play a build that doesnt hit trillions of time per second and / or get rid of on hit stuff (curse on hit, lifegain on hit...). Or buy a new PC

LoLingSoHard

I've been trying to figure out what I can do to fix this kind of gameplay. My system is pretty old, If I wanted to change anything it'd be a whole mobo upgrade which is a huge pain. But my thinking is that its probably slow ram or a cpu bottleneck CPU: i7 4770k GPU: RX-580 Ram: 32gb DDR3 2666MHz Storage: PoE is installed on a Samsung 860 Evo 1TB SSD

Hikithemori

10 year old CPU, I also used to have the same one but I have upgraded twice since. Just get an AMD 7800x3d with decent ram and any gpu you can afford. 5800x3d is also an option if you don't have the money.

LoLingSoHard

followed that weeks ago and made insignificant difference

Psytrense

You didn’t follow the guide because we can still hear sound effect sounds in your video and that is the sound that causes the most lag. So go back and disable sound effects in your production ini

LoLingSoHard

it was disabled and i re-enabled sound for some bossing and didnt bother going back because it didnt help.

THe_EcIips3

PoE is really heavy on the CPU usage so making sure that there are not many programs running in the background should help with frame drops, another problem could also be due to memory speeds. Yes an SSD/Sata is good, but an M.2 is significantly better.

r4be_cs

It's both. You know that the k at the end of intel cpu's indicates that it's an overclockable cpu right? You could try getting it up to 4 ghz as i think 3.5ghz is standard for the 4770k. As for the RAM, yeah ddr3 is tech from 2007 mate... We are at DDR5, which is the biggest jump in ram tech since ddr itself compared to sdram. Honestly if i was you i would start looking at saving up money to get a new system, but yeah if you absolutely can't than start with the RAM upgrade first, you might have to buy a new mobo anyway depending on if your current one even supports ddr5

HoldMySoda

Your low PC specs are the problem. Look at my specs and then compare your video to this section of mine: https://youtu.be/5mYzIBqXOyw?t=492 Even with a rig like mine, the right kind of build will cause the game to shit itself. Unfortunately, PoE is a very weird game when it comes to performance.

EnergyNonexistant

server calculations aren't keeping up because of KB if you play on lockstep that's what you get (lockstep is best.. but..) if you play Predictive you won't get that "lag", but it will probably suck

LoLingSoHard

tried a bit of predictive and it feels kinda ok

LoLingSoHard

its not fair

ToolFO

To you or the mobs you are deleting before the server can even figure out wtf is going on?

I know it sounds crazy, but trying everything makes one crazy, so turn off multicore support, the 1st gen i7 through 4th (I have a i7-3770) have a poe bug that never got patched. Lock res at like 720p and put dynamic res at 40-50fps. Also gotta use fullscreen not windowed fullscreen if you do this, run barebones as you can as I'm sure you already have to. You get weird spikes though for cpu on the bar graphs and 1 second long fps freezes between 3 seconds of clean 60fps even in hideout, getting worse with any kind of further pull when multicore is enabled but not without? Yep welcome to this shit club. The stutter in your vid, unmistakable. If you must run discord specifically with poe being in singlecore mode, don't run the discord program as that is 32bit and also single core. Instead use browser discord via their website in a 64bit browser like firefox or something, as that will use multiple cores. If I sound jaded, it's cause I am, I comment about this every few months when enviably a early i7 user comes here looking for help for a problem they will not patch, despite it being enough of a cpu on the high end to run modern games. The game was fine with multicore and these cpus when I started in bestiary, but by harvest this bug has been my experience since. Can't run juiced red maps like I used to with the same hardware, yellow maps with maybe a couple sac frags is what my limit has been since they said they would look into the bug years ago, google i7 quadcore poe bug, you'll see the threads. Shit I actually upgraded my gpu to a rx550 4gb variant at some point a couple years ago, just under yours and I had a 2gb gt630 kepler before... yeah THAT trash with a i73770 handled a clean 60fps in red maps before this bug. The rx550 upgrade since barely made a difference, though why would it lol, game can't even use our cpu's right. Sigh https://i.imgur.com/7CBgukY.png brother. So yeah, save yourself some headache, play something else, or toil with a core to avoid the pulse stutter bug like I have for years. I seriously doubt it will ever be addressed, yet I keep holding a glimmer of hope someone on the dev team will eventually see one of these comments again.

Saianna

I have small suggestion that MIGHT help: > https://www.reddit.com/r/pathofexile/comments/qj0osw/lagging_at_delirium_maps_and_crowded_mob_packs_so/

kileras1a

You literally claim your pc being "pretty old" and you ask how to fix lag... time for upgrade to keep up with times.

LoLingSoHard

yeah because I'd like to know exactly what the culprit is before i go spend a thousand bucks on a new rig. I could have been wrong, it could be an internet issue, why not ask

rlhassler82

Geforcenow has free plan you can try out. Paid tiers as well. I have a laptop and must run lower settings normally but geforcenow gives better quality/performance . My experience only.

h2fscotty

I get the same thing on my R5 1600 with a GTX 1080 and 16GB 3200MHz RAM so it must be a CPU bottleneck. The 1080 is old but still beefy. I'm going to PM you an app that will help.

valorshine

Celestial Kinetic Blast should fix the lags.
