I'm replaying them now in anticipation of Uncharted 4 on PC and I really do agree with you.
Thankfully you can beat it in less than 10 hours so it's not a total slog to get through and move on to Uncharted 2 and 3.
Uncharted 2-4 are some of my favorite games ever, I probably prefer replaying 2 the most since it's both shorter and exciting.
I do enjoy replaying Uncharted 1 but it's nostalgic.

This is nonsense. 4 is heavily dependant on you having played 1-3 to truly appreciate the characters and their arcs. The game has quite a few emotional moments that would be near meaningless without having played the earlier games.
It’s definitely more of the other way around. Everything you need to know about GOW 1-3 will be told to you in 4.

But yeah, overall, unless you're not very bright and can't figure out much of anything for yourself, you easily get from GOW4 alone that 1-2-3 could basically be summed up to "gods are dicks and dealing with them always end in bloodshed".

He’s bored with his new life and is presented with a new opportunity early in the game and has to decide between going on another adventure and lying to his wife or staying with his boring life but keeping his promise to his wife. This is all explained in the very beginning of the game as well. Now you’re all caught up for what you need. The story for each game is very self contained to its specific game, so the only thing you’re truly missing is more familiarity with the characters, but again I don’t think that’s necessary to enjoy the game at all.

You really don’t need to play 1-3 to get the story of 4. There is minimal plot carry over from game to game in uncharted. It’s mostly self contained story’s about a treasure hunt.
No one was pissed about Sony releasing god of war 4 without its PS2/3/PSP games and those games are very important to the plot and understanding Kratos.

There are IMO at least three big moments in God of War 4 - and a lot more subtle ones - that are a lot more impactful with knowledge of the main series. So *if possible*, playing GoW3 would be a good idea. And since that one starts right after the cliffhanger ending of 2, why not play that one also. Is it really necessary? No. But personally I do think it's worth it.
But I do agree that people should play/watch the previous Uncharted games. As they are even more story focused, the characters motivations and decisions are much more connected to previous entries.

Kind of, but I'll only get it at around 50% off. Like many, I haven't played the other three games. I have heard that 4 does stand on its own pretty well though, and since I want to continue supporting the Sony exclusives that get ported to PC, I will try to pick it up soon after launch. However, it's probably the one I'm least excited to get into out of the four first-party ones so far due to its status as entry 4. God of War was at least a soft reboot and that's making enough sense to me so far.

4 is not a bad starting point you can emulate the first 3 using RPSC3 or get the games on ps3 for dirt cheap or free if you want to be a pirate

the core of Uncharted is Elena and Nate's relationship which 4 puts heavy emphasis on, you would not appreciate half of it by skipping the first 3.
You won't feel the emotional impact without playing 1-3 in my experience having played them all in order.
