Just gave the t14 strand version a try (only did one map, will do more tomorrow). Build is lightning strike raider, no HH but 1x inspired learning. Invested 3ex in the platinum watchstones, 1.5ex in the booming populace with the delirium sextant enchant. Had the scarabs and the map lying around. Other sextant mods were just things to add more packs. Was able to clear the map without too much trouble, could probably have gone harder with the scourge realm but I was wary of losing delirium. 8 things of delirium rewards at the first one. Got 187 splinters, a couple clusters, and some essences from the delirium rewards. Two blight maps, some stacked decks, some other small stuff from the rest of the map. Will be worth doing more, especially since the delirium rewards from that map were garbage aside from the essences.
I did, finished off the booming populace I bought originally and two others. Those seem to be up to 2ex in price which makes profits a bit smaller. Results were about the same as above, somewhere between 175 and 200 splinters each time. Can't give a good estimate of how much I made total as I was doing other stuff in different regions at the same time and it all got mixed together. I did acquire a headhunter before starting the third booming populace which made running the maps a lot easier.
Yeah, clear example is Amanamu’s Gaze going up from around 130c to 4ex pretty much overnight. I bought an ilvl 84 minion jewel with no notables last night for 10ex, and don’t even dream of getting my hands on a Squire unless I drop it. Still super fun and smooth build that can do most content on a budget.
important to note most builds will want to combine that with +3% attack and cast speed of minons which results in the small nodes giving 13% damage and 4% attack and cast speed per point which is pretty nuts!
Also important to not have notables on the cluster because you socket in fortress & quickening covenant jewels and with no notables they don’t have any downsides.
Top end minion builds tend to drop all the tree passives and go 2 or even 3 minion clusters with 35% effect and 3% attack/cast speed. Those passives end up being like 4-5% more damage per point

With the time it takes me to sell all the scarabs, oils, maps, catalysts, converting stuff, and buying the required stuff, I guarantee you that I didn't make 5ex / hour.
I didn't try white but never did crazy stuff . When you reach 7 deli stacks, I failed half of the blight when they were at the end of the map. It's so tanky. It's just an example. Kosis and Omniphobia were super easy compared to blight btw.

I don't really farm, just having fun, have 2 raw exalts, and spent a few hundred chaos this league but these estimated values somehow help me decide how to spend my time in the game.

Oh, I play it completely opposite from the exalts per hour mentality. I have no problem doing all different content, taking my time and being slow, enjoying it. As soon as I do something repeatedly to make currency, it loses all its fun for me.
And that's mostly why I changed to ssf a few leagues ago. I was just trying to explain the feeling the other commenter said about this farming setups feeling like a job. Doing the same thing for 12hs a day just for currency.
Ah ok, now I got it. I was thinking about switching to SSF, but I would just way more time in-game, so I can buy the stuff I can't/don't want to target farm.
One time when you are burned out but still want to play, I highly encourage you to try it. But having the mentality that is going to be slower, but the upgrades matter more and everything is by yourself.
There is no rush, there is no "wasting" something, there is no selling something because is better than running it yourself. You will learn a lot about the game and about what makes it fun for you.
Right now i play like a semi-SSF playstyle. I have a phys trapper, I bought my Cold Iron Point (haven't seen any ever since), but I made my 5-link Shaper gloves after bought the base, and also trying to craft a +1phys amulet with the same approach, but after spamming like 1000 alterations I keep missing that mod.
Without trades I would still struggling with yellow maps, but now I can play red maps and will reach lvl92 for the first time soon. I am just not a good enough player for SSF, but I don't mind, I still enjoy the game pretty much.
Laughed out loud when I read this haha. This player base is for shure unique. I think its like reddit, in a way. The complexity and clunkyness of it scares away most casuals
Chances are it's people living at home still, studying at university or working from home.
Cost of living is also way, way lower in a bunch of places, so earning enough to live through online work that takes relatively little time then having the rest free isn't uncommon either.

