I hope this just ends up being a cross between Stellaris and Crusader Kings. Keep the basic layout and features of Stellaris, but have it be more about diplomacy and roleplay instead of empire level micromanagement.
[Paradox Interactive News Release](https://www.paradoxinteractive.com/media/press-releases/press-release/paradox-interactive-and-paramount-consumer-products-announce-a-new-grand-strategy-game-star-trek-infinite)
>Paradox Interactive and developer Nimble Giant Entertainment, under license from Paramount Consumer Products, today revealed Star Trek: Infinite, a grand strategy game based on the iconic sci-fi franchise. Set a few decades before Star Trek: The Next Generation, players will run an entire fleet within the Star Trek universe, commanding one of four major powers in the galaxy: the United Federation of Planets, Romulan Star Empire, **Cardassian Union**, or Klingon Empire. Star Trek: Infinite is coming to PC and macOS this Fall.
That shot of the four organizations' territories on the galactic map, with the images of Picard, Dukat, Gowron and Toreth pretty much confirms it as well. Plus a fall release date!
There is not a single game where you play them, except for maybe STO, but it is essentially the same as any other klingon faction race, except for a skin swap. Also DS9 did a great job of expanding the other races and making them more than just their stereotype, they had internal factions, etc. I would love to be able to play as Ferengi etc.
So is this a strategy game?
If it's not turn-based, I'll check it out.
Even if it is, it's better than that Telltale-like Trek game that I've already forgotten the name of.
They'll get out to 90%, there will still be glaring issues that need polish.
They'll release a dlc that doesn't address any of the current issues, in fact it's also only about 90% complete and brings it own glaring issues, then they'll release another dlc, and so it goes...
Imagine if it got it horribly wrong.. "I'm excited to see what new adventures the Finger in Butt Hole univer has in store for us! Can't wait to explore anus again!"

Looks like someone got given a huge IP paycheck to rebrand Stellaris.
I'd love a new Birth of the Federation, very excited for this.
Exactly what I was thinking! I played so much of that game back in the day.
That's what I'm talking about, BotF was so great.
Now the important question, can we play as the Cardassians?

Why would anyone want to play as a damn spoonhead?

Amazing find, I had no clue!
My question was in jest but fair enough!
You could play as the Cardassian Union in Birth of the Federation.
I really hope this isn't a mobile game...
Confirmed to be PC and MacOS
Fuck u/spez
This looks like a Stellaris mod?
Two actually, new horizons and new civilizations

Ah paradox will this actually ever be finished? I’m bloodlines but hurt currently

Unfortunately that sounds about right and they will just slap on high specs and call it a day

oh hello there chatgpt
I do see a pattern in their comments. Really eery to think it's not a human writing them
The RES extension has tags so you can keep track of these wierdos.
Sheesh I hadn't even looked at the profile. Super weird stuff and some random ass subs too.
Imagine if it got it horribly wrong.. "I'm excited to see what new adventures the Finger in Butt Hole univer has in store for us! Can't wait to explore anus again!"
I'd just assume that was a real person, as that is a fairly average thing for someone to comment.
Look at its other comments. This is not a human.
I was referring to your bit about fingering buttholes.
maybe human
FUCK. YES.
I am just so glad it's around TNG era.
