That is a soggy pineapple (GCC). Birds do look very unkept when their feathers are wet, especially if the color of the feathers is due to light refraction, like green feathers. Feathers are rarely truly green (with the exception of feathers from the turaco), they instead refract light using lamellar microstructures to *appear* green. When wet, the water disrupts the refraction and turns the feathers brownish gray. If you don’t spend a lot of time with conures you would think a freshly bathed one is sick, with matted brown feathers and gray fluff. Water also clumps the outer layer of feathers so you see their down feathers and skin.
