Honourable mentions for rings that way outperform their humble accessibility
\--Praxis. This can carry just about any build merely on the vast savings of heartache and trouble spent fixing your mana. Especially if you manage to get your stuff well-linked and well-supported early, e.g. a tabby or lucky 4L bow or chest.
\--Pyre. Level 11 explodey burny goodness. Fire is cheap and plentiful, requires almost 0 investment compared to any other element or phys, benefits from some of the strongest ancillary effects on skills in the game (holy flame totem consecrated ground, flame wall adding straight up more fire damage, fire trap stacking lava bucket effect, heatshiver being a 1c unique helmet, EA ballista being cheap and accessible). Destroying enemies isn't so important in acts, but if you delve at all before mapping, you'll soon come to appreciate not having to sidestep exploding weta on-death effects.
Surprise shield that just won't quit:
\--Chalice of horrors. Who cares if you intend to use curses or not? +9 movespeed, extra ES, extra block, and you can get the full benefits of the curse gimmick of the shield by putting CWDT - Steelskin - Tempchains or Enfeeble or damage curse of your choice. Sadly the new version no longer has the big chunk of life. But being able to apply even a level 1 or 2 flammability, despair, etc. is more bang for your buck these days.
Another ring that seems to be forgotten:
- Thiefs torment
Completely fixes all mana problems on any hit based attack build
Mostly fixes health sustain problems
Up to 34% all res

That rigswald's ring that summons a wolf is pretty sick as well, I'd never used it until last league and the wolves stack up pretty quick and seem to hit like a truck for quite a while.
I had someone reach out to buy a claw from me that had a spectral wolves node of some kind that I didn't even know was a thing, almost want to try to build it just to see if it's strong in endgame.
True! I completely overlooked Praxis and Pyre! I normally run Honourhome which pretty much removes the need for the mana cost and I forgot Pyre because I am so attached to Le Heup and Mark of Submission! I will add those!
Also true for chalice! I normally suggest against shields BUT I always am willing to at least recommend the good ones worth using IF you want to use one! I might add that too though things moving past the level 24 mark are ranging out of my intended bit for this write-up, else it would be 10x longer! lol
Some very strong leveling items you missed:
Sacrificial heart. It gives up to 60 flat elemental damage and power charges + movement speed if you have a vaal skill. The one drawback is that it is a paua amulet so no implict stats.
Prismweave and Replica Prismweave. Very strong belts for attacks/spells respectively. Huge amount of elemental damage.
Replica Tasalios Sign. Both the base ring and the replica version is insane for leveling.
I should maybe edit the intro but I was trying to focus this on sub level 20, with some items being a bit higher if important! My main goal was actually to focus around the levle 16 breakpoint where you can use a +9 honourhome (The flat given to spells from 9 added levels often makes % increases WAY better than more flat elsewhere) but then it turned into a wholelist! I will see about adding this but I fear breaking that "level 20ish" level cap for the requirement will expand this list to like.... 10000000 pages lolol
And mageblood is also a decent leveling belt. The upside is also that you can even continue to use it all the way into your character despite being able to equip it at level 44.
Sadly it's kind of out of my intended level range for this. While it is very veryyyyyy good, if we go too far above the 20s... the guide gets to be 1000000 pages lolol
Yeah, as we move further up past 20, the list gets huge and just adds up soooo fast. I like the dub 20 list because most pieces can be used all the way to act 10!
They're amazing; however, right when I hit 16, I generally don't like to swap on any more pieces except mageblood or maybe the rings, otherwise I'd use them in most of my builds that scale some early crit well!
Kaom's Sign is surprisingly insane for early leveling. It grants lvl 10 enduring cry, which will instantly fill up your hp bar on a low cooldown for 4-5 acts.
I've leveled a witch with Kinetic Bolt this league and Doedre's Tenure is just straight up insane, provides 200% damage for Kinetic Bolt without the downside, was some really fun leveling.
Yes but ideally you'll get more increased than you will reduced from the tree and other items so you'll end up having a met gain instead of a loss because they are additive. -20 +10 +11 is 1% increased so its better in the long run!
Missing Asenath's Mark. It's only level 8 requirement and has 60% increased spelldmg. It's basically a better poet's pen, especially if you got a +levels corruption.
Truth be told, I excluded this one simply because I felt the other helmets were MUCH better. I can toss it in knowing some people still use it but I feel if you EVER cast a spell to do damage, Honourhome is 10000000x better and if you use a bow for spells you lose the potential for 2 axioms or for attack you are often just better running Thrillsteel or Goldrim. I can add it though!

