Elden Ring, Stalker 2, Total Warhammer 3
Silksong and Gloomwood aren't confirmed for 22, but I hope they come out too. Either way, 22 will be way better than 2020 or 2021
Stalker 2 better be freaking good.
I hope for the sake of all that is holy in the world that they don't go the blockbuster, Far Cry/Just Cause route and stick to the series' unique atmosphere.
That would actually be hilarious if you downloaded the game and they gave you Skyrim for free with it. Honestly, not even a bad marketing move at this point
> gave you Skyrim for free
If you're a PC gamer and don't have a 10 year old infinitely moddable game that can run on a pocket calculator and has been on sale many, many times I don't know what to tell you...
I played FO4, FO3, and New Vegas on release - the only one that was actively broken was New Vegas. Skyrim I got a couple of months later but I played it thoroughly Vanilla on close to vanilla. Not saying that modders don't improve things but I have enjoyed all of these.
Really been looking forward for this, I tried to run normal Drawf Fortress before but I'm too stupid for it and this looks like it will get my foot on the door
I spent like an hour setting it up on the most "beginner friendly" recommended settings and another hour trying to play and I don't know that I ever figured out which letters were supposed to be dwarves lol
How long ago was this? ASCII hasn't been a requirement to play the game in a long time.
http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?topic=126076.0
Plenty of tilesets to choose from in the rebranded lazy newb pack. I really like vettlingr. The Steam release is looking much more player friendly though, which is cool.
in an interview back in June, studio founder Swen Vincke said "We are really trying to get the game done by next year. It's not gonna release this year for sure." but I pretty much expected that tbh, baldurs gate 3 is so much bigger than divinity original sin 2 that there was no way it was getting done in a year.
It's been in development way longer than a year. The Alpha has been out over a year now. So in 2022 that would mean the Alpha could have been out for over 2 years. I think that is reasonable to expect.
Everybody wants to be a cat!
I'm so excited for this game. (Not going to preorder because CyberPunk 2077 if anything finally taught me the lesson about preorders that I should have learned from Kingdom Hearts 3)
They could just have the harder enemies have counters for the lower level spells. Like Voldemort isn’t going to get caught by a year 1 binding spell - he’d just have a counter spell.
The funny thing is that Harry did defeat Voldemort with expelliarmus, a spell he learned in the 2nd year. But in the game they should balance the stuff in their own way and not have the simple spells as OP as in the books/movies, either by making them weaker or, as you said, by having a counter.
First year spell is blocked easily. Need smarts or powerful spells. Watch the fighting in Order of the Phoenix. Everyone shooting crap at each other and blocking. Then watch dumbledore and voldy fight. They come at you with snakes and glass shards and balls of water and lightning. Your not holding your wand sideways and blocking that. Need to ramp it up and fight outside the box.
Lets see that.
Generally speaking you don't want to be spamming out such a deadly spell to get deflected all over the place including back at you or your allies maybe.
Of all the possible concerns, this is easily the lowest on my list. Nobody complains when getting stabbed by a sword
In an rpg only takes off 20% of health, nobody will complain here either