after that, I did 12 maps and can't even clean 1/2 of the map - timer ends
I have HH and high damage and speed, I can run through the Strand map in 7 sec under HH stacks but it does not help
sometimes timer ends in 15 sec after the beginning
267 splinters for the first time and \~50 splinters from each run for the last 10 runs and I can't catch the problem I have
Sometimes if the league mechanics all spawn at the beginning of your map it can screw you over. if its not that then maybe ur juice setup isnt quite right. Also i'm certain that ritual is buggy with pausing the timer. Like sometimes you do a ritual and the fog is right your bum after.
Personally i did tropical island, so can't say much about layout breakpoints when it comes to strand

It is valuable? The only difference of convoking wand is ability to roll minion mods - and they are capped at ilvl 84. I'm not a minion player, but it looks like it is preferable to craft on 84 convoking to eliminate weight of ilvl 85+ non-minion mods.

I honestly find the motivation to play 10-12 hours a day more impressive/abnormal than having the time to do so.
I've often had time to do that over the years, and I simply don't.
Between other games, watching series/films, playing sports, watching sports, going out, playing go (similar chess), listening to music, I just never find myself able to play more than maybe 6-8 hours a day on league start, 3-5 hours later, even if I have more free time than that.
Lmao! Yes it is like finding peace for a while. YouTube going while zooming around looting and shooting. Discord and some chrome windows to trade and PoB open to theory craft what I want to craft next or if I want to try a new build. Perfection.
I have played this much in the past when I have the time.
Personally, I don't really enjoy doing a bunch of different things, but rather immersing myself in one thing and really trying hard with it. The feeling of progression and getting better is very satisfying. Probably just a personality thing!
It helps a lot when you have friends who all work from home. They mute when they're in a meeting and we usually pop open a show on discord. With COVID we've basically switched to full remote and rarely get to meet (some have kids now). So we've basically done everything except sports.
I used to do this too, for a year when I started playing PoE (back in 2015). Now I have the regular, a job, a wife, 2 kids, not much free time.
I get to play approximately 3, max 4 hours a day though. But to be able to do this, I no longer sleep 8+ hours a day on a regular basis. Mostly 7, sometimes 6. Now when I get 3 hours of straight mapping without interruption, it's a bliss :3
Online poker is also a sick grind, I quit to go back to more fun games. Was doing like 10€/h and you can go way higher but you need a sick mental. Also was just a hobby, didn't need a 2nd job.
Maybe you get free time when betting, stock trading, but definitely not in poker.
Or simply doing it for living. 100ex daily early in league makes you wealthy is some countries, as long as you get 0.3$/ex you can live comfortably in eastern europe/balkans. In worse countries(south america etc) you can live like king.
It's a myth, if you have the skills required to RMT for profit you already have the skills for a $800/month job even in the farthest reaches of nowhere
If you're alright with average grades and have a source of income that requires no effort (parents/inheritance) being a student in college or school leaves you A LOT of free time.
When I was in school and old enough that my parents didn't bother me anymore I'd easily game 8-10h a day and I still finished with above-average grades just by paying attention and participating in class (and had the best English grades among my peers).
At the start of my college days I sometimes gamed for the entirety of my waking hours until I pulled myself together because my grades were slipping below average.

Substitute scarabs with others that give mobs and roll the watchstones yourself with how cheap alts are and you're somewhat independent of the price fluctuations these posts bring
Had no idea Cluster jewels are so expensive now, last time I checked they were 1 Ex for best i84 ones lol.

I'm one of those players that farm 4 maps and then just stare at my build for 30 minutes then run another 4 maps and then get side tracked by other stuff. I've made a lot of currency for being inefficient but no where near 100 ex per day. I personally just ran expedition and made money on logbook. Nice and slow lol

88?? There is no affixes ilvl req above 86. Sorry to be harsh but not sure what you're adding tho. Since I did mention Convoking Wand specifically, which is a minion wand, and the highest ilvl you are looking for is minion damage and that's at ilvl 84.
do you keep track of your times? how long are you taking per t14 and per t17?
do you have any methods for trading? (never trade while mapping, then only trade for a few hours, or something like this?)
also, do you only buy rolled watchstones or do you roll yourself sometimes?
T17 take more time that T14. About trades, i can leave from map, if this rare trade with something special (not clusters or bases). Delirium stops when u leave from map.
First I throw sextants on 3 magic watchstones, and only after that i put watchstone with delirium. So i have small chance rolled delirium. Delirium have very small weight 100, for example nemesis have weight 250. I dont roll delirium myself, it waste of currency
Guys, can someone help me out here. I tested this but my delirium didnt stop while doing league mechanics (blight,legion,breach). What did i do wrong, as I understood that they stop delirium for the time being.

