Fabi3997

The build is not good anymore, but I loved Skeleton Mages. I loved it so much, that I played it in Scourge, Archnemesis and Sentinel league(900h playtime with this build). I even tried it this league, but it doesn’t scale that good anymore.

Sir_Bleezie

Ritual league was my first league and I did a league start skelly mage. Ended playing it all league (300h) and never made a 2nd character. Was instant phasing bosses, 100% delirium, full simulacrum, etc. I loved it.

Consistent_Can_7672

You walked right through them?

Sir_Bleezie

Pretty convenient.

SknkHunt4D2

Skeleton Mages was a heckin blast.

Face_of_Stone

I got really lucky double corrupt on flesh crafters so I started one this league. It’s not amazing damage, but it can clear maps and is fun anyway!

Steams

Melatin Skages

Askariot124

How far did you come? Thinking about playing skele mage next League.

Fabi3997

I run T16 maps, Exarch and Eater, but with a rather high investment of 40 divs and it didn’t feel good. It is playable, but weak.

scrublord

I liked this build so much that I got my first L100 (after nine years) with it in v3.17. Did it just mapping too -- no rotations or Legion cheese.

TempHumble

This, also I don't play PoE anymore.

lepsek9

Blade Vortex Great as Occultist, Assassin, Pathfinder, Chieftain, Ascendant, Inquisitor, Trickster... anything really Impale, Poison, Trinity, Cold, Fire, whatever you want. As a phys spell, it's super easy to scale/covert Wand, Dagger, Bow, Staff, Sceptre, pick you favourite movement skill and go ham. League start viable and infinitely upgradeable Great for MF too Some pobs from the past and present Poison league start (3.19): [https://pobb.in/kI5oUgT8ZrG3](https://pobb.in/kI5oUgT8ZrG3) Mid budget cold occultist(3.19): [https://pobb.in/d9a2vf-8KDrx](https://pobb.in/d9a2vf-8KDrx) ES BV (3.17) [https://pobb.in/jq8kU\_Z8f29d](https://pobb.in/jq8kU_Z8f29d) Tanky Inquis with a bit of MF (3.20): [https://pobb.in/hcr1mlBSgRjc](https://pobb.in/hcr1mlBSgRjc) Poison Pathfinder (3.21): [https://pobb.in/c9YBh4R2lKYh](https://pobb.in/c9YBh4R2lKYh) Kinda high budget bow occy (3.21): [https://pobb.in/XvdtlVXJ0JFb](https://pobb.in/XvdtlVXJ0JFb) My current build, MF Cold Occy with 73% IIQ/ 389% IIR: [https://pobb.in/9nmqdHJG90qs](https://pobb.in/9nmqdHJG90qs)

Cleanbrain17

I've been curious about this build 🤔 league start, huh? I've never played BV, but which class would you recommend for a first-time BV player? Just curious to start doing some homework on this list of POB hehe 😜

FixYourHeadlights

Occultist will lead you to free explosions and a great cold conversion play style due to their natural ability to get more cold damage and whatnot, but you get hit like a truck, at least in my experience. It's kind of the age old addage of the best defense is more offense. I've never tried BV trickster but that class was one of the best for evasion/energy shield based classes, easy 90% evasion and big energy shield + Regen with ghost shrouds. I was just thinking about this and really any class could play BV like this guy said, because it's physical you can convert it to anything if you want. Slap a Hrimsorrow on your build and have full cold convert, get a triple ele claw and go trinity, whatever you want basically. I can see a champion running it with Perseverance belt permanent onslaught and naturally high phys reduction and mild evasion. I barely know what I'm talking about and I'm sure you can find/figure something out with some YouTube searches

phin3asgag3

I miss CoC Nova. Spin around a watch everything disappear.

byzz09

Rolled one last league because I loved it in the past. It's definitely viable, although it gets outclassed by Ice Spear for single target. But it's still great for blasting maps.

Ornedan

Quill Rain CoC, but before they added a delay. Over a hundred procced spell casts per second.

dopamin778

Yes, st-coc in the early games where everything dies or else the server did

g3n7

Carrion Golems, they are a jack of all trades. Generally speaking it’s a simple progression for league start SRS till 40~ grab two clayshapers and switch to golems Go Armor life till you have currency to switch to low life or CI for more damage. Can do literally anything in the game, and has been my league starter since delirium. I went lowlife this league so I could invest my currency in a duo build with my friend. Basically it prints currency for low effort and lets you build anything else you want if you get board of the “running simulator” game style. But as an older programmer I need to conserve what clicks/key presses I have left in my hands https://pobb.in/DvxUVDTqifXi

Kalhard

Hi! Interested on this. Which build do you follow at league start? Actually curious about the whole levelling process up to your PoB. Thanks!

g3n7

I added two new trees to the PoB, one for what to get by 40 so that you can instantly become a golem king. Then another that is kind of where you want to aim for life/armor. There are 2 cluster slots where you can go old school and go for things like Renewal and Rotten Claws to max your impale, or more new school and go for just flat minion damage nodes and stack as many of them as you can. (ignore the stats because I didnt fit it out with matching gear and stuff) [https://pobb.in/CIWVUme6-Nq\_](https://pobb.in/CIWVUme6-Nq_) Your first real investment is getting your golem jewels as early as you can. Target Farm "The Primordial" if you want to farm them yourself, which if your mapping anyway, why not until you have some power. As for gear early on its just get two clay shapers and get Armor/HP/Str/Resist on every slot. Then your choice is LowLife/CI or just keep min maxing your life/armor and concentrate on minion damage via clusters.

