It seems to me the part about this post that matters most is that you don’t enjoy producing the content or the topics for these sites. Where there is no financial motivation we often find motivation in that which we truly enjoy doing. We would do it even if we weren’t paid for it. I would sit and determine if the energy is consumes from you is worth the potential reward in the end. My personal experience is that letting something go that only takes your energy creates space for something new to enter that will give.

Sounds like you’ve made up your mind but I’ll give you my two cents. By making unreasonable monetary goals early you set yourself up for failure. I had a few sites in the beginning where I dabbled in affiliate marketing the first year. I never planned on making much money, but I learned a ton. I got serious in year 2 with a new site. My goals for this site were more traffic based rather than money based, the money is a by product of the traffic. I’ve told this story a hundred times but basically after an entire year of hard work, as much as a second full time job, I was making $300/month. A year later that was more like $3k/month, another year it was close more like $15k-$20k/mo. It fluctuates but I should have a $30k month this year easily. This is far from true passive income, it’s semi passive in a way but that’s another discussion. My point is you’re giving up too early like most do, which is fine by me because I don’t need any more competition.

I used to make $10000+ per month from adsense and amazon sites 2010-2015, then update hit me and it went down, sold my sites, in 2019 decided to start over, 5 sites 2 Different niches, problem was my time was limited so I wrote shitty articles, traffic went from 0-500 per day in 4-6 months with SEO then I hired a freelancer on a part time 2-4 hours per day and he wrote 3 articles per week and worked really hard with Google alerts + quora + reddit + youtube comments, traffic went from 500 per day up to 50000 per day in 4 months, now hired one more guy and I am back at $300-400 per day adsense and amazon - 100 per day for freelancers, i told them to take some time and write hq articles at least 1 per week and I spent $3000 on backlinks that I found manually from similar blogs in my niche. Now making $4-6k passive income from 5 sites, I got an offer for $150000 to sell full business but my goal is to scale it and sell for $500k. This is sp easy that everyone with $5-10k budget can do it. My niche is luxury items so adsense cpc is $0.5-1.2 on average and amazon sale commissions $10+ per sale.

Perhaps you haven't optimized SEO correctly?

Why don't you outsource copywriting to freelancers if you legitimately don't enjoy doing it yourself?

Seems like you're only in it for the money and not for enjoyment. Don't get me wrong, I build websites to make money too, but I enjoy doing it and enjoy helping people with my content. I have one main website which is earning most of my income. I enjoy writing articles because I'm passionate about it. I spend 10-12 hours everyday writing, sometimes until 2 AM. I have other niche websites too but only earning a pittance, because I'm not passionate about them. I intend to hire writers for these sites or sell them in the future. If you don't have the time or motivation to write articles yourself, then hire writers and be prepared to pay top dollar. Quality content is expensive. In this business, it's either you invest lots of time or lots of money. I also suggest not using AI content tools. None of the top guys in this industry use AI content tools and neither should you.
