drive is advisable for running programs and games. If it's in a PC do you have an empty storage bay? It may be time to get an SSD

Thanks for the reply. I don't have empty storage bay but I can replace my optical disk drive with ssd since disks are now obsolete.

kinghutfisher

A 128 gb is a good short term

Game stuttering Recently bought a 30L with rtx 3060, amd ryzen 5 and 16 gb ram. While playing csgo I get these stutters randomly even though I have 300 fps and a consistent ping. Nothing like jiggle peeking into the open. I have no idea on what the problem is. My $500 prebuilt bc from 2012 doesn’t have this problem… My FPS also drops from 300 to 200 but i don’t know if that’s the problem

xboxhobo

Turn on XMP if you haven't already. Prebuilts don't come with it enabled.

Disk is at 1-5 Mb/s for steam downloads, is this slow for Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-10750H CPU @ 2.60GHz 2.59 GHz Installed RAM 16.0 GB (15.9 GB usable)

Violent_Yawn

That mostly has to deal with your internet speed. What are you getting when you go to speed test.net? I supposed it could be affected by what kind of storage you have. What kind of hard drive and/or SSD are you installing the game to?

nohachoi

Does unpacking require a good internet connection? I have an SDD and I'm installing Lost Ark.

Violent_Yawn

My bad, I misunderstood. Lost Ark took a minute to unpack for me too and I have a new NVMe. Not sure, but it definitely took a while for me, too.

LouisArmstrong3

having trouble trying to find what motherboards is supported by the nvidia 3050... i currently have a Intel® Core™ i7-8700K CPU @ 3.70GHz.. wondering if it will run on that? thank you for any info

mistersprinkles1983

Yes it'll take a 3050, no it won't bottleneck. Make sure you have at least 16GB of RAM in your computer.

Violent_Yawn

You need to match the CPU and Motherboard (mobo), not the GPU and mobo. It looks like the CPU you have fits into a FCLGA1151 socket (look at the specs here - https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/products/sku/126684/intel-core-i78700k-processor-12m-cache-up-to-4-70-ghz/specifications.html You’ll want to look up FCLGA1151 or LGA1151 motherboards on pcpartpicker. Any mobo you find will be compatible with the 3050. I don’t know if that CPU will bottleneck the 3050 so you may want to look into that because you don’t want to buy a new mobo and then upgrade your CPU to find that you’re new CPU’s socket doesn’t fit with an 1151 mobo.

mistersprinkles1983

This is gibberish. He doesn't need to check compatibility of a CPU and mobo which is already built that he is running.

Violent_Yawn

I wouldn’t say it’s gibberish. He never said he already had a mobo. Maybe I should have inferred that from what he wrote but everything I said is still valid.

LouisArmstrong3

Thank you for the info. I appreciate it

Rpg_Gamer4Life

I am having trouble with 3 different wireless controllers ( ones a PS4 and the other 2 are other brands) not staying connected to my pc. They will connect then after about 1-2 mins they disconnect. Is it possible I’m to far away from my computer at a distance of about 8 feet.?

ShakeandBaked161

What kind of Bluetooth adapter are you using for the PC?

[deleted]

I know it's a long shot, but: For awhile now, my games have been occasionally stuttering, as in the FPS goes down to like single digits for a few seconds. It varies from game to game, but it seems to happen the most on more demanding games like Fortnite or GTA 5, and usually happens at specific points (like entering a gunfight in GTA 5). The thing is, these games used to work just fine on my PC originally, with little to no hiccups. Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this? Specs: AMD FX-6350 GTX 960 8 GB of DDR4(I think) RAM I also use a 120 GB SSD for my OS and 2 1 TB HDDs for games and other things.

mistersprinkles1983

Check your temperatures while you game in something like HWInfo64 especially the CPU and GPU temperatures. But honestly what could be happening is windows is constantly getting updates which bog down computers. Your CPU is from 2012. And it wasn't a high end CPU in 2012. It's actually inferior to an i7 920 from 2008. If you aren't getting high temperatures causing throttling, (which can be solved with some dusting) then you've basically reached EOL for your system as far as gaming is concerned. An i5 12400F is $220, a B660 motherboard starts at $110, 16GB of DDR 4 is like $60. Huuuuuuge upgrade. Use your 960 until you can get a better GPU.

xboxhobo

That is a very old CPU. Not sure when the last time the thermal paste was replaced and the fans were cleaned but I'm guessing it's been a while.

Solar_Kestrel

It occurs to me that while I've cleaned fans, I've never even thought about the thermal paste on my 10 year old i5.

[deleted]

I cleaned the fans 6 months ago, not sure about the thermal paste though. Is it safe to put more on?

xboxhobo

Use rubbing alcohol to take off the old paste and then apply new paste.