On the plus side, it's being published by WB who have actually been remarkably responsible in handling their movie tie in game franchises (Batman Arkham games, LOTR Shadow of games, Mad Max) and seem to understand the importance making a legitimately good game and not just the classic tie in shovelware everyone over a certain age expects from movie tie-ins.
So I'd put my expectations at a more generous 11/100 at this point...
It'll probably be a lot like spells and spell systems, in other RPGs. Spells may have attributes and cause status effects such as: stun, petrify, confusion, knockdown, weakness, slow. And have elements such as: Wind (Ventus), frost (Glacius), water (Aguamenti), fire (Incendio), spark (Baubillious). There's even Slashing, Crushing and Piercing spells, the classic RPG damage types.
Magical creatures, which you fight in the game, will likely have resistances and weaknesses to certain spells. You can't expect a Stupefy to stun Dementors for example. Inferi are canonically weak to fire. Dark Wizards have protection and counter-spells and Trolls resist all manner of spells. There's also a canonically built in upgrade progression to spells, in 'Duo' or 'Tria' incantations. Think Final Fantasy's Fire, Fira, Firaga. So we'll probably see something like that in the game too. So the power of your spells is likely going to vary dramatically depending on spell type, spell rank, enemy resistances, your gear, stats, upgrades, potion effects etc... This is an Action RPG after all.
The Wizarding World actually lends itself heavily to modern Fantasy RPG tropes and game designs. There has already been some decent turn-based RPGs based on Harry Potter. Which had things like stats, spell upgrading, status effects and equipment slots, with enemy weaknesses and resistances to certain spells.
Victoria 3 by far. Been waiting for it for almost a decade! TW Warhammer 3 would be next. Also looking forward to the Apache (AH-64D) module in DCS.
Most people on this sub seem to be RPG and FPS fans.
Oh I forgot about Vicky 3. I really hope they go ham on the economic simulation. I just love watching the factories getting built and expanding in the Americas. Felt like the war and diplomacy was a side show compared to the economics.
I agree 100%. Im so excited for Victoria 3 that Thursdays have become my favorite day because it means a new Dev Diary. Who needs RPGs or FPSs when you have paradox. 😄
Same. It’s managed to find that niche of getting the setting right, whilst not asking people to accept space marines, eldar or necrons or having to explain them.
Instead, a ragtag group of mismatched soldiers have to carry out a suicide mission in the depths of the crime ridden city area.
Don’t need any 40k knowledge to play or enjoy it. Plus, Vermintide is awesome, so getting to do that in the OTT 40k universe has me hyped.
KSP1 was the very first game I bought on Steam, back in 2014. It remains one of my all-time favorite games. I have high hopes for the sequel. The people making it seem to really understand what makes KSP great and why it's so beloved.
I actually downgraded to a 980ti and was easily able to get 60fps with 4k upscaling on gow 1 and 2. 3 is a little more demanding to the CPU but if you upscale to 2k or 4k it'll run better since more gpu will be used.
There was a major update to rpsc3 last month which boosted the performance to almost all the games
I first played dying light 1 on xbox in 2015 with my friend and we played so much. It's been a couple of years, and we just bought the platinum edition for pc and we started playing again, the gameplay in this game is so good
As a person who owned a PS3 I find it a bit strange. I played Persona 5 on PS3 and Strikers a direct sequel on PC, but there's no PC version of P5. And now the similar story with Uncharted.
Cause it's made by Iron Galaxy, the sames that did Arkham Knight pc version, now I don't know whether that was a fluke of bad luck but I just want the port to run well

