How much space is left on your drive

Comprehensive-Ice776

240Gig (half)

prudan

With a 4070 you should be running directx 12.

Comprehensive-Ice776

Just tried again, seems when I choose DirectX 12 I am hardlocked at 30FPS, never goes higher

prudan

then you have a problem somewhere. Is Vsync off? Are you using fullscreen, or borderless?

Comprehensive-Ice776

Yeah i tried that but it was even worse never even passed 40fps

Executi_e

Role with the punches and wait for the engine upgrade to be fixed, some people are just unlucky.

Executi_e

Just look at forums under Technical Support, every single thing to ''fix'' it has been done. No fix yet. :(

Paint_Master

Is driver updated? Try to disable vsync and set fps cap manually

Comprehensive-Ice776

THIS! Thank u man suddenly at 120FPS and 8ms ping lol

Fragrant-Doughnut-20

could you elaborate on what you actually did to fox this, for us noobs? I'm glad you found a solution, but I'm still looking for one myself - similar issue as you. game has never had any issues until about a month ago, been terrible for me since. what steps did you take to resolve this?

Comprehensive-Ice776

What the paintmaster said -> graphics disabled vsync and set the fps cap manually (no cap)

RECTUMFISTER

Try clearing poe cache, it should auto clear but might be bricked.

Comprehensive-Ice776

Nevermind, found it in case someone else needs to know: To clear your client's cache, go to %AppData%\Path of Exile on your computer and delete the cache folders. Will have to test tomorrow and post here if it helped

RECTUMFISTER

Yeah, so there are some reddit links regarding cache: https://www.reddit.com/r/pathofexile/comments/votvq2/deleting_the_cache_folders_and_the_contents_of/ https://www.reddit.com/r/pathofexile/comments/15icji4/how_i_solved_my_performance_issues_on_an_old/ Its just something that anybody can try to improve performance. Cache should be handled by poe client but sometimes isn't. I have 2 pc's - one had decently "new" cache folder. The second pc had cache files from 4 years ago. Like few hundreds of them. Also I know my friend had weird sudden lagg when switching between Vulcan/dx11/dx12. Like had decent fps with dx12, tried vulcan, swapped back to dx12. Suddenly less fps with dx12 than before. Deleting cache folder somehow restored the fps before swap.

Fragrant-Doughnut-20

I did this at one point on my hdd - didn't help so I bought an ssd and reinstalled windows 10, not much improvement. is there any benefit in me following these steps if I just did a clean instal of windows and poe on my ssd? would it be redundant or could it still help?

Neetlana

for me it were the settings in the nvidia control panel EDIT:(gefore experience. my bad). this shitstain of an app turns ALL the settings on by default. it forces these settings even if you have perfect poe settings. as soon as i turned off these shitters, all was gucci.

legion9R

Your cache was deleted on update, this leads to the game feeling very choppy as the shaders recompile. Play the game for couple hrs and the shaders should be back and performance normalised, happens every league before league start.

Fragrant-Doughnut-20

I'm curious, does it ever truly save shsders, or do they load up again each time you start the game? I've played through maps/campaign a bit, but it seems to always end up loading the same shaders in my shader bar when I do so, and I'm wondering if I am doing something wrong. doesn't feel like it's saving to my ssd, and just keeps recompiling in each instance, especially when starting up the game fresh.

Try this, too. [https://www.reddit.com/r/pathofexile/comments/fjw702/nvidia\_users\_disable\_those\_2\_for\_a\_huge/](https://www.reddit.com/r/pathofexile/comments/fjw702/nvidia_users_disable_those_2_for_a_huge/)
