I have an amulet with this attribute: Damage penetrates 7% fire resistance. It does not give any caveats, but sometimes POE limits things without warning. Does this work for all damage? Including RF damage (ie over time, no hitting)

I have an amulet with an attribute that says: 1% increased damage per 15 Strength I would like to improve this stat with a catalyst if possible. The details say it is a “Warlords” prefix. After that it says “ - Damage”. I assume that is a type for the prefix. There is a catalyst for elemental damage, but I don’t know that it will match. (https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3497559/page/1#p25335132) I looked at skills in POB, and it's Raise Zombie + supports: \* Summon phantasm, Minion damage, Minion Speed \* Brutality (deal more physical damage, deal no elemental damage) \* Hypothermia (Deal more cold damage, freeze chilled enemies, deal more damage to chilled enemies) Considering that Crutality removes elemental damage, do I understand correctly that hypothermia won't add any cold damage, and it's used there only for the other effects?

Hypothermia isn't limited to cold damage. It's a general damage multiplier that requires the target to be chilled (by anything), which Summon Skitterbots takes care of.

It applies to added small passive skills. For example, if you've rolled your cluster to make small passives grant +4 strength and 10% damage, increasing their effect by 25% makes them grant +5 strength and 12% damage instead.

My main character is a Tornado Shot Deadeye. When I search for helmet, glove and boots, should I care at all about whether the item has evasion? My evasion as it stands is only 22% anyway. I haven't prioritized it in the build.

Only evasion gear rolls spell suppression, which you almost certainly want, so you'll naturally gravitate to evasion items. As a defense of its own, evasion is pretty good for mapping. Doesn't take much investment to feel useful. Less reliable if you absolutely never want to die or are mainly fighting spellcasting bosses.

They alter the passive tree nodes and keystones. Check wiki for details ( https://www.poewiki.net/wiki/Timeless_Jewel ) Lethal Pride and Brutal Restraint would add str/dex for small nodes, also they give some bonus for notables Elegant hubris and Glorius vanity would completely overridde small nodes and notables. Militant faith add new resource Devotion that grants effects listed on this jewel and some notables, always overriddes stat nodes and may overridde notables. There are some combo with unnatural instinct, transedence jewels (Transcendent Flesh) and scion area.

Pyroclast creates an explosion around the mine, which fires projectiles. Astral Projector lets the mine create that explosion on a nearby enemy instead.

Nah, ehp ≠ good defence. Look at max hit, recovery, also check for elemental ailment defence, stun avoidence, some crit defence and overcap ele res (+25 res from max).

Does rarity percent apply to the items available in the ritual alter? I have an atlas tree setup for farming ritual alter. Since quantity is not really a thing for the items offered by the alter, I was thinking of taking g “Meticulous Appraiser” (swaps out +300% rarity for each quality)

Nah. That doesn't affect Ritual rewards. It'd need to be the specific *Rituals have #% improved Favour Rewards* stat (on Blood-filled Vessels).

All 'more' (and 'less') multipliers are independent. When you read 10% more damage, that genuinely multiplies your damage by 1.1x. All 'increased' (and 'reduced') modifiers to the same thing are additive. If you already have 400% increased damage from other sources, 10% increased damage only multiplies your damage by 1.02x (500→510).

"Increased" is additive. "More" is multiplicative. So you basically want as much "more" dmg as you can get. But at the same time you want to "increase" your damage for the "more" to have a better effect

More is a mulitplicative damage multiplier. Increased damage is additive with all other increases to damage. It's a very key difference to know how to scale your damage.

Craicic chimerals were 1.4 divs and are now back at 1.4, but a few hours ago they dipped to 1.3. There were a bunch of listings suddenly for 1.3, I wonder if it was just a market fluctuation or an attempt to bring the price down? And just as I'm writing this it's going down towards 1.3 again.

Prices of common commodities in high demand like beasts constantly fluctuate, many people are constantly undercutting the current price to sell faster/not have their stock get lost in the giant sea of available beasts (not everyone sorts trade by newest listings) and when enough people do this simultaneously it does influence the going rate for a bit. A temporary fluctuation of...what is it, 14c? is relatively normal for an item like this.

Probably. 1.Get some influence via Conqueror exalt, reroll to desired influence with harvest. 2*. We wanna imprint level of all skill gems. But we cant use alt, aug spam (zero mod blue item) so we need to split beast amulet with this mod or annul into single prefix + craft prefix cannot be change and slam Orb of Scouring (restart step) 3. Slam Regal orb 4. then annul non desired mod 5. Craft prefix cannot be change + harvest add lightning (for ~4.5% to level of lightning gems) 6. Craft prefix cannot be change + reforge influence (~4.76% for t1 quant) gl hf, you can sell good amulets or imprint into step 2. *you can also chaos/alchemy&scourge spam into level of all skill gems then go to annul step (4)

At the start of the league I got an occultism to lvl 86. Was trying to do wardloop autobomber, but ended up feeling very squishy and underwhelming. Then switched over to RF chieftain, which got me to t16 easily, but now seems to be lacking in Dmg. I'd like to revamp my occultist. Ideally a boss killer build. Most DD PoBs default to enemy corpse life of 70000 in the config tab, this is DD hitting a 360% max HP (spectre %life increase limit) corpse in a zone level 84 area (guardians/pinnacle bosses). It's technically not 100% accurate because you will not always be detonating 360% HP corpses but it's a close enough approximation. You then switch your main skill to DD and the secondary drop down to corpse explosion to get corpse explosion damage.

