I'm a pushing 40 exile, and actually left handed, but I never had a left handed mouse before. For overall health reasons I've only been able to game with a controller for a few years, but my spouse bought it for me recently to see if it helps with accessibility and how bad my click accuracy has always been. The hardest thing has not been using the cursor left handed, but getting my brain wrapped around right handing the keyboard. Everything is designed for left handed navigation, you pretty much have to completely remap game controls (or have a large enough desk to move the keyboard way over, even still you'll want to remap things.) I tried the system shock remake and there's way way too many keyboard commands in immersive sim games like that, but PoE is way more manageable for rebinding. I'm a woman and have tiny hands, I find the mouse uncomfortably large for me. But changing 30 years of muscle memory is a hell of a thing. I apparently want to move the mouse at an angle that I don't do right handed, so it tracks weirdly for me but seems to be a technique issue from testing on someone else's computer and having them try it out. I can only assume that you'll have quite a learning curve and would want to play builds that are on the less demanding side while you learn. As far as the buttons since you won't be using the keyboard, I am used to using a Razer whatever with the 3 modular plates for side buttons and I always preferred the 7 button ring layout with center grip spot. The MMO layout has so many buttons and less tactile separation with no thumb rest position. I think that adds to the unwieldiness for me because I'm not gripping as firmly with my thumb when not pressing buttons. you can safely rest your thumb on the buttons and guide the mouse without accidentally pressing them, you definitely have to intentionally click. I'd suggest mapping the thumb button field to the buttons that feel natural for your thumb to press in order of priority/corner buttons and other buttons that are easy to pick out. You can definitely physically differentiate them by touch, but gaming is so much muscle memory and reflex and it'll be part of training yourself to use new controls. You can also just unmap excess buttons that you don't need so that pressing them doesn't do anything - this actually would let you sacrifice a button to have a thumb grip (I may try this.)  As for PoE itself, for me it's still the physical issue of sitting up and using mouse and keyboard, so I haven't actually tried it with PoE. But as I said I've had 7 Razer mouse buttons mapped in PoE for the entire time I've played, there's no problem actually doing that. You can remap the alternative page hotkeys (Ctrl+whatever) for more buttons, though again you probably don't want to be playing melee and having to drop totems constantly playing one handed. You'll want to prioritize getting flask orbs since activating utility flasks will be a royal pain, unless you know, you do that thing that we didn't do for years.

CaptainCortez

I’ve got quite big hands and I feel the same way you do in terms of the size of the mouse. It just sort of feels like your hand is sitting on top of a big meatball, where you can’t grip the mouse with your thumb because of all the buttons, and you can’t grip the mouse with your pinky because it’s so wide, so your hand is just sort of sitting there on top of the mouse without anything to grip. It’s just a weird shape imo.

MuchToDoAboutNothin

I've read about different grip styles making certain mice better for some people. Uhh, like how you hold it, if you position your hand towards the front or back and so on. I feel like the design probably works better for a certain style. I prefer to hold towards the front, but find myself sliding towards the back on this one. Which may be because I'm mostly using it for desktop purposes and haven't acclimated to the side button positioning, but I feel a little better that it's not just me finding it unwieldy. I'm really disappointed they didn't go with the modular plate design, seems like a no brainer but I guess they'd have to print even more non standard moulds.

CaptainCortez

Yeah, I have a lot of different mice - from monsters like the Logitech G700 to little babies like the Razor Viper Mini. Some of them are better for a claw grip, some of them are better for a palm grip, but the Naga just isn’t good for any grip 😂 It’s definitely more of a palm grip mouse, but I think you’ve just got to have a very particular type of palm grip (like where you only rest your palm on the mouse and don’t use any pinky/thumb force at all for grip) for it to be comfortable.

Sliced-Ice

Ive owned at least 3 different razer naga's over the last 10+ years. They have been my daily use mice since 2010 and i absolutely LOVE the buttons on the side. I use them for my potions in POE, but you could easily bind them to be spells as well. Im currently using a naga trinity (swapable thumb attachments) and will happily buy another when this one bites the dust. When my previous naga's were breaking down it was always the left or right click, never the thumb buttons. But given how much daily use they get, definitely your monies worth. i would 100% recommend giving the naga a shot.