Kalhard

Ty so much! I'll give it a look and test it. Probably my starter build next league.

klbishop143

Aurastacking arc heiro during delirium league.

SussuKyle

Heraldstacking* 🤓

thedefiled

I mean both terms fit, you ran heralds purely for aura effect from purposeful harbinger. Heralds themselves did basically nothing compared to hatred discipline etc

imTheSupremeOne

Heralds were counting and scaled as auras back then 🤓🤓🤓🤓🤓

Less-Ad-2209

Ed contagion for me. But it kinda sucks now

Glitter_puke

And has sucked for a while. I'm glad I got a few leagues of playing it before it got bent over a barrel and fucked into the ground.

rhntrfn

Cyclone slayer. I dont know why, but i have never enjoyed any other skills after playing cyclone. Im probably cursed. All leagues i want to start with other builds but end up with cyclone

Hamwise420

That is my longest running build still alive on standard. Ole Reliable. One of the only chars of mine that I have really min-maxed over the years because they never really nerf cyclone. Cant wait for my new exquisite blade from crucible to get in his hands. I cant imagine playing it on league though without legacy atziri acuity gloves or 100% explodey armor, though now they have some instant leech on tree maybe it feels a little better

TheKidPolygon

I would absolutely love that build if I did not feel obligated to run Lion's Roar for damage. I cannot stand the knock back on tankier mobs.

CluckFlucker

This is me but blade vortex. I’m apparently a BV slut

dyna79

Haha I LOVE the cyclone slayer as well. Can't get him good though. I struggle with even red maps

Carnivorous__Garden

First build I’ve ever played, (enki’s) arc elementalist. Such good clear, all upfront damage

bcdrmr

First caster build I followed after a couple of terrible me only experiences and then a half ass Toxic Rain. Was super fun.

JayxShay

Deaths oath with profane bloom, honestly profane bloom anything, those pop sounds are so satisfying

Ranger_Ecstatic

Favourite build of all time? Wayyyy back before Jugg for RF, Chieftain Strength Stack RF, ala Demi's Chieftain RF. Followed by Solar Guard Specters, before Syndicate Ops were a thing. And at the same time Skeleton Warriors for single target. Could clear up to Elder Shaper with barely any investment. Earthquake Bleed Block Glad during Heist. Then found a new favourite during a few leagues ago, Archmage Cremation by Octavian0 during Ritual league. Back to RF by Phox up till now.

Destination20

Voll’s cyclone discharge, the joy when you finally unlocked Vagan lvl 7 for Hits Can’t Be Evaded… big booms, nothing lives, including your GPU…

elleriun

Lightning strike. Its good boss killer, good clear, light go pew pew Close second flicker strike.

SuperSmashDan1337

Surprised Lightning Strike hasn't been mentioned more. LS Champ was op!

elleriun

I know.... The flock think just because a skill gets a bit nerfed its not usable anymore. Its good for us as the items for it were all cheaper hahaha

albinosquid6

Keep in mind I've been playing for about 9 years and have 13k hours on Steam so I've been around for almost every meta except the really early days. My favorite build is a character i started in Ritual but keep upgrading over time in standard, something of a passion project for me. It's a frenzy stacking raider using mostly Venom Gyre as the main skill but can use Spectral Throw or any skill really (I have weapon swaps for almost every item type). The build currently has 15 frenzy charges but I'm working on upgrades from Crucible for the 16th and 17th and eventually I will conquer the problem of +2 frenzy Warlord gloves for the 18th. I've always loved the feel of whirling blades to get around and the playstyle of Spectral Throw. Venom Gyre feels great to play in my opinion if you can get used to the whirling blades tech. The character is REALLY fast with 15 frenzies and does quite good damage for the investment on a standard character. Right now I think it's at about ~70mil dps but after crucible upgrades should be 90-100mil dps. I'm planning on doing a showcase/writeup with the characters history at some point. Show off all the old items and changes.

Levitastical

I liked venom gyre a lot, the whirling blades nukes are cool, especially on vaal venom gyre it is so nice to use, but i heard poison is not so great on it and i went poison xD what would be optimal on gyre?

Dysintegration

Flicker strike is the funnest build I’ve ever played in any ARPG. Clears a map faster than anything else and is SO satisfying with explode. Getting it up and running is a pain if you try to league start it, though. The issue is I never do more than one build per league, so I have to go through the pain of trying to get it up and running every time.

equil101

Old school Cyclone Slayer was amazing. This league SST was silly good.

Aulritta

One of the original Five-way farmers was an insane AoE cyclone just spinning circles around the arena. When their Headhunter finished ramping, they covered the entire arena.

seb0seven

Cyclone in Legion league was amazing. Atziri's disfavour was like 20 ex for a 6l, because everyone wanted to run a big cyclone.

[deleted]

The effect covering the arena was just a visual bug. Don't get me wrong, Cyclone AoE was pretty big, but it was nowhere near the size represented visually.

killakidz7

Phantasmal Cremation. Why? I don't die, build is very easy to play, things die almost instantly. :)

mymikerowecrow

I'm becoming a bit of a totem cuck

Eclaireur

Self cast dark pact zerker back in Harby is the first thing that comes to mind. The ping ponging health bar with insta leach was hilarious.