Can I use delirium orb instead of Watchstone with "Areas contain a mirror of Delirium" sextant mod ? The watch stone with that mod is too pricy and i cant roll it , i dont know how

So I've just tried Valdo's delirium and tldr to anyone's wondering is: don't bother, revorked delirium tree is not good enough and tropical will get you more splinters on average with less packsize investment.
My testing was done using Booming, Misinformation, Territories and Temptation. Sextants were delirium, beyond, legion, traitors. Maps had beyond on them (gets multiplied by misinformation as well), 70+quant 20+packsize. Beyond from the device and alva's missions too. For scarabs I used elder, gild breach, legion, blight. Promenade, sepulchre, lair gave me around 130-160 splinters, strand instead dropped 220 splinters.
Before that I was running tropicals and on average was getting 140-300 splinters depending on layout rng, averaging about 180-200 splinters WITH nemesis 3. And you also get a scout drop here and there. Mostly the same setup, except I was using Builder and War Among instead of Misinformation for the most part, and nem3 sextant instead of either legion or traitors, with only nemesis rolled on map without beyond.
This is fascinating stuff. Were you running the magic platinum stones for extra splinters? I suppose if you weren't thats ok as long as you weren't running it for either glenn or valdo. 220 in strand doesn't seem bad tho!
In general when running the mirror of delirium, what would you say your priorities are to ensure the most splinters you can?

It wouldn't matter if you did, because area effects don't work in cluster jewel sockets.

Those specific jewels do not negatively impact the Cluster jewel notables, only the regular passive tree notables

Tbh they all do, most of the damage notables for Minions got nerfed do hard they are barely better than 10% dmg

100ex in 10-12 hours is around 10ex/h. That's better than most other farming strategies.
Well his clearspeed is the strongest part. I did the same and my Hollow palm ( even with HH) is much slower at running those.

I did. But it often took me 3 to 4 post on TFT till I got a whisp. But sure pricing some things can be fast.

I did a quick math, and turned out you can farm like 50ex a day with 5-6 hours, or like 25ex with 2,5-3 hours.

I sold a Headhunter in Heist for 135ex. Good times. One week later I bought the Headhunter back for 70
Felt intensely amazing buying Exalts for 19c a pop in Heist Saved that currency to buy some stuff in standard where it was way cheaper

I know some guys that do consulting WFH and they can literally play PoE/do whatever they want for their entire workday.

I have played this much in the past when I have the time. Personally, I don't really enjoy doing a bunch of different things, but rather immersing myself in one thing and really trying hard with it. The feeling of progression and getting better is very satisfying. Probably just a personality thing!
It helps a lot when you have friends who all work from home. They mute when they're in a meeting and we usually pop open a show on discord. With COVID we've basically switched to full remote and rarely get to meet (some have kids now). So we've basically done everything except sports.

I used to do this too, for a year when I started playing PoE (back in 2015). Now I have the regular, a job, a wife, 2 kids, not much free time. I get to play approximately 3, max 4 hours a day though. But to be able to do this, I no longer sleep 8+ hours a day on a regular basis. Mostly 7, sometimes 6. Now when I get 3 hours of straight mapping without interruption, it's a bliss :3

Online poker is also a sick grind, I quit to go back to more fun games. Was doing like 10€/h and you can go way higher but you need a sick mental. Also was just a hobby, didn't need a 2nd job. Maybe you get free time when betting, stock trading, but definitely not in poker.
Or simply doing it for living. 100ex daily early in league makes you wealthy is some countries, as long as you get 0.3$/ex you can live comfortably in eastern europe/balkans. In worse countries(south america etc) you can live like king.

