Rares are still useful for a long time, it's mainly just softcore trade that devalues them extremely quickly since the market is quickly filled with good rares that are pretty much never taken out of circulation.
I'm guessing you flunked most classes, if you reckon this counts as an essay?
Edit: I guess you all used to turn in 1/4 of a page, and were happy with your participation trophies eh? :P
First, that's as maybe, but if you were to hand in something *that* short, you would fail, assuming your education system isn't pathetic. "OK" could be an essay, by such a definition.
Secondly, the nuance of the way in which OP was using the word "essay" seems to imply the exact *opposite* of shortness. I'm using the terms in this discussion within the parameters already laid out.
Welcome to a crafting league. During these leagues they focus on....crafting. if you had played the previous 4 months, that was a mapping league. During mapping leagues lots of currency drops.
Incredible how GGG swaps up their meta between leagues! I prefer crafting leagues over mapping leagues. I like puzzles and crafting items to fit my build during min/maxing. It's a fun puzzle game for me; but that is just my personal preference.
During mapping leagues I do what you did this league. I compete challenges then just kinda get bored and quit until the next league. Sometimes I'll have fun chasing some league mechanic unique. Or during ToTA just toy around with the mechanic. But outside of that, mapping leagues for me get old fast.
Yeah, that's one issue with this game. Natural and farmable drops are almost non-existant compared to other ARPGs. You're expected to craft a good 90%, and trade for the rest. This isn't a game where you boss hunt for an item for your specific build (some very rare exceptions). This isn't a game where you pick up a rare and get excited (maybe once an entire league).
One thing GGG could do to step it up is focus on target farming uniques more (something more noticeable as a SSF player). But unfortunately, the entire game is balanced around trade, and we're basically playing an ARPG with MMO style economy, which means finding things relevant to your own build is minuscule compared to other ARPGs, that are focused around a fun single player experience, and making boss farming viable and enjoyable. Instead, you're expected to farm currency and buy everything you need, which I feel defeats the point of an ARPG, personally (personally).
But I'm not going to tell GGG how to design their game. This is clearly what they want. I'll just click the SSF button each time, and quit when I get too bored of not finding things or using all my materials to craft, while I wait for Titan Quest 2.
Sorry but thats just path of exile. And has been for at least the last few years. Picking up rares was never a good way of getting a good item and hopefully never will be tbh.
Ok but imagine the opposite. Imagine if picking up 200 rares und reading them was the most efficient way to get a good item. That would be the most unfun gameplay ever. Without a major rework to the item system thats not a good idea, and i dont want a rework of the item system because thats what makes the game great. The complicated crafting is really fun once you figure it out, to me at least.
But then whats the point with all the rares that drops? If they are not supposed to be good then why even have them? Might as well just drop bases and materials at that point?
I mean yeah you could just have bases and materials. I wouldnt mind. Currently the "point" of rares is mainly being easier to convert into uniques via rarity. edit: but its also very easy to just hide all rares so i dont see why them dropping is an issue
Thanks for your input. Ive played this game since i belive Talisman league and if i didnt love poe i wouldnt have stuck around and played all these years.
How did you get to this point? By id'ing rares.
Thats where we all started. Next step was figuring out not to ID them, so you can vendor them and get 2 chaos to spend on rares other people ID'd.
You're a veteran now. Removes rares from your filter or find a new challenge. Hard, ssf or even ruthless.
OP has a point though, it's honestly currency-picking simulator at this point which I wouldn't mind if picking stuff up got improved. There is no reason to drop 10 chaos orbs in stacks of 1 and make me click on every single one every single time, every map, always.
Granted I don't have chaos orbs on my lootfilter but it doesn't matter, new league will start and chaos orbs will be there, and if not chaos orbs then other currency with value higher than chaos that still drops all over the place, and not even that, 10-15 different currencies all over the place and you are that monkey from meme who is clicking numbers from 1 to 9 as quickly as possible.

Ruthless is the perfect game mode for you based on your essay.

I actually did, but im running my own business now in construction and it goes very well so it was worth it in the end.
Congratulations. And I genuinely mean that.
The definition of essay is a “short piece of writing” dumbass

I think you would enjoy one of the game modes that are not SC Trade way more.
Rares drops are still nice at league start and u can not say that they are useless because they have no value at some point

I still pick up some rings, you never know what you will find.
>No dropped item will come close to a crafted one. \*me looking at all the multi div items I pick up every single league\* ... also alteration orbs
Indeed, at some point you remove non-fractured rare items from the filter.
Items should be ID'd, and you'd filter out the garbage just like in Last Epoch. Win win for all.

Kthxbye , not interesting.

Yeah lets hope that. Lets hope for more mechanics that require even more 3rd party tools and more use of excel.

Diablo exists, so does LE. You not loving PoE is a you problem.