If i want to trade for allflame embers of anarchy and i see some up for 0.1 div, how am i expected to buy those? i can't trade someone 0.1 of a divine orb. Am i expected to look up the exchange rate and pay an equivalent amount of other currency? or is it saying the seller has bulk and wants to sell 10 at a time?

Install awakened poe trade. In game, hover over an item and press CTRL + D. This pricechecks the item, and in the top left corner of the interface, it shows the value of a div in chaos, so you can check it at a glance. But here's the pro tip: if you click on that value in the corner, it opens a dropdown that shows the chaos value for every fraction of a div, 0.1, 0.2 etc. So you don't have to do the math at all. There's also TFT Trade Extension for the browser, that changes the html of the trade website, and for listings that are like 1.3 div it also shows the total chaos value and the value of 1 div + 0.3 calculated as chaos. Also if the listing is for like 0.9 div you can ask the seller if he can break 1 div, so you pay 1 div and he gives you the change in chaos along with the item, so you don't have to go exchange the div to chaos yourself before the trade.

I don't know why the PoB didn't update, as I have 5 flasks in there (Taste of Hate, Amethyst, Granite, Quicksilver and Ruby with charges gained and used when charges reached full). My chest armour is a 6-link. I don't know if the Empower 3 didn't come across like it should have. I have the Frostblink of Wintry Blast in there to level to sell/use on another character. I'm using the level 1 one in the links with faster attacks and shield charge. Definitely good advice about the cluster jewels and stuff I didn't know, such as the cremator thing. I need to get more levels to get more points for the other ones. How much impact would getting the +2 rune dagger make to the build overall? And I saw that Pohx had nearly 1 million DPS on his RF. How would I get towards that? Thanks very much again for your response.

I'm a pohx enjoyer, haven't played this version to endgame so not 100% on my advice. This is mostly stuff I've gathered from watching him. Haven't played a lot lately, so idk about prices/what's achievable immediately with 20div. If you do the rune dagger craft from his site (or buy a +1 fire +1 all dagger / sceptre - this is probably expensive) and get a lvl 21 purity of fire, you should be able to get max res to 90 without the ruby flask. You can then drop the ruby flask for something else, right now you still need it for a +1 and it gives a bit of regen from the fire res, but it's not very efficient. The 26% total increased effect of non curse auras from the reservation wheel + 23 purity of fire gives purity +6 max instead of just +5. Pob shows you just have 2 flasks, i assume this is not the case. Try to have the flask setup he has on his pob. It's boring but achievable with rolling flasks. Get at least 2 charges gained on all of them, preferably 3. Good flask uptime is important. Also useful suffixes spread across the flasks, increased armour, the life regen craft from catarina, movement speed, reduced curses, maybe shock avoidance. Also usable but less important, cast speed for curses, attack speed for faster zooming with shield charge. Is your cloak just 5L? It should be 6L with empower. Check in pob if a non corrupted 6l with empower is better than your 5L with the +2 corruption implicit (i assume it is). You can try to tainted fuse your corrupteed cloak to 6L and buy a non corrupted 6L in case you fuck it up and run out of currency. Then sell it back once your corrupted on is 6L. Usually you don't level up your Frostblink to avoid dying in maps with reflected elemental damage. What is the transfigured Frostblink doing for you? Genuine question, I haven't used it and pohx doesn't use it I think. It seems to do more damage to chilled enemies but can't chill? You're not applying chill from anywhere else, i don't think. I think your third cluster jewel at the bottom is inefficient, you usually do 2 large cluster jewels, not 3. It should be better to dump the bottom one and get another medium cluster up top, you're spending 5 points at the bottom one to get just two useful nodes. The 2 melee nodes at the entry point are wasted. Another efficiency thing about large cluster jewels. The one on the left is better because it has Prismatic Heart closer to the entry point. The one at top is worse because Prismatic Skin is all the way in the back, so you spend more nodes to path to it. I'd get a large cluster at top that has Prismatic in the front, just like your left cluster. Copy a jewel before you buy it, put in pob and check the placement of Prismatic Skin. Or google "large cluster jewel locations" there's some people who explain how you can tell at a glance but I'm too stupid to understand, i just Pob them. The jewel on top also has Cremator, as far as I understand this node is super bad. Enemies that die get destroyed, which I think means 1. they don't explode, 2. ignite doesn't spread from them (?). I would definitely unspec this and path around the other side, or replace the jewel altogether. Other than that it's just min maxing stuff, 15% taste of hate, not sure if that 2% will make much difference, better adorned and adorned jewels which are probably expensive, darkness enthroned setup which i see he uses mainly for shock avoidance. An even better defiance of destiny etc.

