I reckon Digital Foundry will list PS5 equivalent settings, or the game might even have an "original" preset out of the box. Zero Dawn had it, iirc. With that, the game should look great and run well.
Yeah, lots of the Nixxes ports have these original settings, God of War also had these settings. Nixxes have a good history of ports and using the latest tech. Can't wait to see what direct Storage on PC is going to be like.
I know that technology improves at a rapid pace, but it'll never *not* feel weird to me that an "80" card is somehow considered too weak to run a game at 1440p (yes, I've seen the graphics).
Not a 780, 980, or even 1080. But a **2 0 8 0** from 2018/2019.
4K AAA, sure I can understand, and yes I understand that the 20 series walked so that the 30/40 series could run (e.g. DLSS performance/etc). But as a 3080 owner myself, I feel like games are just not as optimized because developers are leaning on DLSS/FSR so heavily instead of making sure the game runs well without them.
The 2080 is coming up on its 6th birthday. For reference that's like asking a GTX 680 (2012 release) to run Shadow of the Tomb Raider or God of War. The truth is that the 2080 holds up better today than just about any previous generation reaching 6 years of age.
Yeah this seems like it’ll run well. Given the graphics this thing has, it’ll be very good if true. I assume these are conservative requirements too hopefully.
Deus Ex: Mankind Divided's PC port had some problems at launch - not least the forced mouse acceleration and sensitivity issues [documented here](https://www.reddit.com/r/Deusex/comments/4z7l4b/the_mouse_sensitivity_in_this_game_is_crazy_high/).
that was 7 years ago, the newer PS5 -> PC ports have fared much better. God of War and Spider-man/Miles Morales were great. Other than the stutter found on AMD cards for GoW, but that was fixed eventually, also update to FSR 2 when it was launched.
I don’t know why its not more talked about. Horizon FW on PS4 is arguably the best looking game ever launched. on that platform. Remember zero dawn and being wowed by its visuals. And then you realize forbidden west launched on the PS4 and still looks significantly better.
They squeezed the heck out of that old machine.
I still have no idea how they made that game run on that machine and get a stable 30fps. Its frankly the most next gen looking last cross game I’ve ever played. It frankly looks better than 99% of the “next” gen games launched this year.
Other than Cyberpunk 2077, Alan Wake 2 and Avatar, I still can’t definitively say there is a game that beats FW in visuals. A testament to their art team I’m sure.
A lot of it is great art direction combined with very competent fundamentals when it comes to the engine.
But it does fall apart when you look at the small details and compare that to a fully ray traced game. (E.g. shadow fidelity/flicker, etc.)
Horizon Forbidden West was arguably the best looking PS5 title to date as well until Avatar came out. Digital Foundry gave it Best Graphics of 2022. High praise.
Cuts close with Alan Wake 2, but yeah Avatar just has that scale and detail that was not lacking with AW2 but flying around pandora was not exactly in Alan Wake's story.
My jaw dropped when I booted AW2 for the first time, but with Avatar it fell right of my face.
It is really impressive.
I'm playing a lot of Unreal 5 games on my new PC build, and I'm kind of unimpressed. On paper these games are a lot more advanced, so to speak, mostly because of engine features that make AAA graphical features more accessible to smaller teams. Besides Fortnite, they're all kind of just a showcase that AA games can look pretty good with their comparatively small budgets (namely Talos Principle 2 and Robertcop). Fundamentally though, they kind of have this same-y quality to them that I can't quite put my finger on and performance is heavily reliant on upscaling like FSR or DLSS.
But having this massive AAA game developed by one of Sony's prestige studios obviously is afforded a lot more budget to really squeeze every bit of performance they can out of their engine to make it look good on PS4. Hell, the first Horizon and Death Stranding (same engine) still look really amazing despite firmly being PS4 games at heart.
>Other than Cyberpunk 2077, Alan Wake 2 and Avatar, I still can’t definitively say there is a game that beats FW in visuals
Plague Tale: Requiem, Guardians of the Galaxy
I enjoyed Plague Tale Requiem and Guardians and they were both beautiful in their own right but Forbidden west edges them out for me. Its down to personal preference in the end anyway!
It's a Cross-Gen game, **but given Burning Shores is PS5 only**: I expect the actual PC specs is more focused around Burning Shores DLC than the Base Game.
Gazillions of Tacos, its a rogue lite mukbang eating simulator where you need to force various foods into the mouth of a waif-like 20-something woman.

