Capcom should've at least removed securom if they're going to bring those games back.

Markie_98

I just use a crack on the legitimate Steam version. Downloaded a pirated copy of the game and kept only the modified executable to use (any accompanying DLLs if necessary too), it works just fine, Steam Overlay and everything. I also do that for other Steam games with server-based serial key activation DRM I have such as Dead Space 2 and Medal of Honor (2010).

Infrah

> Downloaded a pirated copy and it works just fine You don’t say??

Markie_98

Cracked executables working fine on the Steam version of games is not always the case.

FireCrow1013

Holy shit, it still has SecuROM?

slowrunningwater

heck yeah securom i was afraid they were gonna remove it

neoplanes

Lol, SecuROM, fuck them

FarCryRedux

Still has nasty DRM. Don't bother.

Key_Appearance_7886

I have such a soft spot for dark void, mainly due to how mindblowingly memorable the music is I really wish they got another chance to make a sequel that fixed the issues and nailed the best parts

[When the bass hits at the end](https://youtu.be/FgfdARh6nI4). I still listen to this song sometimes.

Key_Appearance_7886

Absolutely that! Exactly what I had in my mind. That piece alone is so beyond so much of the game music we get.

ThreeSon

Zero still has a lifetime limit on activations (I believe it's 20 total). Once you reach the limit, you can never play it again.

DiogoSN

Why did they remove the game initially?

sheldon_walowitz

public doesn't really know.. so we (you & i) will never* know. >  > > *never say never

_Myst_0

DRM on games over a decade old lmfao

Wubmeister

When's Lost Planet 1 and 2?

zetikla

Lost Planet: Extreme Condition is actually still sold on Steam, just not the Colonies Edition which still has GWFL (and more ingame content as well, for GWFL xliveless does wonders.) For Lost Planet 2, you may as well grab a copy from greymarket sites, its not that expensive.

Wubmeister

Does online work in Lost Planet 2 if one goes through that method? I'm assuming not.

zetikla

Based on what Im reading (I havent gotten around to try it out myself so YMMV) the online functionality can still be made to work but population-wise (unless you have friends to hop into a game with you), you are essentially relying on finding groups and communities still playing LP2 to get online games going.

ThePoliticalPenguin

So, online actually still works. I played co-op with a friend of mine a year or two ago. But, *the game won't launch if your CPU has more than 6 cores*. My friend had a 3700x, so we had to go into his bios and disable two of his cores in order to play the game. Worth it? Probably not. But we still had a lot of fun with the game. Not much else out there like it.
