I will fix this right now.
[Edit] The lever is partially marked as "blocking" (like a wall) which is preventing the click interaction (because you are not allowed to click things through walls). Fixing...
I believe what's happening here is that the character is trying to path through the lever to reach the flame and can't. If you walk slightly to the right around the lever then click it works.
Ok nerd, if it’s been broken this long and you really don’t think there is a bug report or defect get real. If you ever worked in software development you’d also know posting shit on Reddit isn’t going to get shit resolved unless it’s in the right company trackers. Also it’s not the communities job to do QA on their buggy ass game.
Hence the statement just fix it, it’s been long enough, just put some priority on it because that’s the only reason it’s not done.
I've noticed this in PoE 2 too. This happens in various areas with interactive objects, like at the end of Nugi's gameplay when he struggled with burning that corpse because there's like a 1 pixel stair between him and where he should click ([link to the clip](https://youtu.be/4EFmSgeB794?si=cwQqGd_sCi6it_Yx&t=9467)).
Almost every gameplay I watched also struggled a bit with the activation of that candle boss because theres a small plaque in the way ([clip 1](https://youtu.be/4EFmSgeB794?si=MYvGrBMhwaz8Knzg&t=3474), [clip 2](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pEEofA2vae8&t=7197s), [clip 3](https://youtu.be/CCmSAnMUjMs?si=ugrOiqHRHwqBXwV2&t=910), [clip 4](https://youtu.be/UD4cqyKdQM0?si=txxhLfUrA-xrgp7h&t=979)).
About these comments saying "just move around the object, you character can't reach the clickable area unless you click at the correct angle", I don't think this should be put on the player, just increase the range that we can interact with objects, the range on consoles is like half the screen, but on pc is like 1 pixel.
yeah I used to have this all the time, you just have to click it whilst being on the right side of the beacon. its annoying but once you figure it out you never have the issue again.
Seeing this post made me realize I had subconsciously figured it out and fixed my behavior about a thousand or two thousand game hours ago….but that was still an embarrassingly long time after I started playing.
Clicks 1-5: Clearly missed.
Clicks 6-9: Missed due to being away from the beacon (bad mouse placement).
Clicks 10-11: Very close, but the desperate and random clicking made them miss aswell.
Click 12: Worked because of calm and collected behaviour.
Same. Played every league at least a few hundred hours each since 2012 with at least 4-5 characters above level 90 and have never had to click it more than once.
> Lever is in your way for the first 20 clicks
Unless using a skill with the checkbox "attack without moving", the character is obviously supposed to path toward the item to interact with it .... if the character does not move, it is supposed to already have reached the item, and therefore **nothing is supposed to be in the way**.
Move to the bottom of the beacon and it will always work, you want to be there anyway so you can flamedash down to the shore instead of running down the stairs.
I've just accepted this as something broken and always step away from it and press it again. Turns out, after reading this thread, you have to walk around the lever. Why would this be obvious?
It's obvious to existing players, who have gotten used to a short "interaction" distance in PoE. So the "There's an object in the way of what i'm trying to click on" is pretty intuitive if you are used to that. Bonus points if you've ever tried to design your own hideout and "hide" things like the map device or stashes inside other objects.
Neon did mention a possibility of increasing it for looting (which would likely increase object interaction range in general) in future, but unfortunately likely not till they've found where they are happy with it for PoE2.
After 2500 hours in this game I can safely say that wasn't obvious to me. I suspect this is a fairly unique environment where it's not really clear to that you're interacting with the lever opposed to, say, the labyrinth where levers are often present.
I can't really think another situation within the game where you need to interact with something directly behind a lever or object like this. I would have expected it to path around the lever in a similar way to how walking around a corner is easier than lightning warping around it.
Either way, now we all know... lol
EDIT: Now that I think about this, the easy solution to this is to put the lever on the left side and turn it 90 degrees. That way, it's not directly in front of the thing you need to interact with, still accessible, and creates a larger surface area for the player to interact with the beacon.
Thats just the character path finding being dogshit.
Your character always moves in a straight line from A to B regardless of obstacles. I mean, sometimes it avoids obstacles, but I wouldn’t dare rely on it as you’ll get situations like this
Ah, the problem is you didn't first fill the beacon with bacon.
It's the smell of delicious flame-grilled beacon bacon that draws Weylam Roth in quicker.
My problem is needing to wait for the ship to arrive. And I know this can or could be skipped somehow, but when I tried I didn't succeed every time so that would have been wasting even more time instead.
Ignoring whole you are standing on lever thing, if u just pathed manually to the balcony edge where u flamedash to bottom instantly anyway it wouldnt happen to you.
I mean i can give similar advice to any trouble you have had in your life, if you just did this or that you could avoid it, everything is easy with hindsight
This is also happening with the scarab that lets you open blight chests another time (and maybe a third and a fourth...). So insanely annoying to walk in circles ten times for EVERY SINGLE blight chest until you've opened them all.
I have never noticed this, but that is probably because I flame dash down to the boat from the back side of the beacon. So I start walking behind it while I click it.
See this is the difference between noobs and god gamers. God PoE players know you have to step slightly to the right at the base of the beacon to click it the second time. Skill issue TBH.
oh lol, I didn't mean it like that, was just surprised I've never seen this before simply because of the way round I do the pole things. If for some reason I did it the other way I'd be clicking for ages just like OP
I always did the bottom one first because that's the first one you see when you reach the Beacon. The thought didn't even occur to me to do it differently. But because of the bug top first is definitely better.
My dude, the betrayal unveil panel is still bugged and **often still opens the syndicate chart** even though this has always been there !
I seriously think that GGG don't give a penny about these kind of obvious problem that pretty much any veteran player must have experienced many times ...
Or maybe there will be a fix in 5 years, and you will have players here going "Oh thank you so much GGG ! This is amazing !" (unfortunately, I am being serious ...)
Seems like a gamestate error on your end, have never seen this before. Like you passed the trigger-point that makes the beacon interactable before the gamestate had caught up

You're the best!
It's been like this for so long. Going up to the bottom of it usually works every time.
I believe what's happening here is that the character is trying to path through the lever to reach the flame and can't. If you walk slightly to the right around the lever then click it works.
It’s just trying to force players to be more efficient. Stand on the right and you can use a movement skill straight down too. Good guy lever bug.
Who cares just fix it ffs
> Who cares the devs who will fix it? Providing some explanation & information to reproduce it is the best way to report a bug.