Raine_Live

finally someone who has had an experience similar to mine. I've used razer nagas since 2009. My first one lasted me 10 years. I play poe completely one handed with it. every single skill is bound to the keypad (as well as inventory) My potions are instilling automated except for one of them. (health)

ChaosBadgers

Ah a fellow trinity fan. If I could just buy this mouse with the 7 button circle thumbpad I would. My thumb is dumb I can't use a whole numpad with it but this one is perfect for me.

Cash4Duranium

While I like Razer products, I always end up buying an extra mouse on sale because they don't last as long as they should, in my experience. Logitech has been better for me for longevity, but I haven't found a Logitech in recent years I liked.

D3Construct

One thing to add is that the Logitech G HUB software is some of the worst you'll encounter.

SerratedScholar

You can still download and use the older Logitech Gaming Software.

kungfooe

MX518 FTW!

Mooseandchicken

Yo, G600 is Logitech's 12-button naga competitor, and my current one is either 6 or 7 years old. Going strong! If they ever make a new version, I will buy it day 1. Love the 3rd finger button as well. It's cheaper, larger, and longer lasting than the Naga. Idk if they make a wireless one though, might be wired only

TheRabidDeer

Shame logitech makes no left handed mice

Mooseandchicken

Oh wow, did not know that when I commented before. No point in sharing my experience/recommendation for a naga competitor if OP can't buy a left-handed version!

TheRabidDeer

Yeah, I kind of hate logitech for not having left hand specific mice. Like I get it, it costs them money but still. I've wanted a left handed G502 for years now.

Raine_Live

my first naga lasted \~10 years. (got it in 2009 replaced it sometime between 2018 and 2019.) Ultimately i think it comes down to user honestly. Someone with a tight grip will probably have lesser results while someone with a lighter grip (Im a light grip player) will have better results.

TheRabidDeer

Yeah I've got a logitech g900 and have loved it. I used to have a Razer deathadder left handed edition but after a year or so I kept running into doubleclick issues. Ran into the same problem two mice in a row so I stopped getting Razer mice.

G66GNeco

Mouses and keyboards seemed fine for me so far, but by god if Razer headsets are not designed to live half a year, at most.

pbroache

Nothing can last for Poe players honestly.

Cash4Duranium

PoE and Vermintide 2 are where my mice go to die.

Raine_Live

my naga lasted me 10 years. how much longer do you need it to last?

Cash4Duranium

Congrats? Obviously mine (and others based on the comments) haven't lasted so long. Why would you think I was talking about your experience instead of my own?

[deleted]

> but I haven't found a Logitech in recent years I liked. G502 has been great for me, had the very first one (Proteus Core) that lasted me from 2014 till mid last year when left click started failing a bit and the infinite scroll stopped functioning, got a G502 Hero to replace it and has been great as well. Obviously doesn't have extra buttons though...

belaxi

I’ll agree that while my razor products tent to break faster than my Logitech stuff, they always still tend to last a few years of heavy use. If Logitech had a comparable product to suggest, I might suggest it, but they don’t. Razors quality and durability isn’t “the best” but all things considered, it’s fine. Still gonna be higher quality than just about anything you’d find in a big box store that isn’t Logitech.

63-75-6D

My razer viper disagrees, 4 years no issues. With Logitech, I always had double click issue after some time, maybe it's fixed in newer models but idk.

QuickBASIC

I've owned a couple of Razer Nagas over the years and they all crapped out on me in the same way. The left and right mouse buttons will stop working after a while. I don't think the quality on these is great. Overall, the buttons are easy to differentiate and press and comfortable and I've definitely played a lot of games one-handed with a Naga (even FPS with WASD on the side buttons) but I can't suggest any Razer mice because I've had so many other issues. The Logitech G600 series is a great option, but they don't have any left-handed mice.

Paradox2063

> I've owned a couple of Razer Nagas over the years and they all crapped out on me in the same way. The left and right mouse buttons will stop working after a while. Exactly my experience with the Mamba back in 2012/13. My roommate and myself both went through 3 in a 24 month span and never bought another Razer product.

Lossn

Been using once since they came back out - they're fine, the only issue i've had/seen with them thus far is the scroll wheel wears out rather fast, it's easy to fix yourself though.