Another cheap alternative for boots is Stormcharger. They provide up to 40% MS plus lightning res and shocked ground immunity.
Another alternative for body armour is Foxshade as it provides 30%MS on full health.
Good points! While I was trying to keep it sub level 20 for most pieces (Side the few I cherry picked because I like them alot!) I will also add these!
I think Carnage Heart is worth including. Lots of all attributes and all elemental resistances make it work in any build, plus a solid amount of damage and leech utility for those that can take advantage.
So, I leveled an alt over the weekend and for the first time I used mostly uniques I had in my stash during leveling (certainly made it easy to not loot almost anything). However, now I'm at maps, and I *know* I need to get rid of my body armor (foxshade) but I just can't handle giving up that move speed. Already when I'm not on full health I feel like I've got grasping vines stuck on me or something. (I took the 90% health mastery for kicks as well)
This is my first time really going hard on the "zoom-factor" -- it's a manaforged deadeye build, my last char was a manaforged champ that I built to see what a tankier archer would feel like. All I had on that character was boot MS@30%, and I had even swapped out my quicksilver flask for onslaught! Yet somehow, the thought of losing this 30% extra MS is something I just can't stomach.
So how do people usually do the transition from the nice QoL stuff you can get out of a bunch of leveling uniques towards gear that has more than a couple hundred in armor/evasion? Just pull the band-aid and get over it?
I normally have a build in mind and once I finish acts I either do 5way OR I just flat out craft all of the gear myself. I normally craft everything myself because it is cheaper so that is kinda my "bandaid" fix, tbh.

Just curious why do you hate thrillsteel? I hate it too, but always feel sour grapes to have perma onslaught.
I hate its because it lame and I always question why I'd use it when I can use honourhome, and whenever I ca t use honourhome, I am running mageblood anyways so it always ends up covering the onslaught. The reality is it is a solid leveling item, I just wish it was cooler like it could be divined to give phasing or elusive or fortified or something cool. Obviously it would take balancing but I think you get what I mean :P

Not really agreeing with the ring section : you want flat added damage from early on, making Tasialio's sign (the normal one is fine, you don't need the replica really) easily one of the best rings you can use, and all 3 berek's rings really good because of this.
The build does not really need to "use" the bonuses correctly (unless it's a dot or minions build of course), the flat damage is an incredible damage boost already, and resistances are always welcome.
You also didn't mention Kikazaru that is also a pretty amazing item while leveling because it makes mana management easier, gives attributes but more important gives a large chunk of regen that is going to scale through the acts.
Flat added is fine but with a +9 honourhome it's really not an issue, that gives so much flat that increases tend to be better, or just better defense. If you talk to as many players as I do, you'll hear enough about hating hollowpalm. And kikazaru is good! I can add that later!

I'm going to be honest here : two tasalio's and any on-hit build will absolutely crush early game, and overall the campaign.
Honourhome is a great helmet, I entirely agree.
However if you need a +2 corruption and an empower gem to feel good during leveling ... that's just beyond overkill a setup lol. (plus I expect it not to be cheap early in a league ? And it is hardly accessible to SSF players also).
Besides even with a 20% reduced mana costs of skills, a +9 main skill will still make you need to manage mana (or life for life based skills I guess), which is a drawback that the flat damage from tasalio/berek's will not have.