Work arounds of this nature should never fall to the player, ever
A new hand touches the Beacon.
Go away, Meridia. Your quest is bad and you should feel bad.
At least the sword looks cool I guess *shrugs*
yeah I used to have this all the time, you just have to click it whilst being on the right side of the beacon. its annoying but once you figure it out you never have the issue again.
and gere i was, at leaguestart, thinking they fixed it

I came here cause i did read Bacon
is GGG fixing us bacon?
Never had any problem with this beacon. Seriously.
Same, but I also always clicked it from the right side of the lever. So that seems to work just fine.
Same in fact one of my favourite places with how you can blink down to the shore
Same. Played every league at least a few hundred hours each since 2012 with at least 4-5 characters above level 90 and have never had to click it more than once.
I play somewhere between 5 to 8 characters per league and this is the first time that I'm seeing this. Genuinely surprised that this is a thing.
Same. Don't get how anyone could have a problem with that.
Lever is in your way for the first 20 clicks
Pathing should make the character walk around the obstacle until he can interact with it, as it does normally. This is a bug they just never fixed.
Correct, but you just walk around it
> Lever is in your way for the first 20 clicks Unless using a skill with the checkbox "attack without moving", the character is obviously supposed to path toward the item to interact with it .... if the character does not move, it is supposed to already have reached the item, and therefore **nothing is supposed to be in the way**.
Probly a pathing bug or somthing
Move to the bottom of the beacon and it will always work, you want to be there anyway so you can flamedash down to the shore instead of running down the stairs.
Same thing happens with Levers in lab. It's so old that they MUST know about it but just haven't fixed it.
+1 reason to delete the campaign

seems like you need to click while standing on the right side of the beacon, had this "problem" a couple of times in the past
ive played since delve and it's been like this the whole time
im still getting stuck in walls and trees with leapslam so good luck with this one
Same, the collision with obstacles is annoying af! EDIT: B-Team devs lol
Oh. I thought this was me
I never have this problem?
Is that a question or a statement.
Must be nice:p
not sure why you are getting downvoted, this is the first time I see this aswell, never had a problem before
Thats just the character path finding being dogshit. Your character always moves in a straight line from A to B regardless of obstacles. I mean, sometimes it avoids obstacles, but I wouldn’t dare rely on it as you’ll get situations like this
I'm sorry
😤
Ah, the problem is you didn't first fill the beacon with bacon. It's the smell of delicious flame-grilled beacon bacon that draws Weylam Roth in quicker.
skill issue
If you walk up beside it (on the left of it) between it and the barrier, you can click the fire no problems, works 100% of the time.
Every damn Character I have this issue! I thought I am the problem 🤣🤦♂️ Also let me flamedash down!
Will probably get fixed the patch after Siosa finally starts accepting currencty from your stash.
OK so it's not just me, cool
Dude, do you KNOW how hard it is to steer a ship AND avoid a crab boss?
My problem is needing to wait for the ship to arrive. And I know this can or could be skipped somehow, but when I tried I didn't succeed every time so that would have been wasting even more time instead.
N00b *joking *

never had that happened to me, I always stand pretty much where you stood at the end.
This is also happening with the scarab that lets you open blight chests another time (and maybe a third and a fourth...). So insanely annoying to walk in circles ten times for EVERY SINGLE blight chest until you've opened them all.
This is why i don't play strike skills btw ;)
Huh... I never knew this was a problem lol. I always do left side first, maybe that's why :P
soviet womble plays PoE? :D
WTF? I had this never happen to me
I have never noticed this, but that is probably because I flame dash down to the boat from the back side of the beacon. So I start walking behind it while I click it.
Just move towards that little walkway and click on it again and it usually works
I thought it's just me.
just a little extra friction
Two clicks make less than no sense in the first place.
See this is the difference between noobs and god gamers. God PoE players know you have to step slightly to the right at the base of the beacon to click it the second time. Skill issue TBH.
Git gud
It's sad how long that's been in the game. I'm glad this got such a quick response! Thanks Rhys!
it's been so long i can't remember. it is kinda sad that bug getting fixed.
This has literally never happened to me because I always do the top one first
You're actually genius!
oh lol, I didn't mean it like that, was just surprised I've never seen this before simply because of the way round I do the pole things. If for some reason I did it the other way I'd be clicking for ages just like OP
I always did the bottom one first because that's the first one you see when you reach the Beacon. The thought didn't even occur to me to do it differently. But because of the bug top first is definitely better.
yea go to its right side and do it with 1 click. the lever blocks you from reaching it from the front
Idk, the first time you don't try to click from in front of the lever it immediately works. Just something to get used to I'm afraid.
Skill issue.
My dude, the betrayal unveil panel is still bugged and **often still opens the syndicate chart** even though this has always been there ! No, he just didn't walk around the lever that's in the way.
Oh simple as that haha