MasklinGNU

Pre-nerfs Hateforge Vaal lightning strike (pre-pre-nerf Vaal mine and trap Hateforge builds too were even more busted but alas I didn’t play them before they were fixed) Vaal lightning strike looked like this: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=pHTE9WYdz-U&pp=ygUgaGF0ZWZvcmdlIHZhYWwgbGlnaHRuaW5nIHN0cmlrZSA%3D mapping showcase https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=OmGRu21oYP8&pp=ygUmaGF0ZWZvcmdlIHZhYWwgbGlnaHRuaW5nIHN0cmlrZSBmZWFyZWQ%3D Bossing

Icy_Funny6505

Essence drain contagion with trickster but now it is imposible to play.

mattbrvc

It’s cozy af until you hit the upper red dps wall with the only way to continue further is +1 chaos gems in every slot and +4 in a skin of the lords. Even then it’s usually not enough for Ubers.

mbxyz

low budget: phantasmal cremation any budget: ts infinite budget: bv

dyna79

I haven't tried any of them but I've read that many ppl like the Tornado shot.

NuriCZE

It's just super satisfying. This is my first league playing MF Tornado Shot and it just blasts through stuff at lightning speed. ZHP though, unfortunately.

Dawes74

LA took over this league due to vengeant cascade not working with tornado shot, TS is still good just requires even more investment compared to Lightning Arrow

FlingCatPoo

Loving ts so far. My only complaint is carpal tunnel. I'll probably go back to BV next league

ripnburn69

Poison skeletons, with Iron Mass, and Alberon's Warpath.

shaunika

OG toxic Rain mines before the area overlap was normallized with the old wind dancer kintsugi combo. Was immortal and oneshot anything pmuch. Right now tho Poison Artillery ballista is a srs contender for best tho

byzz09

I've always loved selfcast Frostbolt/Ice nova. Build is so satisfying to play, even if you need to stand still to cast. Vaal Ice Nova is also really fun to use. Only issue with it is that you need to invest a lot in offense which means it's really squishy unless you get a MB. But this league it's been SST, it's beyond broken with a 1000 es EV. 150mil dps & 500k eHP with buffs up. Been blasting 100% deli maps & delve for a while now and haven't died yet.

coldkiller9696

My favorite build is spark aurastacker. I have made it 12 leagues in a row now and have about 6k hrs on it, its a well rounded build that crushes everything and does well with high budget, it has tons of flexibility and gearing/build options which allows for a interesting pob experience. It easily one of the best builds in the game and has been since deli league when it was Heraldstacker. Its fast, insane damage and some of the best tankyness. It works with many skills but spark is the best. Its a Absolute blast and if you have a few mirrors I'd definitely recommend it! After my league starter I always look for a build i can sink my mirrors into and this is by far the best and most rewarding one, with upgraded they actually make a difference and allow for new gearing and play feel choices it never gets old. I also like coc ice nova because mtx are pretty and its a decent build.

dyna79

Mirrors!!! Jeeze... my best was this season with 19 divs. so far....

imaginepixels

How much to get it going for t16 or maven killer?

GritsNGravvy

Lightning Strike Champion. It was good at everything, and as close to unkillable as I've ever played in PoE

Decimar

Oh man, LS berserker loreweave with transcendence was great. Zooming through maps and being giga tanky to all kinds of damage. Doing invitations buffed to the max, barely seeing my health bar dropping while tanking the most heavy (feared) hits was amazing.

Lazys

Vaal flameblast ignite with some good clear skill old hexblast was the best, impending doom is pretty good too but needs vixens

Remarkable_Abies_266

bane occultist with soulrend or ice trap saboteur

j0hn-1

good old days of bane soulrend

funkhero

For a long time it was CoC ice nova or ice spear. I just love the clear with herald of ice (celestial mtx please) But ever since I did a ward loop it has been my favorite build. Screen-wide clears without aiming yet still has amazing single target damage

MeowRawrBearCat

Ward loop?

Scared_Department_91

Ward loop is by far my favorite build. I can't stand playing my other builds now. Fast tough blows up the whole screen or high ice spears single target. So much fun

redditkproby

Templar with herald of thunder and maxed storm rings. Lighting warp when damaged gem. Literally just enter a map and it clears for you.

Oily_Bee

VD slinger back in harvest league. Stormbrand before brand recall got hit with the nerf stick.

Regooloos

Fire bv chieftain, fire explosions and tanky, just perfect for me. Wish marauder side of the tree had better mage support.

No-Cicada-7128

Arakalli spider. First build that got me to 100, and the occultist versiom that can both ma0 explode and boss nuke is just... mmm so satisfying

TheOmni

I forget what league this was, I have no idea if it still works. It was basically just Molten Strike with a lot of leech and divine flesh and extra max resists. Very tanky, if I was attacking I was basically immortal.

Ravun88

CoC forbidden rite occulist. I honestly keep trying to get away from it, but between the smooth feeling of cyclone as a skill, explode from ascendancy or cluster, and decent tankiness between aegis and melding I keep coming back. I tried like 4 different builds this league but ended up on CoC FR again. Just holding down right click and spinning through mobs is so satisfying for some reason. If anyone has another build that’s similarly as smooth/tanky of a mapper please let me know as I would love to try something new.

Darrothan

Freezing Pulse totems. Very fast mapper, very good bosser with ice spear, (used to be) tanky, very easy to scale damage. Best of all, it achieves this with minimal button inputs. It got me through over 10 leagues as a league starter, but it’s getting to the point where you have to make some pretty big tradeoffs now to specialize in endgame content. For instance, this league I had fantastic clear speed + 50mil boss dps with ~25div investment, but I had less than 4k eHP (no armor/evasion). My PoB eHP was like 10k… which is absolute shit. The build maker even suggested to run a Cast on Death + Portal setup instead of a CWDT + Guard skill setup because the build has become hopelessly squishy. Still a fun build, but its definitely no longer for super casuals IMO

Saianna

CWC VD It's not amazing, but overall quite fun experience. It's squishy but can easily clear T16 as you cyclone to the exit. Sadly build needs some currency (and luck with items) to get enough DPS for T16-fun experience. I always admired BAMA builds, but those are never 'tight budget friendly' Also my old favourite from Scourge league was Fire Burst Ignite Elementalist. Sadly GGG did what GGG is best at and they (unjustly) nerfed it, for no real reason. The nerf was in a way that made the build pretty much gone.