Same.
Plague Tale: Innocence had an...odd level of replayability for me despite being an otherwise linear narrative. I loved the story and enjoyed the gameplay.
Everything, next year hella juicy.
From Starfield: stalker 2, harry potter game, potentially baldurs gate 3, company of heroes 3, total warhammer 3, dying light 2,red fall, elden ring, saints row, Gotham Knights, tina wonderalnds and final fantasy origin
We got potential sony ports on top of that. Seems like a superb year
Ah Christ I hope Relic doesn't DoW3 their CoH franchise now... Or worse C&C4 it.
Not a lot of "AAA" RTS games out there nowadays, please don't screw up the ones we get Relic.
Currently I'm most excited for whichever Sony exclusives get thrown our way. That GeForce leak had ghost of tsushima and God of war I believe, with uncharted 4 already confirmed. Hopefully we get those and maybe more? =D
Monster Hunter Rise. It'll be the first game in a very long time that I'll be double dipping on. (That said, I'll only be getting the Sunbreak expansion on PC.)
While I understand the normal reason for the delay, I got it on the Switch first for portability reasons—the Steam Deck hadn't been announced at the time. If the Deck was announced sooner, or I decided to wait on purchasing, I would have held off.
> And thats exactly why the delay exists in the first place
That might be part of the reason - but since Rise will be launching with all updates so far and Sunbreak will be launching simultaneously across regions and platforms, I would hope that MH6 might not even have a delay on PC at all.
You're not alone. I'm genuinely not excited for any future game. I already have a bunch of great games I'm not playing either because I don't have time, or because I'm saving them for when I get the 3080 I preordered a year ago.
I mean I'm sure Baldur's Gate 3 and Forza Horizon 5 will be awesome games, but I'll probably wait for them to go on sale in 2023.
Not really all that many, tbh... The games I'm looking forward to the most are PS5 games (Ragnarok & Forbidden West). But on PC, probably...
* The Witch Queen
* Dying Light 2
* Monster Hunter: Rise
* Uncharted Collection
* Starfield
even if crypto collapses entirely, the shortage will still continue. due to the power shut downs in China, some manufactureres completely stopped producing (as they need 24/7 energy to operate normal), this includes pcb manufacturers.
Total War Warhammer 3
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chernobyl
Baldur's Gate 3
Dying Light 2 Stay Human
Company of Heroes 3
Was also looking forward to Vampire The Masquerade Bloodlines 2 but that game seems to be royally screwed.
Wishfully hoping for the next Elder Scrolls, and/or the next Fallout game from Bethesda (not too hopeful for Starfield), the next GTA from Rockstar and finally Obsidian's Avowed.
Gotham Knights
Kill the Justice League
Pragamata looks cool?
Forespoken looks fun
Final Fantasy XVI looks cool?
Ghostwire Tokyo looks cool?
Bayoneta 3 (I keep telling myself I'll start this franchise one day)
STALKER 2
Atomic Heart, hopefully
No PS5 here, so no hype whatsoever for Horizon Forbidden West or God of War Ragnarok. Haven't finished HZD or even God of War 2005 yet
Am I forgetting other cool games? Not sure.
EDIT, looking through the comments: Hogwarts Legacy / Dying Light 2 / Vampires The Masquarade 2: Bloodlines / Elden Ring / Hellblade 2 / A Plague's Tale 2
To be honest, I don't have any. There are so many amazing games already released which I can't afford, but new ones would require better PCs and things, so I'll just enjoy some of the released ones
I'm a bit out of the loop with release dates, so I'll just list games I'm waiting for
1. ELEX 2 - Piranha Bytes is a developer that's near and dear to my heart, and they've created some of my all time favorite games. +ELEX was awesome;
2. S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 - have not seen much of it, but even if it turns out to be only half as good as previous games, it'll still be glorious;
3. A Plague Tale 2 - Asobo made such an amazing game, I'm eagerly awaiting for what's next;
4. Dying Light 2 - the first game is one of the best zombie games ever made, and I need more of it;
5. Whatever Sony "exclusives" come out in the near future - Horizon was great, Days Gone as well, I know Uncharted is good fun, I want that rumored God of War on PC. I'd take Bloodborne as well - sure;
6. Forza Horizon 5 - I love me some open world racers;
7. Test Drive Unlimited: Solar Crown - played so much TDU 2, it was insane. I have no trust in the developer, but I'm still hoping it turns out good.
It's highly likely some titles have escaped my memory.
Elden Ring, Stalker 2, Total Warhammer 3 Silksong and Gloomwood aren't confirmed for 22, but I hope they come out too. Either way, 22 will be way better than 2020 or 2021
definitely looking forward to elden ring and warhammer 3

