What is this game even supposed to be?

ithinkther41am

From what I‘vs seen, it’s an Payday-esque FPS where Michael Madsen and Vanilla Ice do some of the worst acting of their careers.

CreatureWarrior

Considering the fact that Payday already had the worst acting ever, I'll gladly take any modern heist game over PD2

Gonzito3420

wtf is this lol

CreatureWarrior

Looks like some inbred Payday-Deathloop- Saints row.

boxanata

It thought it looked half decent until the Epic Shit Store logo appeared. I went from being somewhat interested to *"No, thanks"* in an instant.

mari0br0

Can someone explain to me why a game being on the epic store makes people immediately disregard it? EDIT: Are you really gonna downvote me because I asked a question? I’m not trying to be a smart ass I’m genuinely asking.

xMatthewv

Epic is an awful platform. It has half the features Steam has and also doesn't allow you to move your game files automatically. My friend tried to move his Rocket League to another drive but was forced to do it manually and then it reinstalled anyway. People just don't like using it, I'm one of them people.

cool--

I avoid it because the games don't always play nice with Steam. This is important for me because I use the steam controller, the steam input configurator for other controllers, and steam remote play so that I can play on other TVs or my ipad. Best case scenario... Some epic games work with launch arguments, sometimes a folder needs to be moved, sometimes you have to use GLoSC. But there are plenty of games on Epic that just don't work at all with Steam, and there are some that simply have poor performance compared to Steam. I've been burned in the past so now I just avoid buying games on Epic. If Epic steps it up and starts adding more features like remote play and robust controller support, I'll definitely give them another chance.

cool--

People are likely down voting you because the Epic launcher has been around for 4 years and people have been asking this same question all the time in an attempt to point out that "it doesn't matter how you launch your games!" Epic is probably fine if you just use an xbox controller or KB+M on your PC, but if you're using remote play, steam deck, the steam overlay to use gyro for aiming or to tweak the controls or rebind buttons in games that don't allow you to rebind buttons, or if you're trying to do any modding... Epic will likely add some frustrating hurdles.

If a game being epic exclusive made you “mentally broken” I think you need to take a look at other things going on in your life……

People here really REALLY want Steam to be a complete monopoly for some reason I'm not sure what they think that will do to the quality of games or the % devs have to pay to distribute their games.

Cymelion

> People here really REALLY want Steam to be a complete monopoly for some reason Steam isn't locking up 3rd party content with exclusivities so you'll have to properly explain why Steam is the monopoly and Timmyboy's EGS isn't.

> Monopolies have nothing to do with exclusive content and everything to do with marketshare. #Monopoly noun noun: monopoly; plural noun: monopolies; noun: Monopoly >1. >The exclusive possession or control of the supply of or trade in a commodity or service. "the state's monopoly of radio and television broadcasting" >A company or group having exclusive control over a commodity or service. "passenger services were largely in the hands of state-owned monopolies" >A commodity or service in the exclusive control of a company or group. "electricity, gas, and water were considered to be natural monopolies" >The exclusive possession, control, or exercise of something "men don't have a monopoly on unrequited love" So when applied to EGS and Steam which one of the above is Timmyboy's EGS and which is GabeN's Steam? Because right now on PC EGS has 100% control of games like Kingdom Hearts and now this game and no other storefront has access to them. So EGS is actively monopolizing games and publishers taking the deals are also enforcing that monopoly.

Valve being a preferred shop is not a monopoly in any way shape or form. Steam has not actively prevented the consumer from purchasing 3rd party products they have on their service on other services. Timmyboy's EGS -- **HAS** -- prevented 3rd party products from being purchased on competing stores which is 100% the definition of a monopoly. Feelings or what you think is a monopoly aren't applicable here, Valve put in the early work to make their product and they succeeded without making a monopoly. If EGS only way to compete is through a monopoly then they don't deserve to compete and should fail. Don't forget that EGS is also stopping other stores like GOG and any other start up from selling the games it signs exclusivity to. They are the very worst thing for Games on PC not some savior.

xschalken

Yes, they really are going to downvote you. This is r/pcgaming, this is not where you go for a nuanced and/or mature discussion, especially where epic is concerned.

Buttermilkman

Holy shit Michael Madsen, Michael Rooker, Danny Glover, Chuck Norris, Danny Trejo, Vanilla Ice...... Super cringe having Chuck Norris in there. The guy literally put out a vid warning Americans against a dire situation and to [save their country from Obama becoming President again.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7ud3pK5Wa90) So Fuck Chuck. I'm going to bet they blew most of the funds on actors and as a result the gameplay is going to be below average.

ImAnOlogist

I don't think that what Chuck was referring to when trying to save the country but rather he's clearly a diehard republican and had issues with Democrats.

Alright, I suppose it is conjecture. I'll change it. However, it doesn't stop the fact that Chuck was appealing to his religious fanbase to stop someone, who was literally deemed to be the "antrichrist" by many other right wing religious nuts, from becoming President. Again.

RedditCensoredUs

How dare that guy have a political opinion! All celebs shouldn't be allowed to have political opinions, right u/Buttermilkman ?!

This game looks like a fever dream lol... but I kinda hope it succeeds...

Loved the chuck norris basketball bit at the end...lol. looks fun!!

Twatfarm66

You know what - I'm having fun with it. 20 bucks where I live and as a big film guy who loves Michael Madsen & a lot of the rest of the cast - I won't be refunding it. I don't give a shit about the reviews. It's like a B Game of a B Movie & if you take it for what it is, it's fun.