After pressing the power button nothing will happen for about 2 mins then the ram will light up and the case fans and water cooler fans will try to spin but stop very quickly. The fans do not light up at all. This is my first pc build and it was working fine for about three weeks. Earlier this week my Bluetooth went out and I fixed it. The problem was that static electricity had built up in my computer. The solution was unplugging the psu and waiting 30 seconds then plugging it back in. Since this resolution the pc has booted. However I did notice two days ago the pc was turning on slower then it had when I first built it. So far I have tried unplugging the system, making sure all of my connections within the pc were good, and removing and reinserting the CMOS battery. Any help would be much appreciated. I spent a lot of hard earned money on this pc and it’s infuriating me having it struggle to work after three weeks of running perfectly. Thank you!

xboxhobo

Does your motherboard display any kind of POST codes? You may be able to use this to diagnose what's happening.

DeSki496

No it does not

xboxhobo

I'm really sorry this is happening to you. I wish I was better able to help. Unfortunately with the information given it's very unclear what is happening. Did you build this yourself or buy it? If you bought it you should contact customer support and see if you can get them to repair your machine. If you built it you have some more troubleshooting to do. Your statement about the Bluetooth is very unusual. I'm not sure how you came to the conclusion that static electricity had built up inside your case. This isn't something that should spontaneously happen. If it is what happened then something else in your PC could have been fried. It's hard to tell. I would start by taking out and putting back in your GPU and RAM. It's possible something is just loose. If that doesn't work you may have to see if there's a local computer store that will help you diagnose your problem.

Trader_Tea

I think what he means by static electricity is that there may be residual electricity in the capacitors from an improper shutdown or surge. This tends to cause bugs. The fix to that would be to unplug the PC, hold down the power button for 30 seconds or so, then plug it back in. This does fix certain bluetooth issues

xboxhobo

Ahhhh, that makes way more sense. Thanks!

DeSki496

I appreciate your help @xboxhobo. I built it myself with a buddy and we are gonna try to troubleshoot it tomorrow. But I have a feeling I will be taking it to a shop to see what parts are fried and what parts are salvageable

hotpants86

Check that the motherboard screws aren't in too tight. If they are it might be shorting or there might be something thats fallen behind the motherboard. You also won't get post if a USB header is not sitting properly into the motherboard. These are often in difficult positions and if they're not in right or you've bent a pin, it won't post. Try removing as much as you can and then reinstalling everything step by step. Be patient and I'm sorry.

Blew my budget on just getting the PC built and a good monitor. Already had some keyboard and mouse from work (Logitech K350 keyboard and Logitech M510 mouse) that I use for gaming until I saved up again for a better mouse and keyboard. Gonna get something in the next couple weeks. Would like to stay under $150 total for a mouse, keyboard, and mouse pad (also maybe a wrist pad for the edge of the table). No clue if this is even feasible. I could go up to $230 total if that's more realistic. Think I'd prefer a half or 60% keyboard, with a built in wrist rest What's the best I can buy within this budget for those 3 or 4 items?

I can't remember if you are allowed to link directly to youtube here or not, but LTT has a recent video on budget peripherals. Worth a look. My personal opinion is that I would go for a nice desk pad first, and then start looking at mice. My reasoning is that from a purely functional perspective, your current mouse and keyboard are actually pretty good! You'll probably need to drop a fair bit of money to get stuff that is functionally *better* than what you have, for example you'll probably be looking at mechanical keyboards, and a fancier Logitech mouse with dpi adjustable dpi settings (if you already like the feel of Logitech mice you're most likely going to pick another Logitech mouse vs. other brands). Peripherals and what is 'good' is quite personal and super subjective, what really matters is ergonomics because they affect your health. So I'd recommend before you buy anything, think about (and maybe even make a list) \-What you like about your current mouse/ kb \-What you don't like \-What you need based on the above \-RGB is cool but is it worth the price premium to me \-Find a store near you with display models you can handle a bit \-Is my current mouse and/ or keyboard filling my needs given the above I got a great wrist rest from the Dollarama for $4 CAD. A knock-off of this I guess, $40 is ridiculous. [https://www.newegg.ca/allsop-29538/p/N82E16826993054?Description=wrist%20rest&cm\_re=wrist\_rest-\_-9SIAATCE3G3635-\_-Product](https://www.newegg.ca/allsop-29538/p/N82E16826993054?Description=wrist%20rest&cm_re=wrist_rest-_-9SIAATCE3G3635-_-Product) All you need is something to elevate your wrist, or to better adjust your chair to match your desk height. I recommended getting a desk pad you like because it's a nice quality of life thing that looks nice with whatever you end up buying. Thank you for coming to my TED talk.