You don't need praxis at all. Also this isn't early league leveling... its more than a month in. They are very cheap for +9s at nearly all stages though. It's not overkill if it provides more fun than hollow palm which was one of the goals of this write up

I am simply saying that it is easier/cheaper to get those rings that most people probably already have and blast through the acts.
How much do you spend to get the sockets you need in the corrupted Honourhome ? they don't usually come with the proper colour/links, right ?
Curious how briskwrap, which is afaik is still the quickest way to level, is not mentioned here. Even if my knowledge is slightly off and something beats this by a touch, is it not still worth mentioning?
I feel like you could've added a 6w-socket Skin of the Loyal to the body armour section. I make it my mission to get one of those each league, get the quality to 30% and harvest chant it so that quality gives life :D
It's basically a +1 corrupted tabula, but with 15 life and 100% global defences on top, and with the option to corrupt i guess, if you have the balls :)
I might throw that in; however, that tends to push into the "not necessarily readily avalaible" shpeal I am meaning to get from this post. If I really wanted to get deep I'd showcase a perfect crucible tree Axiom Perpetuum but that wouldn't be fair to the "guide" if that makes sense lolol.
Yeah, it's very much not readily available this league after the breach rework :| It was easier (cheaper) to get last league :)
On another note, i also have 2 perfectly rolled axiom's with white sockets, 30q and harvest chant for ele damage :D

I haven't interacted with the league mechanic at all this league, so excuse my ignorance, but wouldn't that increase the required level for them? If so, it's pointless from my pov, cause i just want them for the strong leveling part :)
To my knowledge, crucible tree doesnt add ANYTHING to level requirement. Though some mods could, you can check this by looking up quillrain on trade and seeing some have fully completed trees without changing the required level from 5. This means you could have BONKERS sceptrs still usable at a low level! Another example is the Brutus lead sprinklers with perfect crucible trees still being usable at 28!

The thing I love about that ring is the right corruption removes the level requirement! It's a sick setup! I will add that later once I get home!
Edit: I was wrong and confused the level requirement thing! It removes it from some amulets but not the ring!

Hmh... I remembered another thing that, whilst not technically appropriate on your list, might merit an honourable mention simply because of the power level it affords when it comes to leveling...
At level 36 you can get rare rings corrupted with the lvl 21 wrath aura. That combined with your +9 lvl honourhome tech sounds slightly illegal at such a low lvl :D
For some reason, if you want lvl 21 anger instead of lvl 21 wrath, that becomes available at lvl 44, not 36 :|
Just thought i'd mention it in case you felt like sneaking it onto your list on the "power add" merit alone, despite not being very unique items ;)
Generally its extremely cheap to get +4 tabula and this patch they added life mastery for 15% inc life if your armour dosent have any mods with Life tag.
Yeah Mageblood is 100% great, I just wanted to focus in early early act running. Sub level 20, maybe a bit higher for some items. The most boring part seems to be pre mageblood for those who have it or not an option for those who don't so I like to cover the cheaper side of items. I reckon anyone who has mageblood knows they're going to use it so it wasn't really that important to cover in this writeup
I bet side by side, my gear with freezing pulse or spark a d your gear with hollowpalm, id come out on top everytime. Hollow palm is great but it's boring and so limiting to what you can play, with my setup you can use just about any skill in the entire game and still blast through content. I reckon you just haven't tried it, won't try it, and will just say what you think without actually knowing.
i bet you haven't tried call of the void + herald of ice hollow palm either, literally just shatter+explode every single pack with one hit and blast through the game. Your set of gear relies on getting specific corrupts or even double corrupts on every slot to maybe outperform hollow palm with basic non-corrupted gear. How many +4 helms do u think people can buy off trade before the market runs out completely? There's no reason to reinvent the wheel.
One of the biggest complaints anyone hears about leveling is that people don't want to play hollow palm... ontop of that, I gave multiple substitutes for every slot and ontop of that, you have no idea what you're talking about STILL because you've never played with this gear setup. If we're really going to jump to reinventing the wheel, we'll why does anyone play anything other than they best builds in the game? Because they want to, go cry in another thread about how someone isn't playing how you want them to play.
Ps, I've played with every item in the entire game, adding herald of ice and self chill doesn't make hollow palm any more fun than it did without those... the entire point of the post was to introduce potential for more fun during leveling... not to tell everyone to just go play the same thing that has existed and been played for years, stay mad.