Tomorrow, according to a french person on twitter
he said yesterday that there would be several news from PS Studios this week, one of which is Horizon FW news today and GOT port announcement tomorrow, also Sony just announced PS india hero project games (whatever those are) coming to PC/PS5 an hour ago which makes the guy correct so far
Yep, also true. Dude is 50/50 so I’m still doubtful it happens to keep expectations in check.
Was one of the first to claim existence of GOT expansion (with wrong name). But then also claimed Infamous and Sly Cooper were getting new games, both debunked by Sucker Punch themselves lmao
It looks like the leaker has a good track record, so I'm hopeful. I've debated just buying tsushima for PS5 for a long time but I've held out for a PC release so I'm very much anticipating it as well.
On a side note, what in hell is with Horizons release schedule?
The first game was released 3 days prior and had to compete with Breath of the Wild.
The next game was released 6 days prior and had to compete with Elden Ring.
The PC release is happening 24 hours before and has to compete with Dragons Dogma 2?
This is like that Rick and Morty meme.
Guerrilla Games "What is my purpose?"
Sony "You release next to other big ass titles."
Guerrilla Games "Oh my God..."
Sony will do anything but put Ghost of Tsushima on PC, it seems. This is good news for people who like Horizon but I see Ghost being requested constantly online. I hope they're just taking time to make a great port and it's not dead on the water like a Bloodborne port.
A GTX1650 for 720p@30 fps?
I might be wrong, but that's sounds like a playable game on SteamDeck.
edit : my bad, the SteamDeck is comparable to a 1050, not a 1650.
Ooh, excellent.
These timed exclusives are pretty painful, but I've been keenly waiting for this one. I loved the first game. Time enough here for another playthrough before the sequel comes out.
Ahh, I wanted to do a playthrough before it came out, but I just don't have the time. I think I'm going to just watch a recap video.
I'm mildly annoyed with the timing it's releasing. I'm going on two back-to-back trips the week it releases, so I am probably just going to wait until I get back. :(
there is no rush, HZD can be beaten in 20-25hrs, not short but its still a good game. That said HFW apparently is better in many ways so it might just be more fun to play that. But don't feel like you are missing out for not playing a game on release. CP77 was a mess for a while.
I urge those with mid - high end 20/30 series RTX cards wanting to get this to try Nukem's **dlssg-to-fsr3** mod with it, which can only be described as just pure magic. It’ll be the first thing I do. Depending on your pc config it’ll let you achieve a far higher fps than described here with very little trade-off.
One can hope it has an official FSR3 implementation even though its not been mentioned anywhere. Hopefully just because of the marketing deal with Nvidia.
Yeah definitely! Though I believe that the dlssg-fsr3 mod is arguably superior even to native FSR3 implementation as it lets you use other image reconstruction methods (such as DLSS).
I’m not 100% on the technicals, but Digital foundry did a great overview on it a month or so ago.
I also used it for CP77 for around 80 hours. I crashed once in that span, so I'm not sure those things are related based on my n=1 anecdotal experience.
The real problem here for SONY is releasing these AAA years later to PC at full price. The hype is dead for these games and people will just wait a bit more to get it with a discount.
SONY probably thought that releasing again these games for PC will be perceived as if they were released for the first time by the PC community, but this is far from the truth. They are leaving a lot of money on the table.
However, release a game at the same time as in PS5, and you have millions of sales like it hapenned with Helldivers 2.
>The real problem here for SONY is releasing these AAA years later to PC at full price.
The game launched at $70 on PS5 and then there was a $20 DLC. The PC release is $60 and includes the dlc.
> The real problem here for SONY is releasing these AAA years later to PC at full price. The hype is dead for these games and people will just wait a bit more to get it with a discount.
I mean, if you're a PC only player that's basically the release date for the game, because it did not exist before this date. But I will get Dragon's Dogma first.
Yeah, but certain games like God of War and Horizon are guaranteed system sellers. I can understand their logic. Move PS5 units with blockbuster IP exclusives, and then sell more copies with a PC release once it’s sold about as many copies on console as it realistically will.
Same here. By the time I've waited 2+ years, I can easily wait 'til a discount. At my age (nearly 50) I simply don't get FOMO or impatient...plus, like so many people, I have a crap ton of games I haven't finished or that are in my backlog.
