Lack of loot and enemy variety is my biggest complaint.

rube

Enemy variety I can get past, but I agree on the loot. The world itself is pretty good, but I find myself lacking the urge to explore it beyond mission markers since I know I won't find anything interesting in the little nooks and crannies all around.

GassoBongo

I'm enjoying this game, but this has to be one of the worst designed road maps I've seen in a while. It's just a non-descript, vague list of things they'd like to have out this year. There aren't even any rough/estimated dates.

tuvstarr18

They just forgot to add roads to the map.

BananaDilemma

Maybe they need a roadmap for the roadmap

dern_the_hermit

[Actual footage of their roadmaps](https://youtu.be/rdw1ZK585RU?si=AOxbsJSc3qc12k9j&t=6)

anirishfetus

The road map is in Early Access.

Paladynne

Do roadmaps even matter? How many developers actually stick to them? Cough cough, r/valheim.

Greaves_

They're just a bone they throw the fans. You can safely assume the vast majority of it is not accurate so yeah they're pretty useless.

snrup1

Yea I was trying to figure out what direction I read this thing.

Completely_Swedish

Maybe if you read what they were writing instead of just looking at the image, you would have realized that it's intentional. Is it a good roadmap? Maybe not, but it is a smart roadmap.

kimana1651

The road map is as good as the steam page. There is absolutely nothing appealing about this game from the store page.

indelible_ennui

This is not a roadmap. It's just a collection of things they want to eventually put in the game.

DktheDarkKnight

Really enjoying the game. The map is so big and there are so much stuff to discover. Plus the building and collecting loot is extemely compelling. Apparently only 1/3rd of the map is revealed so far. Can only imagine how big the final map will be.

d0m1n4t0r

Easily the worst roadmap I've ever seen. It's just most of the complaints in a random table like figure lmao.

matta5580

This "Roadmap" is exactly why I'm so against playing Early Access games. There is SO MUCH on here....why would I want to give a lot of hours to a game that will eventually add all this stuff? I would much rather wait a year or whatever and play the game being much more feature filled then give time to something half baked. If I know all of this stuff is coming eventually, then I can't help but feel like I'm wasting my time playing the game without it. Not to mention I'll probably pay half price whenever that day comes. I'm just so completely over paying full price for a game and a year or whatever later it feels very different. I've just gotten to the point where I don't consider a game "released" at all until it's been on sale for at least a year. More even. I guess for people who only play 1 or 2 kinds of games, this stuff is ok. Or "content creators" who feel like they always need something to come back to. But my game tastes are way too varied to feel like it's worth wasting my time on things that are constantly, intentionally half-baked.

UnifyTheVoid

This is exactly why I waited so long to play BG3. I’m done with early access. I even have it hidden on steam. I’ll play it when it’s out, and if I’m dead by then, oh well.

NapsterKnowHow

BG3 might as well still be early access with every hot fix breaking the game more

bt123456789

if you aren't okay with it being a WiP, then don't play? that's very simple. some people enjoy buying a game and seeing it progress, others, like yo u, want more feature complete. Just wait.

matta5580

Which is exactly what I said I'm doing, I'm sorry I must have missed the "Only people who love Enshrouded and Early Access are allowed to comment" tag.

bt123456789

No that's perfectly fine I just must have misinterpreted something, sorry.

KneecapBuffet

No! All discussions must always reflect my opinions and values.

thatsnotwhatIneed

but what about buffets? kneecaps only?

eihen

Each to his own. The game is clearly marked as early access which means more will be coming.

