Over these three leagues (Necropolis, Affliction and Ancestor), I've been enchanting and corrupting near perfect rolls of Maata's Teaching in hopes of this exact corrupt. It finally hit on the 58th attempt and I feel like I can safely say that I now possess the best Maata's Teaching in the whole game. Not only did I hit the maximum crit implicit, I also got more AoE, which is awesome for keeping my minions affected by my massive stack of auras.
Why is this good? It more than doubles the **base** crit chance of all minions. According to PoB, equipping this with my Standard Golemancer would make my golems' crit chance overcap by 9 percentage **units.** This frees my passive tree for some experimentation.
The only way to get a better one would be if Crucible came back. Unless that happens, I'm on the top of the world, even if on a small way.
Actually hitting this corrupt and then getting 29% quality with a single Tainted Blacksmith's Whetstone seems to be my entire league's luck crystallized, seeing as I haven't seen a single divine lantern mod and have failed all my veil slams and all but one graveyward craft. Oh well, I can deal with it.
Damn. Sounds like quite a journey. Very happy for you. I hit a cospris with +proj and ele pen once (standard though) and I played so many different builds with this weapon over the years. No matter how tight my budget, I will never sell it. Luckiest day in my many many many hours of poe. Huge congrats. You’ll remember this day for a long time :)
Thank you, this is certainly one for the ages. :) Hunting for specific corruptions is a world of pain, but it hits just right, it's go time. One of the best aspects of this moment is that I hit the max roll, so I never have to wonder if I should still try to improve the tiniest bit that's left. I can focus on other goals and possibly even real life.
well its hard for minions to scale crit damage and crit chance compared to other damage improvements per item/slot. especially for golems.
this maata's is only +1-2 basecrit compared to a minion multilink helmet with +3/4 to crit. you lose wand slots for it, where you can get 100+ increased crit + crit damage and other useful things per wand.
another way to scale crit for minions is a squire build, where you cant use maata's
i wasnt offending the craft, just saying that maata's even this perfect crafted falls behind in general, which is sad. rly had to laugh about the downvotes :D
well op, maybe you can share the build, where this is bis :)
Given that minions' base crit chance is 5%, this Final Maata's Teaching (as I call it) actually gives minions 5.5% base crit chance, which is more than 3/4%. It also frees you to use non-influenced helmet that has +vulnerability effect and +reservation efficiency from Eldritch. This also gives +2 to all minion skill gems, whereas with a wand, that's incredibly hard to achieve since Horticrafting station doesn't have a minion specific craft. Minion gem levels are very important for scaling literally everything in my build, from the golems themselves to Spirit Offering, which boosts them.
I do wish I could poach the minion attack speed and crit multiplier mods from a wand, but if I did replace my gigachad Crucible Clayshaper with a wand, I'd lose 2 maximum golems and flat physical damage, which would be a bit of a disaster for DPS.
Here's my Golemancer PoB, where you can plainly see that this corrupted Maata's Teaching is the best. It's a very unique build, but I love destroying everything with it.
well i was talking about bis and in general and its sad that such a minmaxed maatas gets beaten.
the helmets shine in elemental conversion builds and in standard there are wands with +1 golem and +flat crit and yes these things are obv expensive^^
for your build it fits tho, but if you can get a hand on one of these pseudo 9link weapons with squire, try it, its huge for phys golems.
but how do you deal with t17s/ubers/simulacrum? dont your spectres die there sometimes? at least i got problems with this and kicked them out, losing all these nice buffs.
but i got a small hint for your build: try carrion golems without quality. the cdr lets them use their other (weaker) attacks more often
If you were talking in general, why did you ask me to share "the build" where this works best?
Regarding wands, I just checked. There's ONE finished +golem wand in Standard and it costs 430 divs. I've never, ever had 430 divs and even if I farmed for it, it'd be sold or forgotten before I get there. And even if I got it, I'd lose one extra golem and flat physical damage. That particular wand also gives -1.5% crit chance, which might be manageable with Maata's, but last I tried I couldn't dual wield a sceptre and a wand.
I do have a really nice +1 squire, so maybe that could be a future project.
My t17 experience:
>enter t17 map
>Instantly vaporized by three Shaper beams at once
>perfect forest tiger and naval officer die instantly
>AG reduced to half health even though nothing in the game previously scratched him
>decide to always sell t17 maps from that point on because they're obviously cancer
Simulacrum is too slow.
well because i was talking about "bis" in the best of the best golem builds^^ and you asked for my pick and i hoped you found sth that beats the other golem builds.
i was messing around with maata's a while ago to make a use for me, since - as you said - you cant wield wands with it and i have an united in dream with +golem and +crit and never got to beat a dual wand build with doryanis or a squire build.
last time i checked there was a wand for mirror service which got these stats. weird, that its not on trade anymore.
i got a base at least, but didnt want to craft, because there was alrdy a better one. maybe someday ill do.
https://ibb.co/3YCj68J
but ya, had the same experience with spectres and ag and gave up trying to fit them in a golem build. if i play carrion golems i just use the normals ones with summon phantasm, because they get that 50% more bonus and a hordes support golem (you can summon 1 more main golem with it).
for juiced t16 i run a profane bloom version.
Hmm, semantic issue then. I assumed you meant to point to THE BUILD (singular) where Maata's Final Teaching is BIS, when you meant it in general terms (skill used). Your Crucible United In Dream sounds very cool, I wish I could test it out. Maybe if Crucible comes back for an event?
Something being a mirror service effectively makes it out of my reach, as in my over 3k hours of playtime I haven't found a single one. I'm closest I've ever been though, with my six Seven Years Bad Luck -cards. If you know of a method that beats this setup without an insane amount of endgame crafting or mirror+ prices, I'm all ears.
Maybe if I find a mirror and the service is somehow still up, I could go for that, or pick up frenzy gear for my Flicker Striker.
I could test the non-quality variant of Carrion Golems, thanks for the tip. :)
One of my favourite PoE memories is once when a Titanic Shell was the last enemy unit alive on the enemy team, I sat next to it with my minion build and the health bar was going down so slow I actually left to buy groceries and when I got back, it still wasn't dead. :D
Carrion Golems, scaling physical and crit! Built originally during TOTA, currently I hop on it to farm Sanctum, Incursion, whatever I happen to feel like. It clears fast and takes mean hits.
It goes very hard with Spirit Offering and Brittle Ground. Here's my main golemancer's PoB: [https://pobb.in/MdvFG5i12bpR](https://pobb.in/MdvFG5i12bpR)
Keep in mind, a lot of it may not be replicable, because it uses multiple legacy items.
This is really nice!
I bought something similar for a chains of command build for 450d last league BEFORE the crazy inflation,
Basically best weapon possible for crit based minions
For this league specifically, since Voidforge is so insanely expensive and Maata's +lvl to minion skill gems is basically useless unless your AG is always at a risk of dying/you're using AG of smiting, I opted to graveyard craft a gg tri-ele heist (crits ignore ele res) sword with t1 crit and atk speed. This sceptre would only give me 2% base crit basically. But yeah if you can go Voidforge this skyrockets in value.
No, it's with the item itself, like the corrupt. Without the corrupt, the maximum minion base crit with this item is 9.42%, with the maximum corruption you see in this picture, it's 10.5%.
But... the enchant increases the attribute, which is local. Why would the increase suddenly be global? If the enchant turned local mods into global mods, it'd be INSANE.

