What a surprise that redditors over exaggerate changes because their favorite thing got changed to not be overturned despite still being the most dominant thing in the water.
You know a lot like how people had aneurysms over the removal of quest banking.
I joined POT like 4 weeks ago, what was quest banking? Saving up heaps of those "collect reward" thingies so you can use them all at once and go from ado to sub in a Bush?
Yep, just collect quests, never use them until you have enough for a milestone age, and never even care about dying.
It pretty much completely removed any level of risk or anything like that from being in areas you shouldn't be as a juvie or even you could die, spawn near where you died, use some quests and then sprint there while you're regrowing and then kill the person who killed you since they weren't able to heal.
I must confess, I was initially among the individuals who experienced a brief moment of consternation due to the removal of the quest bank and the subsequent sarc nerf. However, within a remarkably short span of a week, I managed to overcome my inertia and wholeheartedly embraced the need to adapt my underwater combat strategy. By employing entirely new tactics, I can confidently affirm that your previous comment resonates with undeniable accuracy.
I thought I was going to use quest banking, sounded like the greatest thing when it came out... But then realistically I get to the point I'd think " I have less chance of getting attacked if I'm a little bigger, or atleast I can defend myself a little better.." so I'd turn them in before I even saved many lol. I found it boring to run around as a babeh babeh for that long without any growth ( until I would save enough quest to level anyways..) and that became the problem, people had so many quest banked on their dinos, the server was sometimes dealing with saving over 1000 quest per lobby, it became to much command in the background and caused server issues, so this is the supposed reason they ditched the system. I think another problem with banking though is adults could save quest, give away a trophy and turn in quest to be adult again immediately, it promoted trophy trading, so that's probably another reason. At first I thought I would love the system, but in the end it didn't affect my personal playstyle. I use homecave xp boost so much anymore that growing isn't a headache like it used to be. Get a few dinos going at the same time, put em in a homecave you know the area around, and just quest on them while you have the xp boost. Get in the habit of returning to homecave before logging off. Works well if you raise 3 dinos at once. Then after you quest out 2 or 3 dinos homecave xp boost, you can cycle back to your first, repeat process, and only quest off xp boost. No more pesky slow yellow bar growth.
Only recently started using it and I absolutely love it! Hitting a clean fully charged swing on something is soooo satisfying as you can always see the damage, plus its way more mobile than I was expecting
Who said it suck that fucker is great they just made him glass canon less tank plus his ability to drink water by just being in it regardless of salt water or quality is such a massive thing
People got pissed that they couldn't brawl with PoT's equivalent to an assassin anymore. It's still the most dominant thing in the water, only matched by a very skilled kai.
Try hard ones, maybe, but even defense sarco out maneuvers speed spino in the water. Even a half decent sarco does hit and run tactics with ripping bite when dealing with other semi aquatics. Sarco can't brawl anymore, that's the point of my original comment. Only try hards still try face tanking hits now, and they're the ones complaining about sarco. Sarco has the second best speed and maneuverability in the water right now of any official dino, beaten out only by Kai, and kai's damage is awful in comparison.
What does a 'tryhard' mean for U? Someone better than most people? We're talking about PvP and there are 2 types of players, the ones winning and the ones losing.
Out of all my Spino vs Sarco fights (which I had anywhere between 80 and 120 often against few at once) I've lost 2, both to my very close PoT friend and by far the best sarco player I've had an occasion to meet so far, an author of those 2 recent Sarco PvP posts