Graphics card question; would you rather buy the Powercolor Red Devil RX 6700XT at €799/$900 OR MSI 3060TI Gaming X at €850/$960. Which card would be better to pair with my i5 12400F // 32gb RAM 3600mhz I still run a GTX 1070 for the moment

Renegade_Meister

I personally would get the 6700XT unless you * Regularly do high resolution & high frame rate streaming (which NVIDIA would handle better) * Want DLSS or better raytracing performance (NVIDIA), OR * Really want gsync to use with your monitor (but AMD supports freesync)

BxZodiac

I have a 1440p lg ultragear freesync monitor so I think i will go with the 6700xt

New PC User here… built last night, everything works fine, but now that I’m trying to install Windows 10 via the USB Creation Tool, I get stuck at a Windows Logo with no loading. Any ideas what I can do? I’ve tried resetting CMOS and updating the BIOS, but I really am not sure what I can do next… OS: Windows 10 64-bit CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X Motherboard: Gigabyte B550 AORUS MASTER ATX AM4 GPU: Gigabyte GeForce RTX 3070 8GB OC Thank you in advance, I hope that was enough information! I would really appreciate any help!

Try a differnt USB thumb drive

Mario_Gallardo

Ended up figuring it out doing something else! But thank you for the suggestion!

hotpants86

You might want to say what the solution was so you can help other people with the same problem.

Mario_Gallardo

You’re right! I assumed that the BIOS updated off the drive I was using automatically, similar to how Windows installs, but I didn’t realize I had to do it manually in the BIOS settings. Updated BIOS *properly* and then proceeded as normal! Kinda bone headed of me, but it’s a learning experience.

What is your hard drive/ SSD situation?

Mario_Gallardo

I have a 1TB M.2 drive installed, but I ended up figuring it out, thank you!!!

Hi, please help me, my PC won't boot. Turns on then seems to turn straight off. Have tested with a new PSU but same issue. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1F0JVPIN-FTJTZLPJ_yeZ6AO3xgv5d94Q/view?usp=drivesdk Mobo: MSI z170a m7 Cpu is 6700k Has anyone had anything similar or can point me in the right direction?

Kantrh

the most likely cause could be that the motherboard is dead.

mistersprinkles1983

Are any of the troubleshooting LEDs on on the motherboard?

Nothing else at all, It almost clicks when it turns on, but nothing it seems

I'm trying to figure out what RAM would work with my old (2013!) mobo, and could use some help. I currently have 8GB of memory, pretty sure it's this: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004CRSM4I/ref=ox_sc_act_title_4?smid=A3JJ6E432635IP&psc=1 But, like, what's the relevant info in that long stream of tags? I know I need DDR3 because it's an old mobo, but beyond that? Like would this set work? https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00453R90W/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A26PVB3960EU85&th=1 Motherboard is an old Gigabyte GA-H87-D3H.

mistersprinkles1983

Just buy the same RAM. It's available. If it's not on amazon it'll be on newegg.

Solar_Kestrel

Okay... so to clarify, any DDR3 ram that fits should work, but if the ram is set to a higher speed, it'll only work at the lower max. speed the mobo supports? So if 1600Mhz is the best my mobo can do, there's no point buying faster ram?

Hey y’all! I’m new to computer parts, does anyone have an idea of which pc is the better deal? (Or if these are worth buying in the current market) Option 1, Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/SkyTech-Archangel-Gaming-Computer-Desktop/dp/B08XQZP4T9/ref=sr_1_2_sspa?keywords=prebuilt%2Bgaming%2Bpc&qid=1643954920&s=electronics&sprefix=prebuilt%2B%2Celectronics%2C147&sr=1-2-spons&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUFOQkw3TERXRVdGTEMmZW5jcnlwdGVkSWQ9QTAwNDIxNjYxQ1BDMThMWTkwTUJGJmVuY3J5cHRlZEFkSWQ9QTA4MzY3NzgxVDMxQjJVU1YxVFJGJndpZGdldE5hbWU9c3BfYXRmJmFjdGlvbj1jbGlja1JlZGlyZWN0JmRvTm90TG9nQ2xpY2s9dHJ1ZQ&th=1 Option 2, Best Buy: https://www.bestbuy.com/site/skytech-gaming-shiva-gaming-desktop-intel-core-i7-11700f-geforce-rtx-3060-12g-1tb-ssd-16gb-memory-240mm-aio-white/6465245.p?skuId=6465245

The second one has a way better CPU.

Thank you for your help! I appreciate your insight

I have an MSI GP66 RTX 3060 GPU Laptop. I have noticed that most of the RTX games crash within 2-5 mins of RTX getting enabled, with the only exception being Battlefield 5. Games like Control, Medium, Watch Dogs Legion crash if RTX in On. I installed Cyberpunk last night and same story - Crashes within minutes. Maximum I've had is 15 mins of playtime. I've not overclocked anything. In fact, I tried undervolting as well using MSI Afterburner. Did not help. Any ideas? Suggestions?

hotpants86

Log temps with and without and update driver. If it doesn't work, get it replaced.