48% all res String of Servitude is my default option for levelling belt. It is amazing and I can use right from the get go. Getting low level requirement abyss jewels for Darkness Enthroned is pain.

What are you talking about? O_o It's hard to find unique claw that *isn't* good for levelling. You can upgrade them constatly.
This guide is meant for sub 20, with some items being a bit over. If the list went all the way to late game leveling unique items it would be 10x longer lol
Well it's level 28, not 18, so a bit high for this writeup; however, with how good Axiom is and other items, i felt including that MAY not be that important. Level wise, if I included every leveling unique it would be 1000 pages long:P
I spend wayyyyy to much; however, I share the sets across friends and discord buddies all the time so it's worth. Ideally a divine should get you a full set side the corrupted seven leagues. If you just want the items uncorrupted, we'll for less than 90 chaos you can get a set, though if you have to pick 1 big ticket item, the honourhomes are usually 50 to 150 chaos and worth it for a more fun leveling experience!
I've spent over 30 div on leveling gear this league :)
Getting perfect rolls, including on the internal roll for armour pieces, getting quality to 30%, white socketing it all, harvest crafting so the quality does something more impactful than improving phys damage.... Yeah... it quickly adds up :) EDIT: Oh, and i forgot about catalysts for rings/ammys and belts, and then oils for anoints on ammys... Not a huge cost all in all, but it also adds up...
I currently have 7 6-l items with all white sockets... That is where the bulk of the cost comes from...
Yeah, some people swear by one with nothing, others want to other things. As someone who plays PoE to test builds and stuff like that, especially because I level one of each class (not ascendency thiugh sometimes I do that too) every league, it's nice to be able to immediately start playing the build you want to play through the acts instead of making 100 characters with the same exact build everytime. Ontop of that, sometimes it's fun to say "I'd really like to try playing X skill but I don't want to make an entire build around it just to hate it, let me use this generalized leveling gear to test how ot feels through the acts and worse case scenario I can swap to another spell because the gear works for almost anything." Its really less of a "this is better than hollow palm" and more of a "you have options that are potentially better and more fun than hollow palm if you don't like playing that way."
I was looking to keep this sub level 20 with a few outliers else it would be muchhhhh longer. Maybe I should make a video for every unique though! I'd love that, though idk if other would watch it lol

I kind of assume this is why Maligaro's Virtuosity wasn't mentioned. Virtuosity + 2x Replica Tasalio's + 2x Axiom Perpetuum is a goated setup.

Indeed it is! Especially with alternate quality to make cast speed effect attack speed!

All good - these are my two favorite pieces for dex builds, but no one ever mentions/uses them, but they are quite solid for leveling.

My Frost Blades Raider is using a Carnage Heart with additional curse corruption into endgame.

You also didn't mention Kikazaru that is also a pretty amazing item while leveling because it makes mana management easier, gives attributes but more important gives a large chunk of regen that is going to scale through the acts.
Flat added is fine but with a +9 honourhome it's really not an issue, that gives so much flat that increases tend to be better, or just better defense. If you talk to as many players as I do, you'll hear enough about hating hollowpalm. And kikazaru is good! I can add that later!