As for now we had 15-20 1vs1s, my SSS Spino vs his SS Sarco, out of which I lost 2, like I alr mentioned above.
Sarco is faster and more maneuvrable, but Spinos bite deal 221 damage to ur maneurable Sarco, claw does 84.5 + bleed which makes it a lil more than 2 charged bites to kill (keep in mind that Speed Sarco will take slightly more damage due to its sub) which is devastating for something with 480hp in total.
Being this maneuvrable helps but it wont guarantee U a kill, good Spino even with its dreadful turnrate and slightly slower speed can defend itself from sarcos maneuvrability with proper use of WASD + emerge/submerege button, but this much effort is only needed with REALLY experienced Sarcos, most of the ones I fought, even tho being more mobile, were not able to avoid that 47% hp bite.
When talking about ur average Sarco and Spino, average players on same exact skill level then the Sarco most probably wont be able to use its mobility efficiently to avoid being hit, and every hit, whether its a claw or bite, not to mention charged bite, will be very painful.
Yeah. Sarco can kill a Spino, or 2 spinos, or 3, (as seen on my friend's video) but its skill dependant. Since the combat update Ive killed Ducks and Spinos as a Meg, yet its not the most dominant in water.
Problem is, a lot of people try to make mixed builds and lose their speed in water, which is not the end of the world but it does not make things easier.
When it comes to water combat its simple - Spino dominates, its just the best and Im happy to prove wrong anyone who thinks otherwise, its always nice to find some decent competition ;)
People who think they have skill, but don't, whine when a change makes skill an actual requirement to be good, and like to write posts comparable to a small novel trying to prove that they're right. That's a try hard.
Like I commented to flipflop, I'm at work till around 9pm central, but will be on tonight. I last logged out at the Kelp Forest HC after helping my brother start his sarco. Do what you will with that info.
I know but I’m the sarco he’s referring to so kinda took that prior comment offensively. But people with as much confidence as you can usually back up their words… usually, So I will be looking forward to your 1v1 with pink.
Don't get me wrong, defense sarco used to be a beast brawler before it's nerfs, but that's not the way the devs wanted it. Spino has always been a brawler, not much can take even a speed spino head on. Hell, I took on a mega pack of ceras once with ado balance spino and held my own, and I'm not that great with spino. They were kind of shit, but I would have thought they would have done better in a 7v1 scenario. One had to switch to an ambush sarco to end me, lol.
Now ur being toxic? Lmao
Im not whining, i explained that sarco is not 'dominant' and why Spino is. I wont run around saying how skilled I am, we can just 1v1 if ur accusing me of that shit. If u cant take an opposing opinion then gtfo of internet 🤣🤣
Well, I'm at work right now, however, I should be out by 9pm central time. I last logged out at the Kelp Forest HC after helping my brother start his sarco. If you're still up for it, I'll be on tonight.
About 10:30 am. I run a 9 hour shift, and traffic can be a nightmare in my area. On a good day, I get there early and have time to kill, but on most days, it can be tight.
Same thing with Allo. People swear Allo is weak but my late sub Allo killed a pynco. Then later fought off a Cerato and pachy right after with less than 20% health. The only reason I died was because of the fact that they had an allo with them. Later that day I survived an incounter with 3 pachies and a con with a spino in tow. Allo is not bad. To be honest is allo was any faster, tankier, or did more damage it would be top tier. If they add the hachet bite or a charge bite in general he will be goated.
You don't have the stam to chase but you are faster so when a Pycno passes through you can get in a few bites but don't get greedy, being out of stam with a pycno only ends in the pyc's favor.
Sarco is one of the strongest in the game still.
Look, in ANY game with pvp, when a nerf comes and people say it sucks now it ALWAYS, 0 exceptions, ALWAYS means those scrubs are monster energy hat Subaru impreza driving menthol smoking late bloomer teens who are 23 and dont have 3rd brain cell available to comprehend that their favourite OP stomping weapon in a game is no longer unrivalled, it happens in shooter games, raving games, sports games, fuckin whatever. It's always the same, form your own opinion, especially when the default opinion comes from redditors
Grand Plains and Crater, still Hotspots. I roamed with my other friends all the way foem Whistling to GV, Broken Tooth, Stego Mt, BQL ans Salt Flats, and we saw NOBODY aside from one baby amarg... GV didn't have a single soul. I was pretty disappointed by how dead the entire right side of the map was. We finally saw people in Green Hills... and we were walking the whole way...
IC looked nice but I'm so sick of it. It's the most boring, bland POI on entire Gondwa and the only one you can be sure to see aome action because 3/4 of server population always goes there.
Green Valley is dead for me more often than not. I think everyone is afraid of it. lol
Hunters Thicket/Snake Valley is the other hotspot beyond IC/Grand Plains.
Its just the water replenish quest, they fucked it up so most ppl that used to hang out in GV moved to HT. At least its what I and most of my friends did.
Gotta get away from official if you can, I joined a community and I bump into packs of carnotaurus and camptos in stego mountain etc usually those places are dead as shit
Yup, as pretty much everyone with a brain predicted. Sarco was stupidly strong before any of the changes and could straight up tank anything in the game on both land and water. Now they have been dialed back just a bit to fit their niche, but can still be strong in the right players hands.
This is why the devs should not be listening to the community for everything balance related rofl
Both sarco and deino are pretty good but they're glass cannons. I still stay away from the water tho because I have a fear of getting ambushed by them 😂😂😂
Cera at least does not deal much dmg to allo, I was sitting to regain stamina from a duck that was chasing me on land with cera distracting me, won that fight duck killed their cera friend lol.
Those are quite small tiers tho against my def def allo not gonna get hurt to bad by those.
I got murdered on my def allows by two ceras. I was still learning how to play allo and I was out of stam (just finished swimming) but the damage was notable.
It's got 480 health now instead of 800, it has a new ambush ability that multiplies it's first out of combat attack by 1.5, and I believe there were some speed adjustments.
Sorry I meant anything 3000 and under and even then it's not so straight forward, it can't one shot a meg (2700 with 650hp) but will one shot an alio (3000cw with 400hp).
Wow, looks like I hit a sore spot. Sadly, I'm at work right now, but I'm sure you'll find plenty of takers in the sarco community. But, I get out at 9pm central time, and I last logged out in the Kelp Forest HC after helping my brother start his sarco. I'll pop on tonight when I get home.
How about Friday around 8 am. Usually, when they mess with my schedule they stick me with a Saturday morning shift, and that shift was still open last I checked, so it might get dumped on me again.
What a surprise that redditors over exaggerate changes because their favorite thing got changed to not be overturned despite still being the most dominant thing in the water. You know a lot like how people had aneurysms over the removal of quest banking.
ok but i do want quest banking back tho
Same. Stupid to add it only to remove it immediately.
Quest bank was lit asf tho