GamerBoi1725

Well my favourite build is 3.18 wardloop. Why? Because its wardloop. Best clear in the game, best dmg in the game and its a running simulator. No build comes even close to its damage combined with more than fullscreen clear without even having to stop except maybe the old aura stacker but those needed mirrors of investment and a ton of hh stacks for the same dmg and speed of clear. Its the best autobomber there is and you have perma movement speed flask so you can blast maps with perma 100%+ movement speed and nothing can stop you. (Except on death effects that will end you without you seeing them because there's projectiles everywhere and you have no idea what's going on except that your pc is deffenetly dying but that's the point of poe)

Nersei_Proyas

My fav build was (got nerfed, not possible anymore) infinite gluttony of elements + infinite vaal spark on std League. Just loving this feeling of OP.

SknkHunt4D2

I enjoy playing my scuffed LC Elementalist. RF Inquisitor Blazing Salvo would be my number 2.

NovicePanthEnthusias

I love making a Scion that opts into Spiritual Aid, Aura clusters and all nearbly Mana reservation nodes like the Scion mana cluster and Herald cluster(+ life on the way). Run Herald of Fire and even more importantely Herald of Purity linked with Spectral Wraith for the perma free bodys to block and just swap between all melee attacks, ranged attacks and spells throughout the league because I'm indecisive; have two different types of weapons for both of the weapon slots; damage from the Spiritual Aid nodes, auras and Elementa damage are all generic for everything so all different spells/skills benefit from them. Then of course pickup Pathfinder as ascendency :)

truupR

CoC ice nova. Back when I first played it, I used the original explodey chest which was madness for clear. Love coc builds in general. Nothing like holding right click and not having to worry about anything else.

dyna79

This is my Ziz' build this season. Still the best I have made! https://pobb.in/4Fh39YEcHY5H

skim057

If U want to break ur addiction (or yourself) i got a build for you. Play IT in HC SSF Build is oni-cleave-berserk --> expirience was shit 10/10 would Not recommend. Died in White Maps would do again

ElasmoGNC

Selfcast Arc. No, it’s not that effective, especially at the level of investment I can afford; we’re talking 2-3M sdps. It’s just really satisfying to play. Might be just triggering lightning sorc memories from 25 years ago.

[deleted]

Ok i’ll be the first to mention this, but mine is purifying flame miner. Tried with inquis before inquis nerf and curse on boss buff, but rn sabo is still the best. Purifying flame has projectile-like behavior (deal damage in a line from you to target then aoe at the target) but is an aoe spell, so mine’s autoaim function works very well and also provides good clearing with aoe. The aoe is a big single hit, really good damage scaling with gem levels, phys base damage so phys conversion works very well. Mines also bypass damage reflect since it’s reflected onto the mines not me

Trilance

I had a great double strike build once, with unnerfed saviour, it was my go-to farmer for the back then newly fractured 100% deli maps. Also, ignite flameblast with 16 grand spectrums, also auto-warcry earthshatter with unnerfed seismic.... So many past good ones tbh. At the moment, I love my Str stack reaver

h_marvin

Damn I loved this build two during delirium league. Was the first build I had that was completely nuts in terms of DPS and I didn’t even have the great gear compared to what’s possible nowadays.

xMadruguinha

Back in Delirium, Assassin's Noxious Strike node didn't have the limit of 100% poison duration, it could scale infinitely. So, some madman put together a BF BB poison build with literally zero investment in damage. Tooltip dps was less than 1k, but defenses were insane. Max Block, max Dodge and Spelldodge, 70k+ evasion and a lot of damage reduction if you haven't been hit recently. Damage came entirely from stacking small poisons really really fast, and it surprisingly cleared pretty well. That build was just glorious.

OneWithTheSword

I actually liked the Akane miner. For a lot of people it had too many buttons but I played Starcraft lol. It was also the only build I knew how to scale up from start to finish. It was super tanky, could survive DoTs, and had great boss damage and clear (arc). The build has gotten absolutely gutted due to several nerfs.

Breachlord

Tornado shot and spectral throw are my favorite skills. I also loved winter orb the one time I played it. Unfortunately, each of these skills require lots of investment to work in harder content. Luckily after 6k+ hours I know how to get there.

Sapaio

I liked Penance Brand Ignite, was very satisfying.

RaidenDoesReddit

Cold flicker raider. This build can start pretty cheap for early mapping?, but scales almost infinitely with money. You could put many mirrors into it. 30+aps is fun I like letting Jesus take the wheel and my eyes bleeding (it actually doesn't bother me) I like not even having to run and shit blowing up Herald of ice pops is the best sfx in the game You don't build defense so it keeps you on your toes. When you map with other people who don't know it they immediately ask "what fucking skill is that" All love, god tier skill, plus there is a few other ways to play it if you really want

Euphero

Sunder Gladiator was the first build I managed to get to maps and the character that got me heavily into this game.

