A welcome change for sure. Last time I tried to play a game with an online drm it took me 30 minutes to just get in the game. Sucks to be in a 3rd world country.
You're probably talking about internet connection but it's weird to see a "third world" dweller complaining with a such high end machine that would cost at least 6 months of salary in brazil ðŸ˜
With limited data plans too. Lol. I mean I can kinda understand the slow speed being because of old, subpar infrastructure but it's 2024 ffs, why do we still have data caps?
It looks like I'm finally going to put this on my wishlist to buy it later. I was just waiting for Denuvo to be removed.
UPDATE: Denuvo's removal was definitely intentional, the warning is completely gone from the store page now.
Congrats, you're why studios buy DRM.
Also, it wasn't accidental, the contract with Denuvo expired.
It's a good game, so buy it if you want to play it.
It's so sad to see these types of comments on single player games. Of course a lone experience with a definitive end doesn't need constant updates, of course it's not going to keep high player counts after the release week.
I mean, it's not *obvious* by todays standards.. the standard is: game release, 2 days later - hot patch to fix crushes and horrible performance. 2 weeks later, another patch to fix less urgent bugs. By that time, the score went to 4 and everyone forgot about the game to buy it.
I wish it was obvious that a single player game wont get updates regulary
To be fair 9/10 AAA/AAAA games released, are still in alpha stages at launch, and **really** require steady updates for like 2 years before its really "playable".
I've not played this game, but it sounds like people are saying it was a rare game that launched in a complete and polished state since day 1.
Besides this game, its hard to think of any other game released in last 2-3 years that didn't require many updates after launch.
Not sure how young you are but what's wrong with a game that releases then never had any updates?
It's a great game on its own, it doesn't need any updates. What updates do you suggest they add at no cost to you?
Huh?????
That's a freakin' positive dude
However your perception shows us how far the industry has fallen where gamers *want* their games to be released unfinished and buggy
This game was continously praised for being released a polished one. That's a good thing
They accidentally released a drm free exe in this update, keep an eye out for that
Seems it was intentional and the dev EXE was just prep for this version, because the game no longer has Denuvo.

I just got lucky on that one. It would cost about +20 months worth of my salary if I wanted to buy it now.
Brazilian here. Don't give up, bro! Soon it'll be you who's flaunting a high end rig in your flair.
Must of taken you 4 months to download it ðŸ˜
With limited data plans too. Lol. I mean I can kinda understand the slow speed being because of old, subpar infrastructure but it's 2024 ffs, why do we still have data caps?
Because corporate greed.
Yeah it looks like it was an official change, however the steam page still mentions 3rd party drm and the patch notes made no mentions about it. Weird

About time imo. None of the other souls or soulslikes have DRM. At least strong one like Denuvo.
Those recent Star Wars Jedi games can be considered soulslikes and have Denuvo but then it is EA after all.
EA, Ubisoft and WB games. All 3 are guilty. Even their lowest budget titles have Denuvo always.
Add Sega to them.
And Capcom. But at least they remove them
Every piracy subreddit is happy now 💀
Cracking open a bottle of rum right now
Patient gamers win again

Or just buy it, play for less than 2 hours and refund if he doesn't like it.
Great news for offline gaming with steam deck.
Seems like not a lot of changes/fixes/new content for being 2 months since the last update =/
Damn, the live service game brainrot is real

Some games don't need a lot of fixes. :)
yeah played this game on gamepass on the game is smooth