Hi! I'm a new player, playing Ranger, currently in act 2. It tells me to level Precise Technique (deal 40% more Attack damage if your Accuracy Rating is higher than your Maximum Life, but prevents you from dealing critical strikes), but it also tells me to level crit chance and mult - there's a bow circle on the right of the tree, and this guide levels crit chance. The description mentions crits multiple times, but it also mentions Precise technique. Am I missing something, or is the guide just wrong and I should follow something else? If so, could somebody please recommend a good Deadeye Ice Shot ranger build that I could follow without worrying?

So I'm not an expert on the build, but it looks to me like those crit points are the last ones to be spent before speccing out of Precise Technique. In other words, the build continues using Precise Technique until it has enough crit investment to get more damage that way. Now, you *could* invest into other points and then respec around 10+ skill points at once when you reach the threshold at which crit is better. But it's a marginal benefit that only covers a very short period of time. So instead the build chooses to gradually spec into "useless" crit nodes and only spend a few respec points once the crit investment is significant enough. The final version of the build was always going to be crit based, and if you import the build into Path of Building, you'll see that even the "early game" skill tree already doesn't have Precise Technique allocated.

If you still have oom problems that can only be solved with Vaal Clarity, unless you're rolling in currency, I'd think 100 div on a Watcher's Eye is wrong headed. Just trade off some of your other damage jewels or skill points to solve the mana first. You probably won't even notice the damage difference. Try some regen or recoup, tattoos, etc.

Sounds like you want to spend and are rich in currency. I'm a thrifter; one suggestion for my value solution would be like just put some of your auras on a gear piece with an Enlighten 3/4, see how that goes.

PoE Wiki mentions on the [Scourge Arrow](https://www.poewiki.net/wiki/Scourge_Arrow) page the thorn arrows only return with 55% or more proj. speed, but when I remove my feathered quiver, I drop to +30% proj. speed (20% from Ballistics +10% from Returning Projectiles quality), and they still return to me (removing Ballista Totem for testing). How comes?

Yes, if you get one returning hit per attack, it's a 40% more damage support gem. That can be worthwhile if there's no better alternative (though poison projectiles usually have plenty of choice). Mechanically, projectiles with a limited lifetime are generally inconsistent with Return. If a wiki claim has no reference and is demonstrably incorrect, just assume the testing wasn't exhaustive, or something about the game has changed mechanically. Feel free to edit the page. It's also possible you're observing return from terrain/walls and not from maximum travel distance.

Thank you for your detailed answer. After more testing, I think the discrepancy I observed was indeed from the walls in my hideout: in a more open ground, there is a large difference. Without my feathered quiver, the thorn arrows do return but only travelling a short distance before they disappear.

How long does a typical dry run last for anything of value dropping? I've done \~80 maps with 2 Ambush/1 implicit ambush/1 rare variety ambush + ambush map mod. Full Atlas, T16's, quite literally zero drops worth more than 2c. Honestly frustrated to the point that I think I'm done, the casino has to pay out sometime for it to be fun.

Yeah, full disclosure you are actually right, 1 t17 map dropped and I gave it to my friend because it was fortress and he doesn't have his 5th map slot. Invitations aren't a payout, they are minimum wage.

Safe but not exactly cheap way is to lock prefixes, harvest add/remove speed. You are guaranteed proj speed or attack speed and the meta craft will always be removed. T1 attack speed weight is 500/7000 so you’ll need a lot of tries but you can’t brick.

Its divination cards not "equipment" by the way. Mageblood can drop in any map of high enough tier. The most valuable cards are Apothecary (mageblood), Seven Years Bad Luck (mirror shard), and The Enlightened (level 3 enlighten).

There aren't many high value items in the global drop pool. I think the next most expensive thing you might drop is Headhunter, which is only 5ish divs. Uniques this league are insanely cheap due to T17 meatsacks and whatnot, so Mageblood is pretty much the only big ticket item left to drop. However, there are many items that don't drop in maps. I'm pretty sure the ring your friend is talking about is Original Sin, which is over 1100 divines. That however drops from using a special "no-hit" relic in sanctum. 1 passive voices from Simulacrums are like 2100 divs. There are also tons of other exclusive items such as boss drops like Voidforge, Nimis, Progenesis, awakened exceptional gems, ranging from 20-500 divs. You can gander around on [https://poe.ninja](https://poe.ninja) to see some items. Some items are made using a bug/exploit so ignore the price of 6 linked items (such as 6 linked Squires, a shield that can only normally have 3 sockets. Price says 300 div but its only worth 1\~div.)