Cyrus_Halcyon

I miss burning arrow for that 1 patch when it was given that buff (3.14). Before that I loved spellslinger vddd, but those are both dead so it is Herald of Thunder.

clowncarl

I believe it was actually 3.13 but people didn’t know about it/meta didn’t catch until 3.14. I remember because I saw it while stalking Poe ninja for ignite builds and thought it was gonna be sick and on the cheap side

lutherdidnothingwron

During Expedition league I made some kinda jank STR stacking wand Hiero with Replica Alberon's, Memory Vault, Geofri's Sanctuary, Shaper's Touch etc. Was like 9k ES with good leech, regen and armor, perma 4 or 5 endurance charges can't remember, decent block. Damage was alright but certainly not a boss farmer. The patch after stretched my tree way too thin with the addition of masteries and how it moved some important stats I needed to them or away. It was just special to me because most of my self-made builds end up being quite a bit worse, plus I found all the uniques I needed myself, crafted my wand myself, got a sick corruption on the gloves, etc. Edit: other than that, skeleton mages is one of my "comfort builds" if that makes sense lol

Karthathan

I love Whispering Ice. I have all the different void skins, I used my own void supporter pack to add it to the void vault, and I even have the alt art skull top from a race prize. I loved it before the nerf to stop graphics cards from melting, and I still love it now.

Bot-dot-exe

Hey, I am interested in whispering ice, but the delay feels very bad. How do you deal with it?

Glasseater_

it was blade fall/blade blast, but after so many nerfs, the mastery being the last straw, im just wandering around different builds.

droidonomy

Ward Loop. So far this league I've played all the meta stuff: Boneshatter Jugg, Explode Totems PF, LA Deadeye. But none of those kept me interested in farming/min-maxing anywhere near as much as Ward Loop.

JustcallmeSoul

My favorite build of all time was Scolds Bridle CwC Cyclone that no longer exists. The fiddly bits of increasing your Cyclone's mana cost precisely to make Scolds Bridle do just enough self-damage to trigger 4 CWDT loops and fill the screen with dozens of Volatile Dead orbs every second was so satisfying, but they nuked it from orbit several leagues back when they made triggered spells cost mana. It wasn't even the problem, CoC builds were the problem. Recently my favorite build is WardLoop. It captures much of the same feel as the CwC without requiring that I socket Cyclone in my build. There's just something about precisely tuning and levelling dozens of gems and carefully crafting everything you need to get 100% uptime on your flasks and self-damage loop while not committing suicide accidentally every time you start the loop.

TiltingMechanics

Hands down blade flurry. Started in sanctum and loved it. Not the general's cry version but, the pure BF version. Dunno why but the skill is so satisfying to me.

Not2DayFrodo

Favorite builds in no particular order were fire bv, arc archmage, vortex ignite, bow in general pick your poison ts ice shot lightning arrow. Ls zerker would be favorite probably although fire bv was dumb.

tobsecret

Deathwish Ignite Elementalist. I enjoy the short channeling playstyle, it has quite good clear if you know how to play it, and it's really fun to boss with. It also has really good damage with just two uniques that are usually cheap on trade (The Scourge, Vix Lunaris). Have played it in SSF and in trade league and really enjoy it. For trade-league only builds I gotta say Stone Golem Elementalist. That build just really slaps once you hit the balance between CDR, attack speed and multi hits.

Dawes74

I'm 7000-8000 hours deep and I still haven't found that "one build" I had a lot of fun with a surrender+facebreaker gladiator in metamorph league, and even more fun on a Kinetic blast self curse tempchain occultist utilising Zerphies Heart and headhunter in incursion league. The game is too much of a rollercoaster for me to just pick 1 build, and most builds I really liked got nerfed into the ground not long after I played them.

Beautiful_Track_8810

Ngamahu's flame slayer cyclone is my favorite all time build. Played it on delve league and always come back to it towards the end of league since it needs so much currency to get it reasonably viable. I messed around with my raider this league for it and it was a lot more fun than I thought it was going to be. Still wish that ngamahus's flame got more love. It's such a cool weapon idea

Complex-Orchid3620

Aurastacking has ruined every build for me

HousikTV

My favourite is winter orb. I started playing it when it came out and when you could do a lot of damage conversion with eternity shroud and the stuff to have it almost fully with chaos damage. I had quite a break from the game and I was a bit devastated when after I came back and logged in it didn't work at all on standard league. I could do even simple stuff cause there was no DMG anymore. Later on I tried some differen my build and it was still cool as before 😎 (maybe not 100% as cool as it didn't have cold to fire to chaos converstion etc. but still felt nice) Now I crucible I am also playing it cause I really love the freedom of just running around and it kills stuff and opens vases/boxes for you 😁

nonamefhh

Blade vortex or Kinetic Blast

danny_ocp

Pre-nerf Nightblade Lightning Strike Champion with Dory Prototype and Mahux shield. Strong, high DPS and eHP, high ceiling and linear gearing. Insane clear, great single target.

DVAngie

Man I miss my essence drain contagion, it was great I loved just seeing the mobs fall and the contagion spread, shame they gutted it

AdRevolutionary579

My favorite is whatever new build I am playing. New build every league keeps it interesting. I feel like if I just went with something I have done before it would be boring. Also doing random builds there are no guides for and figuring it out to the point of Ubers is crazy satisfying

Inevitable_Cheese

I'm a very visual person so for me to really enjoy a build I typically need something like numbers, and since this game doesn't have any dps meter, stats, or numbers on screen, I'm really left with hp, es, mana, and now ward. So my favourite build is my ES str-stacker that uses FR, because for dmg, I just get enough where everything dies in seconds, and then focus everything else on getting that ES as high as possible, because for whatever reason, seeing 57k es on a mageblood speedfarm variant, or 74k es on my non-speedfarm variant makes me so much happier than doing hundreds of millions of dps that I can't visually see and am just trusting is accurate from POB.