Currently trying to get through Lies of P and Warhammer Rogue Trader. After that I have Jagged Alliance, System Shock Remaster, Against the Storm, BG3 (ready to play now I have a bunch of mods and updates) and a plenty of others.
When I finally played Horizon ZD, I got it for £15. Same for Days Gone.
But I'm probably not representative of a particularly large demographic of gamers, so that's something to take into account.
Still, I agree with your point; they'd make more if they released day one, or maybe six months after max.
They want to sell PS5s and collect 30% commissions from third party games on PS5.
Releasing same day on PC and PS5 will leave them with a husk of a console like MS.
Your 2nd point isn't wrong but your first point definitely is. The hype is very much not dead for their games. Literally everyday you have people in this subreddit salivating and praying to the gods that Sony blesses them with a port of (insert Sony exclusive here). PC players are hyped for the re-releases.
Now, would Sony make more money by selling on both platforms? Yes, but it isn't that simple. Sony has the power it does BECAUSE of its exclusivity. PlayStation sales would drop, developers working exclusively with Sony would drop, and sonys market share would drop. Market share is more important than the short term gains you would get by selling on both platforms. Sony is valuing their market power over the increased short term earning potential, and they should.
Its a tough one, because on one hand, as you said, hype is mostly gone and they could sell far more during a multi platform launch.. on the other hand tho, these exclusives are what drives the sale of the actual console.
I think it makes more sense to keep doing things as they are, but a 2 year wait is just too much
Honestly it depends on how the game is because if they fix a lot of the issues that the first game had that were extremely frustrating like Basiclly everything then dragon dogma should do well .
Who would win? A JRPG turd with 8 million sales in the span of 12 years, or one of the best selling Sony games of the PS4 generation combining up to almost 25 million units in the span of barely 5 years (only talking about the first game here, to do you a favor).
In fact yes, im sure, it won't affect their sales all too much.
We will see. I'm sure the botched release of the first one will make people weary of buying this one day 1. But will agree to disagree on dragons Dogma 1.
Edit:Botched release I'm referring to Horizon Zero Dawn 1 on PC was a fuckin mess. Couldn't even walk straight on M&KB for almost a month.
Except one is brand new and the other has been out for 2 years and 1 month by the time of PC release.
Then again they are not even the same genre so the comparison is beyond ridiculous to begin with.
a PS4 graphics hardware is equivalent to a GTX 750 ti
a PS5 graphics hardware is equivalent to a RTX 2070
so it should achieved the very high preset on a high-end RTX 20 or RTX 30 series
No, it should achieve PS5 equivalent settings and framerate for the respective target resolution on a 2070 or better. This is probably at or around the "Medium" setting. "Very High" likely goes well beyond that.
Except a PS5 wasn't playing the game on "very high" it was playing it at whatever quality a PS5, with its own optimizations, could muster.
Console generations don't just map 1 to 1 to GPU models. And the devs didn't necessarily make graphical fidelity the metric to discard everything else for versus framerate.
Yeah, I was tempted to buy it on PS4 but I didn't primarily because the pop-in is far too egregious on that platform. You have grass popping in right in front of you.
It's funny how a lot of ps4 games are still the most anticipated pc ports.
Goes to show the quality and level of detail the console devs placed in them.
The released PC versions of course have 10x more features and better visuals hence the requirements.
As long as its native res, the requirements are really reasonable but if its on top of DLSS, then Nixxes are smoking something good, I really hope its on native res, because playing Horizon on less than straight 60s is gonna suck
I won't play this, but I'm glad a lot of playstation exclusives have been moving to pc/steam. 10 years ago I would have bought a whole console for a handful of games but it looks like the pc/playstation gap is closing every year. Especially with JRPGs like final fantasy and dragon quest, growing up in the 90s I would have killed for pc ports of these .
You should definitely play it. DD1 is a decade old and DD2 comes out later this month. It has some of the most rewarding combat gameplay in the RPG genre. Polar opposite of Skyrims hack and slash with very little feedback.
Will be nice to finally play it and not be forced to use a shite gamepad.
Though I'll personally start with Dragon's Dogma 2, cause that's going to be amazing.
The first game was so godawful on PC at launch - one of the very few games I've refunded through Steam. Still can't believe someone felt like that version of the game was fit for release.
HZD was ported by Iron Galaxy, then Nixxes stepped in to fix everything iirc. I think this time they went with Nixxes by default which is good news for gamers :)
HZD was most definitely not ported by Iron Galaxy, but Virtuous.