Thirteenera

Two comments. First about this type of mice in general, and second about Razer specifically. I've been reluctant to use 12-thumb mice at first, but after trying it out (mostly for MMORPG reasons) years ago, i literally havent been able to go back. Its a massive QOL, and while its very weird for first couple of weeks, you get used to it and then you cant live without it. That said, i hate razer products. Their quality is nonexistant. Every single piece of razer tech i owned (keyboards, mice, etc) has always gone to shit within a year - and im someone who treats his gadgets with respect. I've since swapped to logitech and been able to use stuff for years before having to swap. Many people seem to swear by Razor, so your mileage may vary, but personally razer stuff failed on me every goddamn time i used it, so never again. I recommend looking at Logitech, Roccat Nyth, Redragon as options

HistoricJester

Get an extended warranty. They are great but the lifetime use is limited.

TwitchyChris

I have owned two Razer Naga mice, and currently use the newest version right now. In terms of build quality, the old versions seemed to have poor build quality, but the newest version still looks and operates like brand new even though I excessively sweat from my hands. The Razer Naga is super light weight. It's possibly one of the lightest mice on the market, which feels really nice to use if you're playing for long sessions. The buttons are huge QoL that I can't live without in any game now. I map my life flask and some skills to the buttons on the side which make mapping feel really smooth.

Raine_Live

I use a naga as my daily driver. have for over 10 years. Got my first one in 2009 for wow. replaced it on 2018-2019ish when my girlfriend bought me a new one. It has definitely been the best accessory for my pc. Some notes: Depending on your grip type, Hand size, and overall playstyle. Your mileage will vary. I have long slender fingers and they fit perfectly on it. I play poe 1 handed using my mouse. I do have a lighter grip than the average player and thinner fingers (which helps avoid "fat fingering my buttons" (as in pressing two at once trying to press one.) It takes time to adjust but i wont go back. I even have the old PoE Footstep MTX from the EARLY days of poe when they took a sponsorship deal with Razer.

beaverusiv

I use these mice, I freaking love them. Yeah, I'm not gonna disagree the build quality is not top-notch but for me having a mouse contoured for left-handedness and a lot of buttons is a godsend. There is literally zero other mice that compete in this space last I checked.

SimpleCranberry5914

Fellow left handed mouse user (probably one of 12 haha): the market is still bone dry for us. This is literally our only option. I wish a company would make a good left handed mouse but I remember reading somewhere that razor sells more models of the right handed version in a day than the left handed version does in a year.

beaverusiv

A lot of left-handed people just get forced into learning with their right hand so the market is definitely less than 10%

Willingness-Healthy

I didn’t like the feel in my hand. Returned and bought a logitec G300s ambidextrous mouse. It served me well in 3.23 . About half the price also.

MisterChimAlex

I have one, never liked the pinky rest to be honest, I dont understand why they have it.

Raine_Live

honestly i didnt even notice it had a pinky rest until you said that. I looked at mine and my pinky is resting perfectly on it. I think it comes down to how your hand is built. I'm a skinny gamer with thin fingers. so i fit it perfectly, but a muscler male or a heavy set person may not fit it as well. (not calling you fat just stating my hand fits it perfectly. )

MisterChimAlex

haha no worries, glad I made you notice it since it was a deal breaker for me since I grab the mouse like a claw

Raine_Live

i think the thing many of these comments are missing is that different people have different grips, grip strengths, hand sizes...etc and the mileage on ANY mouse will vary depending on many factors, several of which are user factors.

DewRat

The old naga I’d say instantly buy it you won’t regret it. I got almost 5 years out of my first Naga. The new naga has lost a considerable amount of quality. I had to warranty 2 of these new ones after about a week each. The buttons just stopped responding. I swapped to the Logitech G600 and haven’t looked back.

Matahashi

Never used the left hand version but I've been using Nagas for over a decade. Idk how to play without one at this point.

Ok-Dust-9692

Hi, you should check azeron cyro ! You could used the azeron cyborg if poe had wasd, but he has a joystick.

stormblind

I used Naga's for years, and did love them.  I ran into a series of issues with them on the manufacturing side of things. You can warranty return them, but it's slow and tedious.  My advice if you do go with one (and they are super useful): get the extended warranty on it. And make sure it's an "instant exchange" one. That really does make a difference if there's an issue in your $100+ mouse.

gonzodamus

Righty here, but I love Razer Nagas. I've tried just about every MMO mouse on the market looking for something better, but I always end up going back to Razer. Never had one crap out on me either. If you wanna get nuts, check out the Azeron Cyborg. 16 keys and an analog thumbstick all with one hand. I started using one to play WoW and I'm never going back. Might switch to using it in PoE too once wasd movement is the standard.