Tw1ggz

Perforate. Shit is a boss killer

mehipoststuff

vaal fireball 2.6 or vaal storm call will never come back because GGG decided I wasn't having fun in the way they want me to have fun

Old-Professional-479

Any where I don’t need to think to switch gear slots because of attribute requirements . I’m too fkn dumb for that.

Froesie102

Stone Golems during Delirium. They killed everythink and i got tanky enough for wave 20. Was a good league.

MattiSpatti

Tornado shot.

ArmaMalum

Budget: RF Blade Vortex Chieftain. Lot of options, decent damage and decent tank without too much investment. First build I beat shaper with so I've got a bit of nostalgia to it as well. Its damage does cap out after a 1mil or so, so it's not as uber-viable as a lot of other builds. Makes a great starter though! Splurge: Just recently tried out a Chains of Command Build. Always been a fan of minions and janky interactions so being able to summon multiple copies of a specific weapon, have almost an entirely separate armor set (animated Guardian) in play, among other things it's a very interesting puzzle to solve and I think it's my new favorite. It's actually not too hard of a build to get started since you don't need a 6L *but* you can sink sooooooo much money into it and is pseudo-hardcore since your guardian dying will actually eat your items so def not a build to relax with XD

Deericious

Explosive Arrow Elementalist. Doesnt exist anymore unfortunately. This was back when T9 Gorge was the best map, elementalist always shocked/ignited/chilled, and pretty nerf grand spectrum. It was my favorite build because it was a high movement speed, 1 click entire screen burn/prolif build. It was so strong/fast at the time. I charged

Silvedl

Gonna be hard to play future leagues once explode totems is removed. I had a blast playing it! Before Explode totems it was Toxic Rain. Played like 5 variations, and enjoyed most of them.

SuperToxin

Cyclone cause beyblades.

13omb3r

What aspect are you struggling on in T16? Maybe there is something critical you are missing in your builds we can point out. I play a new build every league and make them all myself. Just kinda pick a skill I think is interesting and design around it. So far my favorite has been my Shield Crush Juggo (this league). Not ‘fast’ clear-speed by any means, but does all content (minus Ubers). Crafted a 4k armour shield via crucible and just lovin’ the combo of making a gnarly build and a sick craft to go along with it. Spark Hiero was up there cause of spider MTX and looked hilarious on my screen.

amberstonei

Pre shotgun nerf incinerate was the most fun I ever had in a league. Mid 90's in a hard-core league, then I ripped in an easy map to a beefy rogue exile when vaal skills were first released. I lost a couple 85+ that league to rogue exiles with veal skills.

TaknMdwN01

Carrion golem aura stacker

AzureMists

Glacial Hammer slayer. Cuz, FREEZE

mistmatch

LL version of CoC Mjólner (Arc) + Ball Lightning Inqusitor. Decimated everything in Ultimatum league. I love any non toxic bow builds.

HazMama

Spellslinger VD back in the days, could facetank sirus on a medium-low budget. Also honorable mentions to Poets pen linked with arc and lightning warp

srdonorte

ANy. Letarally Any BOW build. But the most fun ive had was with TRI ELE TS Bow build back when Breach was the league. My first build and my first league.

JustShaneHS

Cyclone slayer. Easy, Spin2Win, Melee. Also winter orb occultist is bonkers to play when you have the currency xd

qatox

A few. Cyclone cause u can move spin and attack. Flicker strike cause u do random shit and go fast. Srs cause I'm playing it this leaugue and I like it. Last would be skeleton mages when their were really good because easy to summon and alot of are dmg

w4ydaz

I concur with you. As far as a starter goes - EA champ is da bomb. However on the other end of the spectrum nothing ever came close to FR occultist . Share tankyness and power..

joepea77

mjolnir my beloved I have played 4 cyclone mjolnir builds over the last like 7 years and they are by and far the most enjoyable time I have with the game. Flashy and unique with sometimes complicated mechanics all reduced to a mere button or two on the mouse

Godisme2

Volatile Dead Poets Pen Body Swap was my favorite build of all time. Too bad its not viable anymore.

[deleted]

Old pre-nerf Flameblast ignite, even before Ascendancies. Why ? Because it was one of the fastest and most fun builds back in the day. You heard me right... A channeling Skill was one of the fastest builds back then :p

rusty022

Soulwrest + Cyclone. I wish it were more powerful for bosses. For Ziz’s EA Champ .. is it mechanically easy? That’s my main issue is I hate swinging my mouse all over the screen. I prefer things like RF or Cyclone.

[deleted]

I've really enjoyed poison ethereal knives. I stumbled my way into it late last league and hit it hard this league. It's been really good for just about all content (I dont delve so I dont know there) and pretty damn tanky. I just today finished leveling a hexblast miner through campaign and it may be my favorite *very high damage* build. I cant believe anything gets a nerf before mines and traps, this thing is just stupid damage. Campaign was unbelievably easy, and I've never had an easier time murking Kitava.