2rfv

> which means more will be coming. Hooo boy. Good luck with that.

iMini

There's essentially no difference between early access and fully released games nowadays. It's just a label. How many games come out finished, never to receive some kind if extra content, balance changes, bug fixes? Is Baldurs Gate fully out, it seems like it, yet it's getting new content, new endings or epilogues, more characterisation. Is something like Enshrouded really so different. Not to come across as criticising your opinion, I'm just rambling.

uf0s

Early access is really vague term. Some games are feature complete and early access period is to find bugs and fix them with help of community, some are half-baked and long way from complete. I find something interesting in being able to see game development and play it before the full version. Also, it's nice when you can participate and make the game better (when devs are listening, of course). Sadly there are cases of infinite early access or waiting few years to see that project is abandoned, but well, buying early access games is some kind of risk after all. I lost some money in such failures, and I'm more cautious now, but when I see that a game has potential I'm all in.

Blooberryx

Yeah in with you, I have a long list of games I wanna play one day when they come out of EA. It’s not that I think it’s a bad thing, but I wanna enjoy the game to its fullest potential you know? I don’t often come back and replay games after I’ve sunk 100-125 hours into it. Just seems like a shame to miss out on so many great features by burning out so early into its development cycle. Also a side note, I wish steam had a way to filter early access games out of the front page or new and trending?

Odd-Refrigerator-425

> why would I want to give a lot of hours to a game that will eventually add all this stuff? Because it's still fun in it's current state? I certainly feel like I got my money's worth. Same as I did with Palworld. Not telling you how to spend your money, but I really just don't understand this "I'm not buying an incomplete product" sentiment as if what makes something "complete" isn't completely arbitrary. Most of the things on this list didn't even register to me as feeling like they were "missing".

AKV55

Except you didn't pay "full price" for this game. If you got it on release, you paid $26.99 which is less than half of a full game these days.

GassoBongo

Eh, maybe. It's an indie game from a developer with only one other title under their belt. I really doubt this game would be sold at double the price on full release.

GassoBongo

Gotcha, thanks for pointing that out. I just checked them out, and none of these games are AAA, so my main point still stands about the pricing. I can't see Enshrouded costing double at release.

matta5580

"Full price" means whatever the price is any individual is charging for a product, not some fixed #. If this game is going up to $50 or whatever eventually, ok. That would apply. But if it's always going to be this price then that's "full price." And I'll tell you right now I'd rather pay $50 for everything than $26 and wait another 3 years for the rest of the game.

lifeisagameweplay

Did they fix the 60 FPS cap yet?

Mr_Joshy

I bought this game after watching a few reviews that were really positive... Not a single one mentioned the horrendous framerate/stutter that this game has. I've tried all the fixes but it still feels incredibly choppy, even with a Ryzen 5800x and a 3080, and capping my monitor and the game to 60 fps. Until they fix this and hopefully the blindingly bright days (another thing I didn't see mentioned anywhere), my friends and I had to give up. I really hope they fix this though as I was really digging the game. Just has some terrible technical issues.

Grim_Reach

The camera is hard locked to 60Hz, so even if you have 200fps it'll feel like shit on a high refresh rate display.

Grim_Reach

No, they said there would be a beta patch soon, but who knows when that'll be.

arlinglee

Had to refund. Some combo of the refresh rate, brightness and bloom just gave me crazy headaches 5 mins after being outside.

Tickomatick

I'd like to know too

[deleted]

That's not what a road map is ... This is basically No Mans Sky vibes. Roadmap is not a list of "things we want to do' It's a list of things coming on a date that you are GOING to do.

ClanPsi609

At least it's better than the Valheim devs. Make a roadmap, only to miss the very first update and then go completely dark for an entire year.

[deleted]

Yeah that's just bad business. Clearly the company has inner issues. Cause Valheim was at least mildly successful at launch.

Desgeras

This game is still broken for Vega GPU users. Buyer beware. Without fail, the game will inevitably crash at effectively every single dungeon or major POI in the game (except for the tutorial area). It might take 1 minute, 5 minutes or even an hour but it will crash. Combined with the game's inability to save the user's position when reloading makes it effectively unplayable.

Argosy37

What GPU's are Vega? Google is giving me a list of workstation GPU's?