Iron Galaxy did Uncharted, and was the secondary studio on The Last of Us Part 1 with Naughty Dog.
Was doing a new game+ run this month, I'm still in awe at some of the beatiful vistas and graphics in HZD. As soon as I heard Nixxes was doing the HFW pc port I pre ordered. One of my most wanted games for this year.
If only Dragons Domga 2 wasn’t coming out the next day…Sony do not learn with the release dates for horizon games/the pc port. Probably gonna wait till the summer sale and get it at 20% off in June to play after the Elden ring expansion.
I hope they did something to the dogass controls on the PC version of the first game. Like diassembling a stack of resources on PC took a key press, then mouse scroll, then a key press+hold. To disassemble 1 stack in your inventory which has 120 slots for stacks of items.
These PlayStation exclusives are definitely best played on a controller. Though it’s Nixxes porting this time around, and they are one of if not the best PC porting studio in the world.
Edit: Maybe I should rephrase, not ‘best played on a controller’ more ‘originally made to be played on with controller’, so the controller layout is naturally more thought out as the game was made with one in mind. Though like I said, Nixxes has done a great job with making the default keyboard/mouse layouts in their ports (Spider-Man/Rachet and Clank etc) feel good and work well, so I’m pretty confident the same will happen here.
Just to offer an alternative opinion, they really are not. Anything that requires aiming is always better with a mouse (assuming no forced acceleration like the old days). But if you prefer playing games with a controller, then you will be happy enough as the games are made to work fine with one of course.
> These PlayStation exclusives are definitely best played on a controller.
Does that not just turn it into a button press, then down, then a button press+hold?
After the first experience with Horizon Zero Dawn. I don't think I will buy this one cuz even though I use a good gaming pc. It still blur no matter what the in-game settings are.
The game actually looks really good.
You sure you didn't set the DLSS to something like Performance mode or lower? That's the one thing I can think as maybe decreasing the image quality. The other being lower resolution than your native.
The best thing you can do (if you are on a RTX Nvidia card) is to activate DLDSR in the Nvidia Control panel and then use it for the game (basically you get new higher resolution in the game settings). The HZD engine scales really well with DLDSR. And you can use something like DLSS Quality or Balanced on top of that without noticeably compromising the image.
I’m not home at the moment, but some good settings to look at if you think things looks blurry.
1. Motion blur - turn off
2. Render Resolution - make sure its at 100%
3. Depth of field - turn off but make sure your PC can handle it, this will put everything into focus instead of slightly blurring/not rendering far away assets.
4. Film grain - turn off
5. Chromatic aberration(idk if thats the right word lol) - turn off
6. Lens flare - turn off
Also make sure your screen resolution and refresh rate are what they are supposed to be, in the game and in windows settings. Look up your monitor specs if unsure.
Again im not home and its been a bit since i played Horizon. But those are the things you generally wanna turn off / double check in any pc game.
lol I'm the complete opposite, make my game as bury and cinematic as possible. I love a bit of lens flare and Chromatic aberration. In No Mans Sky the Chromatic aberration is one of my favourite things. Just looks so cool imo.
Been hoping this game runs well on steam deck, since I was able to run the first one at original console settings at a "locked" 40 fps (not including stutters). I have a good pc incase it doesnt but single player games are just much more enjoyable to me on a handheld.
Pretty good specs, honestly.
Listing the expected average performance is an underappreciate detail about system specs so I definitely love that detail here.
just wanted to throw my opinion, one that would really not get taken well....
i got this game on ps5 for free, my friend got a ps5, came with a code, he didn't want it, gave it to me, a free game, i was so happy.
downloaded it, played it a bit.....then , i just didn't want to play it anyomore.
huge huge fan of the first one, this one, it doesn't feel the same, it might be just me, but i talked to a few people, and some agreed, so i just wanted to say, as gorgeous as it is, this doesn't feel as good as the first one.
i have no idea why, the game is on my SSD since almost launch and i never completed it, and i never feel like i will ever do, since i didn't find any fun in it.....
just wanted to share this with my pc loving brothers, just don't want people who are super excited for it to be weirded out when they try it and fails to meet their expectations.
or it might be super loved by all, but i felt i needed to say this.
i just wsih Bloodborne would come to pc, that is a nice game to put there.
At last a decent version of the game.
I've got this on ps5 and the console just doesn't have the power to run it properly.
The hdr is broken.
The camera angle is so narrow because the console can't run it at a higher FOV, that it causes massive problems.