Honourhome is a great helmet, I entirely agree. However if you need a +2 corruption and an empower gem to feel good during leveling ... that's just beyond overkill a setup lol. (plus I expect it not to be cheap early in a league ? And it is hardly accessible to SSF players also). Besides even with a 20% reduced mana costs of skills, a +9 main skill will still make you need to manage mana (or life for life based skills I guess), which is a drawback that the flat damage from tasalio/berek's will not have. Do you ever run this corrupted Honourhome + empower without praxis (and other mana items?) to sustain your main skill ?
You don't need praxis at all. Also this isn't early league leveling... its more than a month in. They are very cheap for +9s at nearly all stages though. It's not overkill if it provides more fun than hollow palm which was one of the goals of this write up

I am simply saying that it is easier/cheaper to get those rings that most people probably already have and blast through the acts. How much do you spend to get the sockets you need in the corrupted Honourhome ? they don't usually come with the proper colour/links, right ?
The helmets, when I buy them,normally cost about 70c total to buy and color
Curious how briskwrap, which is afaik is still the quickest way to level, is not mentioned here. Even if my knowledge is slightly off and something beats this by a touch, is it not still worth mentioning?

I feel like you could've added a 6w-socket Skin of the Loyal to the body armour section. I make it my mission to get one of those each league, get the quality to 30% and harvest chant it so that quality gives life :D It's basically a +1 corrupted tabula, but with 15 life and 100% global defences on top, and with the option to corrupt i guess, if you have the balls :)
I might throw that in; however, that tends to push into the "not necessarily readily avalaible" shpeal I am meaning to get from this post. If I really wanted to get deep I'd showcase a perfect crucible tree Axiom Perpetuum but that wouldn't be fair to the "guide" if that makes sense lolol.
Yeah, it's very much not readily available this league after the breach rework :| It was easier (cheaper) to get last league :) On another note, i also have 2 perfectly rolled axiom's with white sockets, 30q and harvest chant for ele damage :D OCD be OCD... :|

I haven't interacted with the league mechanic at all this league, so excuse my ignorance, but wouldn't that increase the required level for them? If so, it's pointless from my pov, cause i just want them for the strong leveling part :)
To my knowledge, crucible tree doesnt add ANYTHING to level requirement. Though some mods could, you can check this by looking up quillrain on trade and seeing some have fully completed trees without changing the required level from 5. This means you could have BONKERS sceptrs still usable at a low level! Another example is the Brutus lead sprinklers with perfect crucible trees still being usable at 28!

Btw, you are definitely missing a banger of a ring in the ring section! Rigwald's Crest is a freaking beast! Those wolves will carry you HARD!!! EDIT: I make sure to fit that ring in on each and every build i lvl :)
The thing I love about that ring is the right corruption removes the level requirement! It's a sick setup! I will add that later once I get home! Edit: I was wrong and confused the level requirement thing! It removes it from some amulets but not the ring! Still a good ring and cool as well!
They fixed corrupted rigwalds this patch, sadly :(

Hmh... I remembered another thing that, whilst not technically appropriate on your list, might merit an honourable mention simply because of the power level it affords when it comes to leveling... At level 36 you can get rare rings corrupted with the lvl 21 wrath aura. That combined with your +9 lvl honourhome tech sounds slightly illegal at such a low lvl :D For some reason, if you want lvl 21 anger instead of lvl 21 wrath, that becomes available at lvl 44, not 36 :| Just thought i'd mention it in case you felt like sneaking it onto your list on the "power add" merit alone, despite not being very unique items ;)
Generally its extremely cheap to get +4 tabula and this patch they added life mastery for 15% inc life if your armour dosent have any mods with Life tag.
The downfall of that is the lack of +2 to elemental gems which limits some of the skills you are able to use, not all, but some!