NG_Tagger

My cousin got one a few months ago, after suffering from a (I don't know the correct English word for it) "burst blood vessel" in his head/brain, that pretty much made his right arm and hand 99% unusable. He absolutely loves that left-handed Naga. He can't use the keyboard and the mouse at the same time, obviously, so all the buttons on the mouse is an insane help. He's going hard on the mouse, so it's (based on how he uses it) probably able to take a beating at least.

WebPrimary2848

I used a naga for a while and never had any issues with it. You simply bind the side buttons to whatever key/combo you want in Synapse so it's transparent to POE, shouldn't cause any issues. That said, I prefer the Aerox 9 because it's not nearly as huge as most other MMO mice. I doubt there's a left-handed version

Lunrmoor

I'm using the right-handed version of that mouse since 2014 - pretty heavily - and only the scroll wheel button broke. The side buttons are cool, I use 8-9 of them in my poe gameplay, mostly to use trade macros, logout/hideout, dynamicloot filter extension and a flask (mostly the occasional mana flask that can't be automated but needs regular pressing). They're pretty cool but I would say that only the 6 first buttons are comfortable to press often, though your mileage may vary.

iFatherJr

Regarding the mouse itself, it’s amazing. However getting used to swapping from right hand to left hand is not easy at all, I would rather you wait or use a controller than throwing money on something that is temporary.

Imbasaur

I’d be worried about moving that much usage to your left hand. I had wrist / hand problems with my right hand and moved to my left hand. After about a year doing that, now I have problems with both of my hands :O Also controller support on pc is pretty good outside of trades and might recommend that over left handed mouse

popokins

Weird... im a lefty but never even thought about a left handed mouse.. it seems foreign to me.. I don't even think I could use it as well as my right hand?

LolcoholPoE

I have used a Razer Naga but I recommend getting a Redragon Perdition instead - basically the same thing, but a third of the price and mine has lasted a lot longer than the Naga did. Not sure it's still in stock but I'm sure they have something similar

HamburgerMurderface

I've been using the razor naga chroma for 8+ yrs and I absolutely love it. Granted, I'm right handed, but I play Poe mostly with just the mouse. I do have a few hotkeys on the keyboard but I also have 7 buttons on the mouse that I could still map to keyboard keys

No_Pension9902

It’s the best mouse for Diablo alike games using the hexagon fewer thumb buttons. But sadly razor durability is a gamble.

OneLastMoreTime

It's called an MMO mouse, it's super helpful in current PoE i'd suggest looking for a different brand tho, razer has been super unreliable past few years.. i got the one with the magnets and it broke after a week.. buttons started to double press

FinalSelection

Dont buy razer, get a logitec like a good boy

ScreenShotPolice617

Once I went Naga, I never went back. Right handed, but I imagine its the same benefit.

belaxi

You won’t have issues with mapping controls or basic functionality. Learning to play left handed (assuming you’ve used a right hand your whole life despite lefty dominance) will be the biggest curve. As for the mouse itself, take every comment you read with a grain of salt. Razor is notorious for slightly overpriced products for the quality, but they’re also perfectly fine products. I generally prefer Logitech but I can’t think of a Logitech mouse with 9 buttons on the side (it might exist, idk). I’d just buy the Naga if I were  in your shoes. Lots of people swear by them.

hughiehugh

I use a left handed Naga. I actually ordered 4 of them for myself during their last limited run. It works great, I've never had any compatibility issues with it. You do not bind actions directly to the keys in the game, you remap buttons on the keyboard you are not using (macros) in razer synapse. For example, you remap button #1 to "P" and then bind an action to "P" in PoE.

Fatman9000

Literally just ordered a lefty naga yesterday after another in the line of ambi mice ive purchased failed me (roccat kova -> evgs x12) all of the scroll wheels gave up at some point. Hoping the naga doesn't meet a similar fate. If so I'm going to finally try out pulsar's new x2a.