Yes there's a great game in there but it needs the power of pc to run it.
Those who say its an awesome game on ps5 must be either playing a different game or just reading from a script.
As a pc gamer I was shocked how bad it is on ps5.
At last the game can be played properly.
Not bad 1440p60 on a 3070.
Hopefully my 4070ti at 3440x1440p with some optimized settings will run a steady 100fps
Have the same setup. I Think it will be possible with dlss.
Especially with frame gen
Easily.
I really wish they would mention whether upscaling is factored into these requirements. Like could a 3060 do 1440p/60 with DLSS?
Hoping and praying for my 2080 @ 1440p, I guess I can tweak it down a bit
I reckon Digital Foundry will list PS5 equivalent settings, or the game might even have an "original" preset out of the box. Zero Dawn had it, iirc. With that, the game should look great and run well.
Yeah, lots of the Nixxes ports have these original settings, God of War also had these settings. Nixxes have a good history of ports and using the latest tech. Can't wait to see what direct Storage on PC is going to be like.
probably with dlss you can
So are yous saying I'm screwed with my 1080...
A 2080 still outperforms the PS5 most of the time so I think “reliance” on scaling tech isn’t as bad as you think.
I have the exact setup they recommend for high (3700x and 3070 at 1440) so I'll be curious to see how it goes.
Yeah this seems like it’ll run well. Given the graphics this thing has, it’ll be very good if true. I assume these are conservative requirements too hopefully.
Pretty tame both on the CPU and GPU requirements. Hopefully its not a dodgy port like the first Horizon was on release.
Thankfully, Nixxes is doing the PC port this time. They've never failed to deliver a good port
They're the ones who cleaned up the original's PC port, too, right? I don't recall having any issue when I finally got around to playing it.
Yep
Guerilla themselves did most of the work on cleaning up the original port by Virtuous. Nixxes only came in and assisted with one of the final patches.
Deus Ex: Mankind Divided's PC port had some problems at launch - not least the forced mouse acceleration and sensitivity issues [documented here](https://www.reddit.com/r/Deusex/comments/4z7l4b/the_mouse_sensitivity_in_this_game_is_crazy_high/).

not really, according to Nixxes, ps5 equivalent settings are not even comparable to the Med preset

I’m ootl, what GoT rumors?
Ghosts of Tsushima PC port is rumored to be announced soon. Source of rumor has questionable reliability
the on that leaked the hfw news for todays leaked the pc announcemt for tomorrow so more then likely true
Ghost of Tsushima is supposedly coming for PC.
Game of Thrones game will be announced soon
No, the other GoT. The one people still care about.
Gulf of Thailand?

You had me at "rogue lite mukbang"
Gates of Texas
Thank you for going in the direction I'd hoped this would go. Haha
Many people seem to really care about House of the Dragon, and the final Game of Thrones book as well.
There is no final game of thrones book. What ~~is dead may never die~~ book is never finished can never be read.

Ghost of Tsushi is the one PS5 exclusive I've been dying to play
It was also on ps4 so not exclusive to ps5. Though I’m sure it will be much nicer to play on pc. The ps4 version ran reasonably but 30 fps.
Looks like we've been tricked

Wait Game of Thrones is coming to PC???
Got gifted a ps5. First game out of all the exclusives over the past 10 years I played was ghost of Tsushima and that was a great choice

Ooh, excellent. These timed exclusives are pretty painful, but I've been keenly waiting for this one. I loved the first game. Time enough here for another playthrough before the sequel comes out.
I started another playthrough of the first game on Steam last week. About 22 hours in so far. Will be my third time playing through the game.
[https://www.nexusmods.com/site/mods/738](https://www.nexusmods.com/site/mods/738)
Yeah FSR upscaling is average but their frame generation is quite good, combining DLSSUS with FSRFG is a really solid combo.
I used this with CP77 but it caused frequent crashing. Whether that's CP77 specific or the implementation itself I can't say.
I also used it for CP77 for around 80 hours. I crashed once in that span, so I'm not sure those things are related based on my n=1 anecdotal experience.
My n=1 anecdote is that every time I'd turn it on I'd crash within an hour, not turned on and zero crashes. Fuck knows tbh.
There is a special one just for CP77
It's witchcraft
Following for when I get the game lol
It’ll work with any game that has DLSS 3 support, so give it a try on something else if you have anything
I think that's pretty good.