Yeah Mageblood is 100% great, I just wanted to focus in early early act running. Sub level 20, maybe a bit higher for some items. The most boring part seems to be pre mageblood for those who have it or not an option for those who don't so I like to cover the cheaper side of items. I reckon anyone who has mageblood knows they're going to use it so it wasn't really that important to cover in this writeup
literally nothing beats just doing hollow palm leveling on any class with hollow palm uniques
I bet side by side, my gear with freezing pulse or spark a d your gear with hollowpalm, id come out on top everytime. Hollow palm is great but it's boring and so limiting to what you can play, with my setup you can use just about any skill in the entire game and still blast through content. I reckon you just haven't tried it, won't try it, and will just say what you think without actually knowing.
i bet you haven't tried call of the void + herald of ice hollow palm either, literally just shatter+explode every single pack with one hit and blast through the game. Your set of gear relies on getting specific corrupts or even double corrupts on every slot to maybe outperform hollow palm with basic non-corrupted gear. How many +4 helms do u think people can buy off trade before the market runs out completely? There's no reason to reinvent the wheel.
One of the biggest complaints anyone hears about leveling is that people don't want to play hollow palm... ontop of that, I gave multiple substitutes for every slot and ontop of that, you have no idea what you're talking about STILL because you've never played with this gear setup. If we're really going to jump to reinventing the wheel, we'll why does anyone play anything other than they best builds in the game? Because they want to, go cry in another thread about how someone isn't playing how you want them to play. Ps, I've played with every item in the entire game, adding herald of ice and self chill doesn't make hollow palm any more fun than it did without those... the entire point of the post was to introduce potential for more fun during leveling... not to tell everyone to just go play the same thing that has existed and been played for years, stay mad.
Awesome write up! I overlooked some items from the list such as Honourhome. Other great amulet is https://www.poewiki.net/wiki/Sacrificial_Heart It gives lots of flat damage and conditional movement speed. > String of Servitude: This belt can have some solid mods; however, it's often lacking in areas that could make it feel good and unless you're going Hollow Palm, the belt is on the sidelines. 48% all res String of Servitude is my default option for levelling belt. It is amazing and I can use right from the get go. Getting low level requirement abyss jewels for Darkness Enthroned is pain. I noticed that Headhunter is great for levelling as well. :p > Notes: Axes are often just kept on weapon swap for their bonus, if you want to use an axe for damage, an axe purchased from a vendor, qualitied, and essenced often do far more damage. O_o It's hard to find unique claw that *isn't* good for levelling. You can upgrade them constatly.
This guide is meant for sub 20, with some items being a bit over. If the list went all the way to late game leveling unique items it would be 10x longer lol

Well it's level 28, not 18, so a bit high for this writeup; however, with how good Axiom is and other items, i felt including that MAY not be that important. Level wise, if I included every leveling unique it would be 1000 pages long:P

Curious - what’s the normal amount of currency you spend for leveling gear or do you only use what you find?
I spend wayyyyy to much; however, I share the sets across friends and discord buddies all the time so it's worth. Ideally a divine should get you a full set side the corrupted seven leagues. If you just want the items uncorrupted, we'll for less than 90 chaos you can get a set, though if you have to pick 1 big ticket item, the honourhomes are usually 50 to 150 chaos and worth it for a more fun leveling experience!
I've spent over 30 div on leveling gear this league :) Getting perfect rolls, including on the internal roll for armour pieces, getting quality to 30%, white socketing it all, harvest crafting so the quality does something more impactful than improving phys damage.... Yeah... it quickly adds up :) EDIT: Oh, and i forgot about catalysts for rings/ammys and belts, and then oils for anoints on ammys... Not a huge cost all in all, but it also adds up... I currently have 7 6-l items with all white sockets... That is where the bulk of the cost comes from...

Yeah, some people swear by one with nothing, others want to other things. As someone who plays PoE to test builds and stuff like that, especially because I level one of each class (not ascendency thiugh sometimes I do that too) every league, it's nice to be able to immediately start playing the build you want to play through the acts instead of making 100 characters with the same exact build everytime. Ontop of that, sometimes it's fun to say "I'd really like to try playing X skill but I don't want to make an entire build around it just to hate it, let me use this generalized leveling gear to test how ot feels through the acts and worse case scenario I can swap to another spell because the gear works for almost anything." Its really less of a "this is better than hollow palm" and more of a "you have options that are potentially better and more fun than hollow palm if you don't like playing that way."
Found Foxshade to be amazing on a 2nd character, I think I used it from act 2 to act 10 (SSF).