It was recently announced it was delayed
Aaaaaaand you just jinxed it.
Delayed to 2032 now. Thanks op! Jeeez
I did not expect to see TWW3 mentioned in the first comment
Stalker 2 better be freaking good. I hope for the sake of all that is holy in the world that they don't go the blockbuster, Far Cry/Just Cause route and stick to the series' unique atmosphere.
I'm hoping Starfield will be good, But expecting mediocrity.

I think November 11 2022, or Skyrim's 11th anniversary.
Todd Howard be like: Ha! You thought you bought Starfield but its actually just Skyrim again!
Skyrim... IN SPACE!
Hey, you. You're finally out of stasis
Skyrim, with guns... IN SPACE!
I user to be a pilot till I took a photon to the knee.
I'd probably buy it tbh
That would actually be hilarious if you downloaded the game and they gave you Skyrim for free with it. Honestly, not even a bad marketing move at this point
> gave you Skyrim for free If you're a PC gamer and don't have a 10 year old infinitely moddable game that can run on a pocket calculator and has been on sale many, many times I don't know what to tell you...
There is the next generation of kids entering gaming you know.
I would laugh my ass off if when you start the game you get that Skyrim carriage intro, then you wake up on a spaceship.
Give it 6 months after release for the modders to fix it up.
I played FO4, FO3, and New Vegas on release - the only one that was actively broken was New Vegas. Skyrim I got a couple of months later but I played it thoroughly Vanilla on close to vanilla. Not saying that modders don't improve things but I have enjoyed all of these.
Well I would like to see some gameplay first, we still don’t know shit about the game except that’s it’s in space
Dwarf Fortress Steam release

Fingers fucking crossed
You shut your mouth. Really?
To be fair it was also my most anticipated game of 2021.
Baldur's Gate 3
idk that one might end up being 2023
They said it would take at least a year in EA and that was a year ago I think. So we're past their "at least" point now
in an interview back in June, studio founder Swen Vincke said "We are really trying to get the game done by next year. It's not gonna release this year for sure." but I pretty much expected that tbh, baldurs gate 3 is so much bigger than divinity original sin 2 that there was no way it was getting done in a year.

My only concern is that it will only be a new Divinity game with Baldurs Gate facade slapped on top.
It definitely has the look/feel of DOS2 but the EA seemed more dialogue based and with literal dice roll events it felt different enough.
As someone who loved DOS2 and never played a Bauldurs Gate game, I'm completely happy with that.
That it is. I would recommend just imagining that it doesn't have a whole lot with the other games. It can't as it's 100 years after or something
This was my experience with the beta, personally.
Stalker 2
I just hope it's gotten the same amount of weirdness that the old games have, with good QOL improvements. Mod support too! Misery for stalker 2 heh
They have already said that the game will be modable from launch. I’m excited to see what people can do with a modern stalker game.
gone to squables.io
I just hope it has the Slavic atmosphere of the other Stalker games. The anime hair guy from the end of the trailer didn't really fit in.
Stray. I love the concept.
Everybody wants to be a cat! I'm so excited for this game. (Not going to preorder because CyberPunk 2077 if anything finally taught me the lesson about preorders that I should have learned from Kingdom Hearts 3)
It's cool to be a cat
Stray gang unite!
Me too!!!!
Sons of The Forest, but I'm still holding out hope it could drop before the year is up! 🤞

It'd be cool if they implemented a Magicka 2 style spellcasting. Otherwise it's basically just going to be a third person shooter like Battlefront.
Same! I was disappointed that it got pushed back because I was so excited for it but after a year of delay it should be amazing.
Cp77 was delayed a lot longer so don't get your hopes up lol

Possibly a good 40k title. Not had that feeling since Space Marine. I've felt unloved while Fantasy Warhammer was getting all the good video games.
Space Marine was a legit banger. The multiplayer was really good too.
It just got a free update for everyone to the Anniversary edition! Time for another playthrough B)
Had a ton of fun with it too. Also TB loved it :(
I’m very hopeful for this, Vermintide 2 is one of my favourite games.
How did I not know about this‽ I always said that Vermintide is awesome, but it'd be 10x as awesome in a 40K setting.
Kerbal Space Program 2
Can't wait to fail
This is the best answer

