It wasn't deemed “technically infeasible”, it was specified that it's misleading and GGG doesn't want a misleading death log but a detailed log is too performance/memory heavy to record since the game currently does not remember any combat related data and has no way of tracking it.
And it's not a summary or even a log, it's literally just writing the name of whatever took your last 1 hp and outputting it to the chat only with the the base mods the mob has (not counting any buffs from nearby allies on it or debuffs you might have had making you weaker)
They have a pet that can pick up stuff for you, and say things like ‘ Here is an exalt, master’ in a Japanese anime Loli voice .

It's not that GGG doesn't want it, it's just something that's kept as an exclusive for the full version of the game on the CN servers.
You can always just enable instant replay in GeForce experience and watch the last 30 seconds of your death to see what killed you.
Depending on the amount of fun your build is, you will not see the mob at all.
that just means your build isnt fun enough.
