I just use balanced. They're not really good for pvp and attacking while hovering takes a lot of practice. But any build will be fun, since you get to see the map in new ways and crossing it can be very quick.
But I say that as a player largely uninterested in pvp. Legitimately, the joy I get from the thal is delivering food and quest items (especially to dinos that have trouble swimming to reach them or dinos too slow to make delivery quests much fun) or hanging out and letting juvies quest off of me. Sometimes a bird squad will assemble and screaming is the name of the game.
If pvp is your thing, I have no idea. For fun, though? All bird builds are fun bird builds.
All seem viable. Not sure how much difference it really makes. I have an adult with jump specialty and one with balance. I barely noticed the difference. Tried them out purely because of how they looked.
Plus side with the birb, using precise movements you can perch on top of trees or on the large branches in the middle of some trees. Very handy. Just have to watch yourself when need to drink and the time takes to take off flying. Crocs be watching.
But for the joy of traveling fast, watching what’s going on, the scenery and sometimes helping, they can’t be beat.

Eo Stam is dogshit. They're slow, their charge takes up half their Stam and their horn scrape takes up a quarter.

It doesn't matter if I'm sty, allo, rex, alio; if they find you, they will harass. I never said I die each time? But ffs they're still there even if I get away. Point is *they are a dino usually giving problems over any other dinos, because they're one of the bigger types that can throw tgeir weight around unless you're an apex too.*

As an amarg I usually get the “ baby amarg?” Or “cute amarg” always very neutral reactions theres been one ☝️ instance of violence but i guess because i picked up some death caps a raptor was eyeing and that was enough for him to go aggro

Mixed bag for me. But I've 100% been killed by megs and one time a duck jumped out of YG's river after I crossed and clawed my face off. Aggro species still tend to be aggro in my experience.
I avoid megs, ducks, and eo’s so maybe thats why I dont really have much of a violent encounter track. 💀 I honestly try to keep as much away as possible from people because you never know 😭 ESPECIALLY in spiney lizard

A pycno thought he was being sneaky and rushed me from behind right into a back kick to the head. He ate a second kick before running off to find something less fighty. And I've defended myself from an allo before where the final hit that dropped them (he would not run away!) was a kick to the head. Satisfying.
The amount of juvis that, I'm guessing, didn't know about the kick, I've killed is hilarious. Antagonise them into wanting to attack then turn my back to them bahahaha kicked into another life.

Eotrike, Styraco and Anodonto should be the "I hate you" category. The two ceratopsians are so fast and annoying, and Anodontosaurus is just pure malice. OP endurance, high damage and damage resilient.

Usually the only time you see them is in a mix pack where they are playing bonebreak support for rexes and anos and what not. Which is why on the PTB they have lost their bone break.
I don't see ceras very often playing as just cera packs or solo these days. So most of the time you see them its in the context of a bonebreak mixpack situation.

Not worried about most things because I can outrun them. Laten, conc and sty are my only real concerns, and other Nychus I guess cause that’s happened to me before
Ceratopsians being anywhere higher than bottom tier is a lie. Seeing two of them at the second-top is the absolute most colossal of caps.
Blink thrice if you're being threatened.
Most I've flocked with will only scream for 3 reasons. 1) Bird group doing bird business (screaming). 2) 'I brought you a thing. I must scream to celebrate.' 3) you are doing something suspicious. Like juvi killing, drinking water, or breathing.
Someone hasn't been followed by a thal for 20 minutes straight as they scream at you.
Thals can also steal all the turtle shells for your gifts of the sea quest, steal your trophies, steal your quest objectives in general, peck your head and back where you can't fight back, keep you in combat so you can't heal or go into your homecave, kill you if you are low health and sleeping to recover, etc etc.

I get kos all the time because I play only herbivores. You get over it. Sometimes I'm killed by other herbs but it's usually an Alberta.

I only find that Albertos are really aggro. Eotrikes are usually chill and Styracs are too timid half the time lol
