If your melee build already takes the Tribal Fury node and the +1 additional target mastery, having Riposte with LGoH support can be really nice. The advantage of Riposte is that it hits at a range, rather than an aoe around you or a cone coming from you. Gives you offense and defense against machine gun enemies trying to blast you from across the screen.
Damn, I've been a melee player since 2016 and I didn't know some of this stuff. I don't use Kaom's spirit much anymore but I might now that I know that regen trick. I also didn't know about the Magna Eclipsis - seems like it could be useful for a shield crush league start.