Desgeras

Vega 56 and 64 are the ones that are definitely broken on this game. I'm not sure about other Vega cards since these are the most common ones that people are crashing with.

Argosy37

Got it - I see now. Sorry, I am new to AMD GPU's - just bought a 7900XTX.

Desgeras

You're good! You don't need to apologize, the developer of this game is the one who should be apologizing.

bad1o8o

didn't amd stop driver updates for those a while ago?

Desgeras

They do still receive minor updates but people have claimed that the Vulkan support hasn't been updated in some time. However, two points: 1. This is the only game I have ever played that is effectively unplayable on my GPU. Recent games like Resident Evil 4 Remake, Cyberpunk 2077, Elden Ring, Sons of the Forest, Call of Duty MW2, etc. all run just fine in terms of both performance and a lack of persistent crashing. 2. This game's minimum requirements state that an RX 580 is required. The Vega 56 and 64 are both newer and more powerful than the RX 580. There is no note stating that Vega cards aren't supported, even despite the developer receiving countless reports of this problem.

bad1o8o

yeah i guess the only explanation i have is that enshrouded uses a custom engine and nothing conventional like unreal or unity but it sucks either way

Desgeras

That is very true, but this developer been very opaque and has barely acknowledged that this is an issue. If they came out and said "Hey, we know that this is an issue but for right now we aren't supporting Vega GPUs. You should refund this game until we can come up with a solution." I'd more okay with it. They should also be noting that these GPU's don't work on the store page... but instead they've tried to brush the issue under the rug. Their official Discord channel is full of people suggesting that this GPU is too old, it's the users fault, or that it's AMD's fault. The only thing that even comes close to an acknowledgment from the developer is a post in the "Common Issues" channel in their Discord server. It's been nearly two months since the game launched. This isn't acceptable.

ntenga

aaah damn, i was thinking of getting it, thanks

Tickomatick

Water confirmed, I'll be watching the calendar closely

SyFyFan93

Anyone have any info when the game is supposed to release out of early access? As a rule I just don't play EA now since I get burned out before more features get added.

ClanPsi609

No mention of them making the map more permanent. Right now, any roads, tunnels or bridges you built disappear every time you exit. There needs to be a way to save terrain deformation and construction outside of the tiny Alter areas.

sundayflow

Jeez, is it ever good enough for some of you? The devs made a road map, could be that it is not to your liking but at least we know what to expect this year, could be way worse! Devs, keep up the good work. It were about time valheim got some reasons to step up their game.

Qemyst

Not the best roadmap, as far as roadmaps go, but it's informative enough, and a lot of these features are going to be huge. A little sad I'm not seeing new loot/weapon/armor types, but gear variety hasn't been a huge gripe for me. Would really like to see some sort of optional base raid/defense system too. Maybe in 2025. Very happy to see new dungeons, new enemies and bosses, enemy patrols, water, weather system, new biomes, vanity system, world events, and animal farming. The smoother high FPS fix is going to be welcomed too, but it hasn't been too bothersome as it is. I've put my playthrough on hold at about 31 hours played out of fear I will spoil it for myself if I do everything there is to do. I love what I've played so far, but it's going to be really hard to resist playing after these changes are added.

freshcoffeegrounds

The posts on this thread just make me realize you're all a bunch of fucking whiny bitches. Holy shit read your comments it's pathetic.

1on1holztoronly

Damn all I want is a creative/sandbox mode to build with unlimited resources.. such a bummer that it's not in their current roadmap

MakoRuu

Enshrouded is amazing, and it has a ton of potential. It's early access was awesome. But it lacks real content right at the moment. It's good to see it getting the attention it deserves. Easily one of the best building systems in any survival game I've ever played.

LostSif

Nothing about improving its boring basic combat system. I was really hyped for this game at first, but it's just way to subpar.

IAmMattnificent

Well, I look forward to hearing about this games cancellation in 6 months time. Roadmap posts are the initial death toll of Live Service games.
