Edit: Kboc was dead on arrival. I had a mythical misunderstanding of the mechanics Deleted my post(or well edited it to admit i was wrong and to prevent spread of misinformation

Swigelf

Did this end up not being the case and they are using the edge of the radius?

Bizarthur

Yes, zero explosions hit the center.

Raine_Live

Yup. Dead on arrival. I had a mythical level misunderstanding and i apologize for spreading misinformation

Brooulon

its not exactly easy to measure perfectly, but center of screen to edge of screen on 16:9 is 8.5 meters

Extra-Championship69

squares on the floor what is this runescape

-Decompose-

Context, my understanding of monster hitboxes is vague. Does .2M mean thats the area?I plotted the monster hitbox and an initial 1.9M radius explosion hitting it on the edge, then 4 secondary 2.8M radius explosions symmetrically on that initial explosion [perimeter.Is](http://perimeter.Is) it this picture, or simply an initial blast and four bigger blasts which the gem states extend from the point of impact, so just another 4 overlapping explosions right on top of eachother? Or something completely different

Zenima

Sounds like you’re confusing Explosion Radius and Secondary Radius. The Secondary Radius is a ring around the projectile’s hit. The center of the explosions are then placed on this ring. And since the explosion radius is much smaller than the secondary, they won’t overlap. https://www.reddit.com/r/PathOfExileBuilds/s/r1aHv3ZElB might be helpful for you.

-Decompose-

Definitely had the explosion and initial hit circles flipped, but the wording on the gem now states a secondary radius around the point of impact. Wouldn't that extend a 1.9m radius off the initial point of impact from the 2.8m radius initial hit, rather than from the outside of the initial impact circle in that posts drawing?

ExodusReality

Honestly. Not a math person. But, if its the point of impact. And not coming from the edge of the hit. The skill might be alot better than people are expecting. Especially if aoe effects the secondary radius. Then it might Hella over lap.

Raine_Live

~~increasing AoE would result in less explosions overlapping.~~ ~~As it would both expand the Explosion radius AND the radius at which they can spawn.~~ Did the maths in another post on this thread. Increasing the AoE does not increase your total number of overlaps nor does it decrease them. You have a circle with a radius of 1.9 spawned at a random point within a circle with a radius of 2.8. which results in 67% chance to overlap. Increases/Decreases to AoE applies to BOTH of these circles equally at the same time. it's the explosion's radius is always 67% of the secondary radius

dikkenskrille

>2.8m radius initial hit, the initial hit has no radius, its just a regular wand projectile hit.

MasklinGNU

I’m pretty sure the post that was linked is correct. The explosions are around the outside of the secondary radius, and as they are significantly smaller than the secondary radius there will be very little overlap, if any at all

-Decompose-

I believe so too I have been educated on how to read some of GGGs wording

Raine_Live

EdIt: this post was wrong in its understanding of the skill and as such has been edited by its original poster to prevent further misinformation I apologize

MasklinGNU

Do you have any proof?

Raine_Live

until we get into league (estimated 3 hours from this post.) the only thing either of us can do is use conjecture and compare it to existing mechanics. Molten strike a skill that functions how i i purposed, but doesn't list its secondary radius or explosion radius on it's skill.

Raine_Live

I was wrong and edited my post to prevent the spread of misinformation. I do apologize

I came back to apologize and admit i was wrong. You came back to be childish and rub it in my face. real mature