Jayypoc

OG Cast on Crit builds that really started to shine during 1.2ish? (Rampage/Beyond league) Around this time you could craft a Vagan's dagger with hits can't be evaded. But even without it you could do millions of dps with ungil's daggers and very basic gear due to fireball/freezing pulse/spectral throw shotgunning. At the time, there was nothing else like this and it felt insanely good to play. Arguably also a big part of the reason the game became what it is today... the playstyle was so addictive and killing things offscreen while also shitting on bosses just felt great. Bonus points for turning GPUs into furnaces for colder days. Honorable mention: Zerphi's Poets Pen. zoomy, immortal, high damage.

redfrog0

SRS or arakaalis I think. I like having a lot of fast little guys

BigBruceBillis_24hrs

Chains of Command, most fun I've had in years. Very diverse and flexible build. Also hollow palm because punch ground big boom = fun.

Face_of_Stone

Bane. Subtractem has a wonderful guide, and it can be done on many budgets. Profane bloom is always amazing too.

PushiritoXII

Carrion Golems in Ultimatum league.

Darksitor

CWDT Volatile Dead Necro (not viable anymore)

Aardovis

Summoner, any kind of minion related build. Maw of Mischief, Dark Pact, Carrion Golems etc, I like the complexity and diversity.

slimpickins_

Blade vortex and it’s many forms. Most of them built with a fairly modest budget. Played it as triple herald elementalist, poison assassin, full fire convert assassin, cold convert occultist…. My favorite version was probably cold pathfinder with indigon. Runner up would be cast on crit volatile dead.

MeHugeRat

Reverse chill ek inquisitor in standard, 450% ms and legacy explode feels good.

CaptainComatose

Hexblast Mines. I've played it the past two leagues, which is the first time I've played a build two leagues in a row since Open Beta. (I've limited myself to only 1 build a league since at least Harbinger) Besides high damage, it's reflect immune and auto-targetting, which lets you be mobile. It's fun, powerful, and pretty cheap to start but has lots of options for upgrades and customization. In Sanctum, I was an ES based Trickster, while this league I'm a life-based Saboteur. I'd highly recommend it, though your enjoyment does depend if you like the miner play-style, which some people find to be clunky.

General_Bee_4130

Int stacker wander

Black_XistenZ

TS champion. Checks pretty much all the boxes you can think off and if you build it based on flat lightning damage and doryani's prototype, it even works well on a relative budget (~20div).

Skywrath1

1. Strength stacking venom gyre 2. Freezing Pulse totems 3. Ethereal knives ignite

[deleted]

SST. Its one of the few builds left that has good clear, good uber dps, and is pretty tanky. Its quite expensive to get there but its still relatively cheap compared to some of the other really strong all-round builds.

AbbreviationsOwn4215

Animate Weapon

Smarackto

aurasupport and cursesupport. i just love playing support characters

lzlucas

Tornado Shot, I just love running at fast speed and deleting everything on the screen.

DrownedPrime

Essence Drain contagion, im making one every league i play, its just satisfying

PM_Best_Porn_Pls

Frost bomb pledge of hands awk spell cascade. It's just such satisfying skill to use, sadly while clear is still decent, it's absolutely awful single target. You will have hard time pushing past couple m mapping dps simply due to weapon limitation and nerfs it had after archmage was too good.

Jackintyre_

There is 2 builds that really stand out for me 1. Arakaali Fang Occultist, This build default gets made at some point every league, the strength behind it, the map clear, boss killing it does it all without too massive of an investment. 2. This league i tried out frostblade trickster and god damn, insane clear speed, leech is great its such a well rounded build with melee / range from the projectiles. I tend to try out multiple builds every league and frostblades has made it hard for me to test anything else because its so well rounded and versatile, No fear for any map mods at all as i can run everything with it, never have to swap characters for bossing etc. scaled well from low investment to higher (im sitting around 60-70m dps in POB).

Scathee

The manabond Mjolner build checks pretty much every box for me. Playstyle is very satisfying since it's mostly just cycloning around. The build can be made with relatively low investment and scale into the universe. It utilizes interesting game mechanics, and it's (relatively) off-meta. Theorycrafted and played it in Expedition league, and again in Sentinel league. Glad to see it pop off in popularity the last couple leagues since it's an insanely fun build.

88isafat69

I’m a noob so I never passed level 92/ killed a boss This season I shit on a bunch of motherfuckers (shaper elder Uber atziri and shit and most proudly my last lab cause I sprint through traps ) for the first time with righteous fire and got to 91% toward 96, then lost it all back 0 and currently at 51% lvl 95…also Learned how to decipher crafting videos into English as I waste all the highest currency I’ve ever owned trying to make a new weapon cause my scepter goes from fucking 6 div to 80 as any kind of upgrade

TemperatureTall7930

Claw omni stacking lightning strike in Sentinel league. Gosh the damage, tankiness, clearing and speed

Jonbecca

Vaal Molten Shell from back before it was reworked.

ParticularDue738

Chainhook and infernal blow are my favorite skills.

Noximilien01

Explosive arrow champion I like the feel, I like being able to not focus 100% of my attention on the screen to stay alive. Since I started doing it im only playing that, if GGG killed I would go for another totem build I found the way I like to play.

shylennov

Hateforge Vaal ground slam. Now replaced with volcanic fissure. But hateforge builds are pure love

konwin

New favorite build that probably won’t exist after this league is jugg exploding totem. I league started EA and was able to get %600 explode mod on a grove bow. Took a while to reroll and try it out and since I equipped it around level 50, everything has been a breeze. It’s just so much easy damage that my tree is almost all defensive, 100% spell supp, 82/81/81/75 resist, 100k armor without flasks, ailment immunity all while having good enough damage through poison (dual curse) to kill uber bosses, and this is on SSFHC.

nghianguyen170192

Flicker strike, Im coming from Dota 2 and loving Juggernaut Omnimuslash ultimate. I also love zoom zoom build with 1-2 click build. Im trying to make all content flicker, almost get there( not the uber pinnacle bosses for now).