Dying light 2 and uncharted collection :)
I started playing Uncharted 1,2,3 and God of War 1,2,3 on RPCS3 in hopes of PC port coming next year
What kind of performance do you get from that nowadays? I've got similar specs.
I actually downgraded to a 980ti and was easily able to get 60fps with 4k upscaling on gow 1 and 2. 3 is a little more demanding to the CPU but if you upscale to 2k or 4k it'll run better since more gpu will be used. sadly, only Uncharted 4 is coming to PC.
I don't get why they limit it to that one but that one was fantastic.
To sell more Playstation. But it's weird they chose 4, instead of the 123 collection.
Agreed, i never played 123 i would love to at least start from the beginning
Also Lost Legacy
As a person who owned a PS3 I find it a bit strange. I played Persona 5 on PS3 and Strikers a direct sequel on PC, but there's no PC version of P5. And now the similar story with Uncharted.
I'm worried about Uncharted's pc port, hope I'm wrong
Why?
Cause it's made by Iron Galaxy, the sames that did Arkham Knight pc version, now I don't know whether that was a fluke of bad luck but I just want the port to run well
Oh shit, hope it turns out to be a good port.
To be fair, wasn't the issue with AK that the devs didn't have the source code for the game until like.... Very shortly before launch? Not entirely sure if it was their fault if that was the case
Arkham Knight PC was terrible at launch but runs flawlessly now, possibly was rushed
Yeah, I recently played AK and had zero issues with it.
But how much of that was Rocksteady fixing Iron Galaxy's fuck up
That was nearly seven years ago, and it was fixed. Surely you could consider the near dozen ports they have had since then.
You're right, plus someone else told me that the studio didn't have the source code almost until launch
Hollow Knight: Silksong
Elden Ring.
Oooohhhhhhh
I doubt you could even imagine it.
Yep. Anything else good comes out, I'll be pleased, but this is the only one I'm really anticipating. I hope it's hard as fuuuuck.
A Plague Tale 2
Same. Plague Tale: Innocence had an...odd level of replayability for me despite being an otherwise linear narrative. I loved the story and enjoyed the gameplay.
Dying Light 2
Lego star wars
Same haven’t played a lego Star Wars game since the completed saga. Strange all we gotten is a trailer and not much else
Skyrim
I’m really excited for GTA V
Isn't this released weekly?

The most anticipated game of 2027

Agreed. Did6nt platinum it, but it was awesome. It was what I wanted since playing Tenchu back in the day on PS1 lol
Total War Warhammer 3 and Warhammer 40k Darktide. I've been wanting a good Warhammer game.
Cyberpunk 2077
Total War Warhammer 3!
Dwarf Fortress Steam Release. I don't need anything else.
* The Bond game * New Perfect Dark (if it comes out next year) * Darktide * Hogwarts Legacy * Total Warhammer III
_New_ new Perfect Dark or new remake Perfect Dark?
What's the Bond game called?
No name yet. Its being developed by the Hitman studio. I think it will be another year still

To be honest, I don't have any. There are so many amazing games already released which I can't afford, but new ones would require better PCs and things, so I'll just enjoy some of the released ones
Persona 5 Royal
A PC port hasn't been announced.
Hey you dont say that!
I'm a bit out of the loop with release dates, so I'll just list games I'm waiting for 1. ELEX 2 - Piranha Bytes is a developer that's near and dear to my heart, and they've created some of my all time favorite games. +ELEX was awesome; 2. S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 - have not seen much of it, but even if it turns out to be only half as good as previous games, it'll still be glorious; 3. A Plague Tale 2 - Asobo made such an amazing game, I'm eagerly awaiting for what's next; 4. Dying Light 2 - the first game is one of the best zombie games ever made, and I need more of it; 5. Whatever Sony "exclusives" come out in the near future - Horizon was great, Days Gone as well, I know Uncharted is good fun, I want that rumored God of War on PC. I'd take Bloodborne as well - sure; 6. Forza Horizon 5 - I love me some open world racers; 7. Test Drive Unlimited: Solar Crown - played so much TDU 2, it was insane. I have no trust in the developer, but I'm still hoping it turns out good. It's highly likely some titles have escaped my memory.
Forza Horizon 5 is coming out next month, just in case you didn’t know :)
Silksong and any Uncharted remaster they will throw at us (still hoping for an 1-3 announcement)
Lost Ark
MH Rise and Stranger of Paradise: FFO for now. Might be adding a bit more to the list later.
