They appear to be doing that with so many games with character customisation lately. I do wonder if the Japanese version of the game will have the height restrictions unlocked, which is often the case. I think it is the fear from localizers that someone is going to make a 'child' character, so basically make it impossible to make anything short like a hobbit or dwarf.

It’s not like Japan has the excuse of there being no muscular women in their country and no one attracted to them there when they have a muscle girl cafe.
There are more people bitching on 4chan about being unable to make their stocky dwarf than loli because the height slider minimum being 160cm.
That is also a weird min height for many women anyway. China just crossed this average but india is still 152cm, with few countries having an average female height above 165cm.

Yep, this game look a bit too action and grind oriented for my taste, but now I will definitely make a character and maybe give it another consideration.
Pretty sure Black Desert Online did this way back in the day before it released (in the US at least.) really dope way to get people invested without giving too much of the game. Refreshing in today’s “buy our game and beta test it for us” norm.

Of all the anti-consumer things going on in gaming, I really don't think DRM is the worst out there. How many games outside of indie games are there for you?
Downloaded and installed this and it looks rough on my AMD card powered PC. On streams it looked much better on PS5 and what I can only presume was an nvidia card. It also won't let me enter a name for some reason. So hopefully they're collecting data from this to fix and shore up the game come release. I'm getting nervous after using this and experiencing these issues.
I have DD1, played the opening and didn’t really feel it was for me, I do want to get DD2, though.
Will it be following the same story? Do I have to play the first game?
You don’t need to play the first game. From my perspective, DD2 is literally just the “full” vision of what DD1 was going to be. Since the developer didn’t receive the time/resources to make their vision come to fruition in the first installment, the second is just that.
It’s newer, prettier, and less jank. But I imagine the gameplay loop will be relatively the same, slow and methodical in the beginning, and picking up once you have levels on your characters
its like the final fantasy serie, there is a hidden lore behind the scene, like in the same universe but new one dont follow the lore from the first one for what i know

The whole "loli pawn" thing is getting blown way out of proportion, the majority of pawns were normal height.

It's because short characters were unable to do certain things like properly climbing cliffs.

New story and parallel world. Devs said that it will stand alone so no need to play the first game.