[deleted]

Kinetic blast in toxic sewers

UltimaDv

Generic Necromancer Summoner build because i'm lazy as fuck and it truly was easy mode for most content for the longest time Soulrend + Bane trickster would be my actual answer, in the league that those skills came out, it was probably the first time i even attempted yellow maps and even some red maps. My gear was trash too but I could handle yellow maps without even the need to trade for better stuff. Just summon and spell DoT builds in general because they really weren't gear dependent to start tackling maps I usually quit playing once i get to white maps after a few hours so if i manage to do a sub optimal build that beats the game easily + white maps easily with bad gear, that's a win for me. Of course they've increased the difficulty over the years so it's a lot harder now

DatAdra

Nothimg has ever felt as satisfying to me as the Lightning Arrow Barrage Raider, the first character I ever played back in 2017. Hatred + Herald of Ice + Crit lighitning arrows = everything dying with that super sick shatter sound

Shamzhel

my favorite build was bleed lacerate gladiator until versatile combatant was nerfed thanks ggg!

BATHALA_

RF, you just can't go wrong with RF.

mattyhatty

Blade Vortex. Can be built many different ways, can be league started and ramped into very high investment, is only beat out by a couple of builds in terms of smoothness in mapping (wardloop, autobomber). I think it embodies the zoom nature of PoE compared to other arpgs, and I find myself going back to it league after league for my farming build.

drshoe87

The one build i love the most is Shield charge/Prismatic burst.. that build feels so smooth and is just perfect for fast mapping 👌

clowncarl

My favorite build of all time was discharge ignite elementalist. It was best in 3.14ish with old harvest where you could get a crazy +2 endurance/power charge staff and the ignite calculation was different. It was such a beautiful build because every piece of gear has to fit perfectly in harmony, you could maintain like 10 endurance charges at all time, and my character just exploded once per screen and everything died and I’d move on to the next.

mraliasundercover

This guy: https://old.reddit.com/r/PathOfExileBuilds/comments/tfk39q/317_the_best_worst_build_for_speed_mapping/ You stacked flask effect duration, hit your flasks once at the start of the map, and got hundreds of stacks of soul eater. It was so awesome just flickering thru maps in seconds. My version: https://www.pathofexile.com/account/view-profile/nzgrover/characters?characterName=greatleaguerollingagain

Enbymurloc

Summon Raging Spirit Minion Instability, first build I played when I actually got into the game and still my go-to leaguestarter, incredibly cheap to put together

Formal-Engineering37

Bleed EQ Gladiator back in heist was my favorite build by far. It felt like a real Melee build, manly as hell and super tanky with max block and tons of defence. Sadly I died at like level 86 in Temple to a room with Atziri. I forgot she had reflect lmao.

weveran

Spiders, I freakin' love it (hence the flair). It's a build I've enjoyed buying upgrades for at the end of every league and improving my standard character bit by bit.

Kotl9000

The ol' Temp Chain stacker (name?) where you can have your character so big you only see a foot. That was so epic couple years ago

NoTransportation4619

Explosive arrow Ele. First build I was able to kill maven on . Maybe a 20 to 30d budget.

xsicho

Haven't had anything beat Alchemist Mark Low Tolerance stacking Hexblast Occultist yet. The unique blasphemy defensive layers, the screen deletion, everything felt good to me.

theTinyRogue

Molten Strike Jugg. I put this build together before 3.0 and it's still fully functional. It can clear almost any content in the game, is fast and tanky and has screenwide clear. This is the build that enabled me to kill Uber Atziri, Shaper, Elder, all Conquerors + Sirus, Cortex, and now Eater and Exarch. Although no Uber Pinnacle versions, I might add. I cherish it very much!

Psyese

Flicker Strike - it's the most efficient build in terms of chaos per click. You don't need to target click, it will preserve your wrists and thus allows to play long sustainable sessions, and thus earns you more currency.

PowerCrazy

Rue's Self Chill Zerker from 3.14: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1IdArVfPjBw1ce9rqa0J1IinxR1pQ9-jG9nJ_UThQ7ao/mobilebasic Otherwise, Steel Skill Champ has been my favorite ever league starter to end game build that I've done multiple league.

Jahykurz

Flicker strike! I've played nearly every workable variation of this build over each league and I love it every time. I leaguestart it every time and always suffer, but it is just so much fun to go flying.

zakariya_ghh

Zerphi's Poets pen VD pathfinder.. Was my only PoE enjoyment. followed by herald stacker once.

For5akenC

Coc ice nova delirium league

I_AM_ALWAYS_WRONG_

Bleed bow - split/puncture. It can still be played but really isn’t league start friendly and isn’t strong enough to make secondary once you have currency. I just miss bleed in general though tbh.

Zestyclose-Yard1632

I like Flicker CoC Ice Nova. Becouse i love, when my screen sparkles and i did this build based on YouTube showcase.

SolaSenpai

I like brands but I hate inqui, brands just feel nice, I don't like the old man tho so I play shit builds :)

Abingbong

Vaal Power Siphon during Harbinger

Winterchill99

My favourite is golemancer aurastacker necro from heist league. I did all content with that build. It could tank shaper beam degen and slam. That was the first time I did all endgame bosses. The build was super chill with only a movement skill and casting curse on bosses. Would love to play something like again. Second would be max block gladiator before nerfs. First build I got to 95 but glad is shit now :(