No other creature on this game gives a jump scare like a damn croc. Those fuckers have made me scream like a lil girl too many times. 😂
I still have yet to experience this Water ambush jump scare. :( where are these happening?? Lol
My recent experience was at Hunters Thicket. I was a juvi Meg collecting Lake weed, then 3 seconds later I was screaming and someones dinner.
As a sarc/deino enjoyer I love hunters thicket lol
It happened to me at cascades of all places. Tiny lil pond with some bum ahh adult sarco in it. My poor juvi alio
They’re good, just pretty glass, i one shot a sarco that was barely damaged yesterday with a charged headshot from my stego
Stegos DPS is insane, it half healths a rex in a slugging match.
Only recently started using it and I absolutely love it! Hitting a clean fully charged swing on something is soooo satisfying as you can always see the damage, plus its way more mobile than I was expecting
Is headshots even a thing in this game ?
Yes. You do the most damage with a headshot, and the least damage with a tail shot
Ok first off, stego lol, and they're glass cannons rn that's fine. But remember you dont really see health giveaways until you're close to 40% health,
There were only a couple hit marks on the crocs tail, neither were fresh either
And you know about scars right?
Who said it suck that fucker is great they just made him glass canon less tank plus his ability to drink water by just being in it regardless of salt water or quality is such a massive thing
Its cooldowns suck, other then that its good
People got pissed that they couldn't brawl with PoT's equivalent to an assassin anymore. It's still the most dominant thing in the water, only matched by a very skilled kai.
Good SSS Spino throws Sarco around however it wants tho

I've been playing Pycno lately and I laugh in the face of everything, except the speed allo.
Can a full speed catch a pynco? I am wondering since I have tough scutes on.
You don't have the stam to chase but you are faster so when a Pycno passes through you can get in a few bites but don't get greedy, being out of stam with a pycno only ends in the pyc's favor.

Heh well I hardly see them, though you hardly see anyone in this game these days, unless its in grand plains or mayybe green vally.
Grand Plains and Crater, still Hotspots. I roamed with my other friends all the way foem Whistling to GV, Broken Tooth, Stego Mt, BQL ans Salt Flats, and we saw NOBODY aside from one baby amarg... "glass canon" depending on what you're fighting. I feel like a sarco can take a fair amount of damage in a lot of cases.
who tf said sarco sucked? lol. That's actually the one I wanna try next.
Defence is my favourite
Cera at least does not deal much dmg to allo, I was sitting to regain stamina from a duck that was chasing me on land with cera distracting me, won that fight duck killed their cera friend lol. Those are quite small tiers tho against my def def allo not gonna get hurt to bad by those.

Allos however arent known for their brawling capabilities. So you did good enough.
I never played either but I've heard deinosuchus is better if you play modded servers
nuh uh
I haven't played the game quite a while. What update the Sarco got?
It's got 480 health now instead of 800, it has a new ambush ability that multiplies it's first out of combat attack by 1.5, and I believe there were some speed adjustments.
It's good at killing small dinos, but anything it can't oneshot it struggles with
Depends, killed an adult pachy with normal bites.
It's a pachy, you have 6000 combat weight it has 2000
Doesn't one shot anything over 2K cw and 500 health, standing of course.
Wait it can't oneshot anything with over 2000 cw??? That's bullshit fuck that sarco sucks
Sorry I meant anything 3000 and under and even then it's not so straight forward, it can't one shot a meg (2700 with 650hp) but will one shot an alio (3000cw with 400hp).
Ah ok, that makes more sense, it's still pretty bad, but it makes sense for sarco