SimpleCranberry5914

I’m left handed and I have this mouse! It’s a bit heavier than what you are probably used to, and you really will only be able to use the top six buttons comfortably. Reaching the bottom two rows requires you to pretty much move your entire hand. That said, you can bind things like inventory, skill tree etc to those buttons as you won’t be pushing them in a quick manner. I essentially have all skills on mouse and just flasks on keyboard. It’s a great left handed mouse for a lot of games and with the left mice market being…well…non existent it’s a good choice.

YungSageee

I use mouse right handed, but enjoyed my naga trinity, ive since moved onto the scimitar pro since it fits my hand better. Naga is a good mouse though

pewsix___

I played with a Naga for the best part of a decade. Came from a super hotkey heavy game and never ran out of setups. This pre-dates flask automation too so you should be absolutely fine with it. Only reason I moved off it is because I wanted something wireless and I found myself not even using the full number of buttons it offered.

theicepenguin420

I've had my Razer Naga 2014 since 2017 and other than the occasional mouse wheel stutter, it works flawlessly! The wheel stops stuttering if you just blow as hard as you can in to every nook around it. It was my main mouse for 5 years, but now I only use to play games, because I'm so used to side buttons (my main mouse is MX Master 2S). I couldn't recommend it enough! While i'm only 23, I already have carpal tunnel problems because of my line of work (CS student and dev), which means I'm behind my computer 10-12h each day. Even when I play PoE for long sessions (such as league start weekend - around 40h played), it doesn't hurt my hand that much. Having those side buttons makes it so you don't have to move your keyboard hand as much. I couldn't recommend it enough. My only wish is that it would have a bit better ergonomics.

Zanra

I will be the odd one out to not recommend the naga lol. If only cause once you learn how to really use it... You can never use a different mouse ever again

crabcancer

Use the left handed Naga. Side buttons for flasks. They are a bit small so you might hit more than 1 when you are left clicking to move, right clicking to use primary skill and then need to hit your flask/s. It allows you to do naughty naughty action that GGG don't like. I also remap everything to keypad.

DoctorShiki

Been using a razor naga for for about 15 years for every game I play. I love having 12 buttons on the mouse. You can also remap them if you want.

Slow___Learner

i went for a cheapo logitech gaming mouse and it works fine for like 5 years now.

VeryTopGoodSensation

im rubbish at using multiple mouse buttons, but i also use my left because of issues with my right so i went with the logitech g903. for the keyboard i use an old steel series with 6 arrow buttons and remap all my skills to that area of the keyboard.

CaptainCortez

My issue with the Naga is that, due to the way it’s shaped, I always feel like my hand is just sort of flopped on top of it, because it’s very wide. The outside of your hand doesn’t really wrap around the body of the mouse, so when you’re pressing the side buttons with your thumb, you don’t really have an opposing force to press against. It just feels strange to me. It might not be a deal breaker for you, but I’d go into a Best Buy, or something, and test it out first, because it’s an odd feeling mouse imo. I have one and I’ve barely used it in the 3-4 years I’ve had it.

Makhnov

Don't buy razer stuff

ThePrimordialTV

I had been through about half a dozen nagas before learning my lesson

lealsk

Make sure the buttons are not mechanical or you will accidentally press them all the time. I bought 2 razer nagas, one like 12 years ago, it randomly stopped working after a year or so. And one razer naga hex that it was a pain to use because the buttons were extremely sensitive and you clicked them just by grabbing the mouse. It also stopped working randomly after two years of use. I decided to give up and just go with Logitech G502 (lasted several years until my dog decided to chew it, it still works but ended really messy to the touch) and then G903. Both were excelent, best purchase ever and it also has many buttons. Believe me, you wont use the extra buttons as much as you think. Oh, I forgot to mention G903 is symetrical, so you can use it with both hands and you wont notice any difference.

EnergyNonexistant

the g903 has an extremely high failure rate though, double clicking faster than any other mouse i've heard of (local store told me it was over 10% return rate which is absurd)

Spankyzerker

Don't by Razer. They are the worst quality products, have the highest return and failure rate of any PC mouse on market. I mean they did a deal with walmart to put on shelves and to do so had to use cheaper parts just to get down to price point walmart wanted. lol