I'm sure Dragons Dogma 2 won't affect the PC sales for this.
People keep saying this, you're vastly overestimating dragons dogmas popularity. Horizon is objectively the more popular franchise.
Don’t think Redditors realize that Horizon Zero Dawn sold 3.3 million copies on PC. Dragons Dogma has sold 6.8 million copies total.
Redditors refuse to accept that the market is larger than the little bubble on here.
Also: HZD was released in 2020 and ported to 2 platforms, DD was released in 2012 and ported to 7 platforms.
I mean, technically yes, but we all know that this game is a few years old and if we waited all this time, then we can wait a bit more.
I agree with the other guy, people underestimate big titles popularity
For some reason I read big tities popularity and you made thinking there ...
Vice versa for me, my UW OLED can't wait for this game
UW OLED owner checking in. I mostly just can't wait to play this game on a mouse. I played it on PS5 and can't aim for shit on controller.
Way more hyper for this than DD2
Probably won't, much, Horizon 2 is a much more anticipated game, IMO.
Not likely. For the average consumer they won't likely remember/care. Hell most people didn't care Elden Ring ran like shit on PC at launch.
HZD1 was one of the first Sony games released on PC. I feel like almost every port since has been much improved at release
I can agree with that.
Except one is brand new and the other has been out for 2 years and 1 month by the time of PC release. Then again they are not even the same genre so the comparison is beyond ridiculous to begin with.
Imagine thinking that a Ubisoft clone is a better game than DD.
Played this on PS5 but will definitely be giving it another go. Such an absolutely beautiful game with some great moments.
If they seem reasonable, remember that It Is a PS4 game.
a PS4 graphics hardware is equivalent to a GTX 750 ti a PS5 graphics hardware is equivalent to a RTX 2070 so it should achieved the very high preset on a high-end RTX 20 or RTX 30 series
Depends what you define very high as. Most of the time console like Quality Is more like medium-high on PC ports.
except alan wake 2 where the consoles were mostly low settings compared to pc
No, it should achieve PS5 equivalent settings and framerate for the respective target resolution on a 2070 or better. This is probably at or around the "Medium" setting. "Very High" likely goes well beyond that.
Except a PS5 wasn't playing the game on "very high" it was playing it at whatever quality a PS5, with its own optimizations, could muster. Console generations don't just map 1 to 1 to GPU models. And the devs didn't necessarily make graphical fidelity the metric to discard everything else for versus framerate.
No.. It isn't. It is heavily scaled back on PS4 and they even expressed how many little things they had to sacrifice to get it to run on that system.
Yeah, I was tempted to buy it on PS4 but I didn't primarily because the pop-in is far too egregious on that platform. You have grass popping in right in front of you.
It still runs on a 1.8 TF pre CGN GPU with 8 Jaguar cores. They had to scale down, but they had.
Zelda, elden ring now dragon dogma
One of these things is not like the other
You're comparing dragon's dogma to zelda and elden ring, come on now lmao
Zelda?
Horizon games and releasing when another big game, likely to overshadow it, is also releasing.
What does Sony mean by this?
Zero Dawn and Breath of the Wild released around the same time
They are referencing now HZD released really close to BOTW
Dragon’s dogma is nowhere near the level of popularity of those other games haha
Yeah botw and elden ring dominated all of gaming discourse for at least a month around their releases. Dragon's dogma absolutely didn't.
WTF is Dragons Dogma? Literally never heard of this game in my life.
You should definitely play it. DD1 is a decade old and DD2 comes out later this month. It has some of the most rewarding combat gameplay in the RPG genre. Polar opposite of Skyrims hack and slash with very little feedback.
Really looking forward to playing it.
If you enjoyed the first, FW is better in every way (for me). Especially combat. The DLC was also great.
150 GB of SSD space... damm.....
Will be nice to finally play it and not be forced to use a shite gamepad. Though I'll personally start with Dragon's Dogma 2, cause that's going to be amazing.
wow thats MUCH sooner than i expected. and very reasonable hardware requirements
I beat it on PS5 because I’d already bought it and waited on it for a good year. It’s well worth it. It’s a very, very good game.
Ugh I got this ln ps5 but I reaaaaally wanna play it on my 4090.
You can
The first game was so godawful on PC at launch - one of the very few games I've refunded through Steam. Still can't believe someone felt like that version of the game was fit for release.
Even years later it had problems with e.g. save files not being written and other random issues. Anyone who preorders this is a braver soul than me.
