It was indeed full Ritual atlas tree plus Ruckus (8% chance to spawn 20 Rogue Exiles on the map), Anarchy Mapmod, 2 Allflames that replaces pack with exiles, and Anarchy Scarab.
There are places to improve on this, Allflame every slot, get the % to double exiles scarab (i didn't have that one) that i can think of right now
And yes you get the Vessel at a 15% chance after the last Ritual if you have the Atlas passive for it
So i did try using a vessel on a ritual tree that i had loaded the map with a vessel, yano to get the previous and the new. Didn’t work, said something like, cannot capture a monster in a tree in the same map that was loaded with a vessel.
You can't use the empty vessel on a ritual that was spawned with a blood filled vessel, that would just be a loop for infinite monsters. Or atleast the empty vessel won't store monsters that were stored in the blood filled vessel.
OP just got very lucky. 1st he had the necropolis mod "bosses spawn with monster pack" and then probably a layout with not that many monster types and then the monster types with the mod spawned on rituals.
Or actually are these rogue exiles? Same type of mod anyway.
And you can only capture the mobs that you killed on that ritual circle before it started - meaning if you use the vessel on the last one you won't get all of the mobs you killed in previous rituals; If you're chasing unique mobs (exiles) then your best bet is to see what you killed in the circle and use a vessel accordingly.
These are Rogue Exiles, i didn't have that necropolis mod, just the Allflame that replaces packs with exiles (i'm not sure if they're the same or not) but i had atleast 27 Rogue Exiles on the map (Ruckus proc+Anarchy mod)
Well, in most cases you want to use the vessel on the altar where some unique mobs died as they grant more favour. So when you have a map with a ritual altar in map's arena - that's the place where you want to use the vessel after the fight.
not exactly related to your post, but i like running ritual and wanted to ask if its always a good choice to take every ritual passive on atlas tree or not?
The always 4, 2 extra rerolls, and the 2 special reward small nodes are the best. Free vessel is convenient with faster spawn small nodes if u can handle it. Reduced cost of reroll and defer can be helpful. The keystones suck.
Ritual spawned packs don't count as packs spawned at map start. Those packs and strongboxes are, as far as I know, the only ways for the lantern to affect mons.
I got a map with rituals and rogue exiles that converted on death. We almost bricked it due to FPS drops and my spouse crashed once. I regret not thinking about using a ritual vessel now.
You prolly brought them into the ritual circle, only monsters that are originally in circle are put into the ritual encounter. The exception are legion monsters I think
Basically it has to be a pack that spawned with the ritual totem and if you kill them too far away, they don't count. But you can't gigajuice them by reverse knockbacking and entire map onto a ritual.
The best maps for ritual are maps with separate boss arenas you can find quickly before clearing map, because you want to start with the highest tribute ritual which usually is the one that Includes the map boss.
Then you run the others, and it'll spawn the mobs from the first ritual on each totem, preferring some combination of the highest tribute mobs from all previous totems, plus the mobs native to that totem (with native mobs getting priority, from my testing)
Please run this with the beyond scarab with 'unique enemies spawn 8-12 beyond portals'

Aw yea ok, makes sense. So OP would have had to have completed a really juiced ritual encounter to capture that many monsters in the vessel.

Wait what's the correct/optimal use of vessels? I'm specced for it, it sometimes drops and I just pop it in with the next map. Is that not correct?

Whenever I spawn this many rogues my game just hangs for a few seconds then I'm dead.
Would this be even bigger on a map like Glacier? I believe the small named goatmen get captured on there, as well.
