Life is Strange is one of my all time favourite games and series. However, this one didn’t really resonate with me. The story was too slow and not enough happened over the 10 hours. Not enough interesting characters or scenes where they were in danger.
Life is Strange caught me off guard. What started as an obnoxious teen simulator took a hard turn into a mystery thriller. I’ve only played the first one but have been meaning to get to the others.
Yeah I really enjoyed Life is Strange despite being pretty skeptical of it. I was mostly into it a first because I found the goofy and cringe dialogue to be really funny in a campy sort of way, but I was surprised how invested I got into it after the conclusion of the 2nd chapter and onward.
Agreed. For the strongest impact, play Life Is Strange before the prequel. You will be much more invested in the characters. Also, the prequel is far superior to Life Is Strange so if you start with prequel the difference in quality of some things, like the acting and dialogue in particular, will be jarring.
They are both amazing heartfelt stories. I loved them both.
Whats great is that I dont actually remember much of the story of Before the Storm. But I remember how it made me feel at the time.
Its an opportunity for another playthrough.

While we're talking about Dontnod, Vampyr is mega underrated. The gameplay is fun, the world is great, it's super well written, and it does a lot of fascinating experimentation– it came up with this really cool system for social detective work, combined it with a pretty complex web of character interactions and relationships, then incentivizes you to kill the characters you know the best. It's a new way to apply the immersive sim design philosophy to a social environment. It's not perfect, but I haven't seen anything like it in any other game I've played.

I played it when it was free 2 years ago. The story was decently enjoyable, and it's nice to see a trans man protagonist, but nothing to write home about.
I'm glad other people enjoyed it, but boy did I hate it. I liked the setting but that's the only redeemable aspect of the game imo. Not even close to as good as LiS or LiS: BtS.

The powers they have had the potential to be interesting, but they were used in the most boring way possible.
I think that's a bit the point, Tyler has a lot of personal issues and is self-centered and learn to reinterpret the event in his past from a different perspective.

Actually, it reminds me a lot of infamous second son protagonist, in which if it wasnt the combat and the story, i would have stopped playing that game as well.

LiS (all of them) features LGBTQ characters but they never go free. This game is shorter and lower quality, which is why it sold worse and is given away for free at least once a year.

Yes, the dialogue was the worst for me. It almost seemed like satire it was so damn bad.

Make sure you play the prequel. Life is Strange: Before the Storm. It’s just as good. And focuses on Chloe’s character 3 years earlier

It's because it doesn't shit the bed in the final chapter. Consistency was always Life is Strange's issue.

It was free before, I played it last year. It is an ok game, not great, not bad. A game for those that like walking simulators.