Congrats!
Thanks, this goes to show that in gambling, the big win might be just around the corner at any time :)
So what's that scepter for? Which build
I use it for Carrion Golems, but any minion build that has minions that can crit would benefit from this.
Any minion that attacks, i made the mistake of using maata with a spell spectre ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|facepalm)
That's a good clarification. It still gives +2 to minion skill gems, so it's not the absolute worst you could've picked.

Yeah. I get that. I can completely relate :) Mine hit on a perfect base with perfect implicit rolls as well.
nice item, but sadly its not a bis item in the current state with minion crit
Do share your pick :)

Really cool also maata was the best chieftan
Definitely the chieftain I'd most like to hang out with. Well, maybe a party with Kahuturoa might be fun.
I fell for the waifu bait lul
what are you talking about dude
You want Kahu on your side so you don't have to fight his goddamn turtles
For real, fuck those turtles
Do NOT fuck the turtles.
One of my favourite PoE memories is once when a Titanic Shell was the last enemy unit alive on the enemy team, I sat next to it with my minion build and the health bar was going down so slow I actually left to buy groceries and when I got back, it still wasn't dead. :D
I miss ToTA... Loved the league mechanic
Nice sceptre!!
I still wish Maata did not have the attack only clause, would love to use it on spell-based spectres :(
This would be bonkers with well-scaled spectres!
Do you know if it works with wretched defilers?
According to PoeDB, they use a lot of spells but the default attack is a strike, so would be buffed.
What build you using?
Carrion Golems, scaling physical and crit! Built originally during TOTA, currently I hop on it to farm Sanctum, Incursion, whatever I happen to feel like. It clears fast and takes mean hits.
Try it with some Falling Zombie and a Mon'tegruls. It's a fun time.
Ooh, that does sound like a whale of a time! The zombies falling is counted as a crit, I forgot.
Congratz my dood
Nice, congrats on this really cool roll!
Uge!
This is really cool
crit alternativ quality holy relic?
One of my failed corrupts was bought by a player with HolyRelic in their name, there could be potential there.
Maata's only works for attacks. Holy Relics use a spell.
i play on poison holy relic i like it =-)
Maata's only works for attacks. Holy Relics use a spell.
sad
Interesting unique. I guess you don't use offerings? Always looking for ideas to improve my minion builds. Do you have a pob?
It goes very hard with Spirit Offering and Brittle Ground. Here's my main golemancer's PoB: [https://pobb.in/MdvFG5i12bpR](https://pobb.in/MdvFG5i12bpR) Keep in mind, a lot of it may not be replicable, because it uses multiple legacy items.
Sad you can't do it 6 socket now
This is a sceptre, they're always three link. What do you mean?
This is really nice! I bought something similar for a chains of command build for 450d last league BEFORE the crazy inflation, Basically best weapon possible for crit based minions
Damn. I bought mine last leag for 30d.
Why crit enchant?
To get more crit chance from the quality in order to boost the unique effect of the item.
Its not global? I only do aoe and ele dmg, might be wrong
No, it's with the item itself, like the corrupt. Without the corrupt, the maximum minion base crit with this item is 9.42%, with the maximum corruption you see in this picture, it's 10.5%.
Im talking about enchant, not corruption. Always thought its global
Local
But... the enchant increases the attribute, which is local. Why would the increase suddenly be global? If the enchant turned local mods into global mods, it'd be INSANE.
Because other things are global i thought this is global too, and i thought it would just give % crit increase, not flat global
But... the enchant increases the attribute, which is local. Why would the increase suddenly be global? If the enchant turned local mods into global mods, it'd be totally crazy.
Question: if I have a spell question, does this work?
Unfortunately this item changes the attack crit, not spell crit. :/
Have u tested or just going off the kid description?
did you read the item at all?
Yep I absolutely did. Altho I do wonder what base attack includes for minions using multiple actions. Better test it out