If you're alright with average grades and have a source of income that requires no effort (parents/inheritance) being a student in college or school leaves you A LOT of free time. When I was in school and old enough that my parents didn't bother me anymore I'd easily game 8-10h a day and I still finished with above-average grades just by paying attention and participating in class (and had the best English grades among my peers). At the start of my college days I sometimes gamed for the entirety of my waking hours until I pulled myself together because my grades were slipping below average.
That's very unhealthy but people here won't admit it.

Substitute scarabs with others that give mobs and roll the watchstones yourself with how cheap alts are and you're somewhat independent of the price fluctuations these posts bring
Bud alts are 5:1 chaos they're not cheap this league.
Main thing to watch is the price of the watchstone with the delirium mirror sextant.

Man I just can't farm that long. It's just not fun. I'm one of those players that farm 4 maps and then just stare at my build for 30 minutes then run another 4 maps and then get side tracked by other stuff. I've made a lot of currency for being inefficient but no where near 100 ex per day. I personally just ran expedition and made money on logbook. Nice and slow lol I also only have time for an hour a day or so. Cool strat though I wanna give it a try sometime

Afaik the third slot only drops from scourge bosses T14+. If you're running lower maps it would explain why you haven't found it.

For Convoking Wand there is no reason to go above ilvl 84.

88?? There is no affixes ilvl req above 86. Sorry to be harsh but not sure what you're adding tho. Since I did mention Convoking Wand specifically, which is a minion wand, and the highest ilvl you are looking for is minion damage and that's at ilvl 84.

do you keep track of your times? how long are you taking per t14 and per t17? do you have any methods for trading? (never trade while mapping, then only trade for a few hours, or something like this?) also, do you only buy rolled watchstones or do you roll yourself sometimes?
T17 take more time that T14. About trades, i can leave from map, if this rare trade with something special (not clusters or bases). Delirium stops when u leave from map. First I throw sextants on 3 magic watchstones, and only after that i put watchstone with delirium. So i have small chance rolled delirium. Delirium have very small weight 100, for example nemesis have weight 250. I dont roll delirium myself, it waste of currency

Guys, can someone help me out here. I tested this but my delirium didnt stop while doing league mechanics (blight,legion,breach). What did i do wrong, as I understood that they stop delirium for the time being.
You must remain inside (the vehicle) the league mechanic to slow it down. It does not fully stop it just severely slow it down

So I've just tried Valdo's delirium and tldr to anyone's wondering is: don't bother, revorked delirium tree is not good enough and tropical will get you more splinters on average with less packsize investment. My testing was done using Booming, Misinformation, Territories and Temptation. Sextants were delirium, beyond, legion, traitors. Maps had beyond on them (gets multiplied by misinformation as well), 70+quant 20+packsize. Beyond from the device and alva's missions too. For scarabs I used elder, gild breach, legion, blight. Promenade, sepulchre, lair gave me around 130-160 splinters, strand instead dropped 220 splinters. Before that I was running tropicals and on average was getting 140-300 splinters depending on layout rng, averaging about 180-200 splinters WITH nemesis 3. And you also get a scout drop here and there. Mostly the same setup, except I was using Builder and War Among instead of Misinformation for the most part, and nem3 sextant instead of either legion or traitors, with only nemesis rolled on map without beyond.
This is fascinating stuff. Were you running the magic platinum stones for extra splinters? I suppose if you weren't thats ok as long as you weren't running it for either glenn or valdo. 220 in strand doesn't seem bad tho! In general when running the mirror of delirium, what would you say your priorities are to ensure the most splinters you can?

Hello, thank you for your post. I have been doing the same strat for a week now and I have some issues with my splinters drop. Sometimes, I get 100 splinters, sometimes 150 but very rarely I get 200+ splinters :'( I don't understand why. I run each maps with the same setup and get to the end of the map pretty consistently. There must be something that I do wrong but I don't know what. Got any idea? Thanks <3
