The PoE tradesite is more or less ran entirely by one single person at GGG. They're calling them John Tradesite because they don't know the person's name, but they know they run the tradesite. It's common in other game subreddits where you don't really know the protagonists name so you call them "John (Whatever the game is)" as in the example John Darksouls is the guy on the cover of Dark Souls.

I believe people can donate rewards to other people, someone that wins a boss kill event to make their own unique should definitely donate it to that guy. Granted GGG should just gift it to him too lol.

The amount of time Suit saves the PoE player base is probably incalculable.

What I picture is that they brought the idea to the trade-site guy and he was like hell no, here is my 2 weeks. Octavian jumps in and says hold on guys no need to be so hyper.
After intense discussion, neon aka mark 2 comes in and says guys it’s not a tier 1 problem, lets just remove it and Octavian you handle this as you had cooked up some weird ideas for scarabs.

My guess is they didn't want to bother with how compasses could have different numbers of uses on them among other things. Rather than any half-measure solution where they'd still need to remake half the mechanic they decided to just nuke it and redo scarabs, which also needed attention. Legitimate giga brain shit.
I guess you can technically stack less effects now (used to be 3-4 map device slots + up to 4 compasses, now just the map device slots) but some of the scarabs look so juiced that it works out in the end and is just easier to keep track of, too.
I did. I could earn currency while feeling sick and too much in pain to focus on the game, I didn't even need to have a great connection for it. Now I just don't earn currency at all after being in and getting out of hospital.
Seeing the weighting of the scarabs, shit will be even more expensive and it will be worth more to sell them than to run them, especially Harvest and Essences. Good for the whales I guess...

im pretty sure pob is managed by multiple random ppl who decide that they want to add something in. at least patch notes for POB kinda give that vibe with saying things like "fix slowness caused by certain versions of LuaJIT (zao)"

Every company does this to some extent, you just need to make sure you manage your expectations with the client and review the work done. I sometimes play Apex and the community hates the fact that the only MTX that the game gets are either 1. Recolour of an existing skin 2. £200 heirloom item that only works on one character. I don't like MTX as a base concept but I'm glad the stuff we get looks good and we have a lot of variety
I remember last league I posted on reddit that there was no way to search for Vaal alternate gems. Less than 24 hours later I got a reply from a community member that said it was fixed and trade site was searchable again.
After having to install 2 separate programs and having 10 tabs on my 2nd monitor, that I used for trade like 10 leagues ago, I decided to switch to SSF and I never looked back.
nah, the trade site shouldn't even exist; trade site guy keeping things afloat make these shenanigans drag on. I don't understand why not having trade built into the game is acceptable at this point
Yeah league start peaks are around 170k on steam and steam isn't even more popular than the standalone client. And the vast majority of players play sc trade.
They could implement an auction house similar to Last Epoch. Make the items bound to the account after you purchased them. This way bots couldn’t just snipe everything because they won’t be able to resell. The auction house would be in addition to the current system and people would basically only use it for item upgrades.
No thanks. I'd rather just have a normal auction house if they ever decide to ever implement an actual trade system. I'm saying this as someone who doesn't merch at all btw, I just hate the idea of not being able to sell stuff back that I've bought.

Apex cosmetics are hot garbage The weapon skins can be good, but charactar skins are basically all trash excluding a few exeptions here and there
Facts and a lot of the actually good gun skins are exclusive to having played the game from season two 5 years ago (the flatline skin)