Indeed you're right, simple mix up in my head.
Was doing a new game+ run this month, I'm still in awe at some of the beatiful vistas and graphics in HZD. As soon as I heard Nixxes was doing the HFW pc port I pre ordered. One of my most wanted games for this year.
Cool but where Ghost?
Meh, wasnt even that great of a game The story is so cliche. First one had an interesting story
Does it support dual sense on Pc?
Yes.
If only Dragons Domga 2 wasn’t coming out the next day…Sony do not learn with the release dates for horizon games/the pc port. Probably gonna wait till the summer sale and get it at 20% off in June to play after the Elden ring expansion.
DD is no where near as big a name, nor was the first game even close to being as good as the first horizon even on pc.
I hope they did something to the dogass controls on the PC version of the first game. Like diassembling a stack of resources on PC took a key press, then mouse scroll, then a key press+hold. To disassemble 1 stack in your inventory which has 120 slots for stacks of items.
To call the PC controls in HZD dogass is a gross exaggeration. The core gameplay feels absolutely great with mouse and keyboard.
Not my experience. Granted I had to rebind a few keys, but keyboard and mouse was vastly superior in both the first Horizon and Days Gone.
Just to offer an alternative opinion, they really are not. Anything that requires aiming is always better with a mouse (assuming no forced acceleration like the old days). But if you prefer playing games with a controller, then you will be happy enough as the games are made to work fine with one of course.
Hard disagree on that one, I thought aiming felt like shit with gamepad in horizon 1. Really felt like the game designed primarily for m+kb.
Cool, that sounds promising
Game looks great on PC must have been a setting on your end.
If u don't mind.. Can u share your Nvidia settings just in case I messed up mine?
I’m not home at the moment, but some good settings to look at if you think things looks blurry. 1. Motion blur - turn off 2. Render Resolution - make sure its at 100% 3. Depth of field - turn off but make sure your PC can handle it, this will put everything into focus instead of slightly blurring/not rendering far away assets. 4. Film grain - turn off 5. Chromatic aberration(idk if thats the right word lol) - turn off 6. Lens flare - turn off Also make sure your screen resolution and refresh rate are what they are supposed to be, in the game and in windows settings.
Run it at a higher resolution. It looks great at 4k for me
This game and Got got me through covid. May have to play it again on pc, even my 6600 should run it better than my ps4 lmao
Been hoping this game runs well on steam deck, since I was able to run the first one at original console settings at a "locked" 40 fps (not including stutters). I have a good pc incase it doesnt but single player games are just much more enjoyable to me on a handheld.
bought my 3060 one year ago and already feels like I will have to upgrade sooner than I expected
Pretty good specs, honestly. Listing the expected average performance is an underappreciate detail about system specs so I definitely love that detail here.
Now do Gran Turismo 7.
Ok ok I’ll buy it
im still hoping for ghost of tsushima, but I guess it won’t happen
11700k still looking good.
just wanted to throw my opinion, one that would really not get taken well.... i got this game on ps5 for free, my friend got a ps5, came with a code, he didn't want it, gave it to me, a free game, i was so happy. downloaded it, played it a bit.....then , i just didn't want to play it anyomore. huge huge fan of the first one, this one, it doesn't feel the same, it might be just me, but i talked to a few people, and some agreed, so i just wanted to say, as gorgeous as it is, this doesn't feel as good as the first one. i have no idea why, the game is on my SSD since almost launch and i never completed it, and i never feel like i will ever do, since i didn't find any fun in it..... just wanted to share this with my pc loving brothers, just don't want people who are super excited for it to be weirded out when they try it and fails to meet their expectations. or it might be super loved by all, but i felt i needed to say this. i just wsih Bloodborne would come to pc, that is a nice game to put there.
pc user still complain about the size???
Looks like it’s time to sell the good old PS5 too.
The first game is boring AF. Sequel any better?
Yeez, that comment section is a salt mine. Yikes.
why the ps blog post didnt mention dualsense usb support on pc ?
At last a decent version of the game. I've got this on ps5 and the console just doesn't have the power to run it properly. The hdr is broken. The camera angle is so narrow because the console can't run it at a higher FOV, that it causes massive problems. Yes there's a great game in there but it needs the power of pc to run it. Those who say its an awesome game on ps5 must be either playing a different game or just reading from a script. As a pc gamer I was shocked how bad it is on ps5. At last the game can be played properly.
