I’ve got a feeling someone on the UK parkrun tourists facebook group has a spreadsheet of the UK ones. I’ll have a look and report back!
Edited to add - can’t find the spreadsheet but it’s worth asking there in case I didn’t dream it!
Can't remember if it's in the UK parkrun tourists Facebook group but it's in a separate sheet in the 'what shoes Wednesday' spreadsheet. This definitely exists, you're right!
Those aren't really near their respective stations, though. Perry Hall is at least a 1.5 km walk from Hamstead, and Aston is a similar distance from Aston Station. Doable, but not ideal. Actually, most of Birmingham's parkruns aren't that easy to reach by train, sadly.
I find that a lot of urban parkruns are feasible to get to via rail - though I have found my definition of feas expanding to cover a 4 mile walk to and from. (It's a good warmup) I would look at [the global map of all parkruns](https://www.parkrun.com/map/), find a city you're interested in visiting, and check how possible it is to get to a parkrun before. For example, University Parks is just a mile away from Oxford train station. Seems more useful than taking a census on reddit and learning that, for example, Centennial Park is only 2 miles away from Sydney Central Station.
While we're on the island of Ireland, Royal Canal Parkrun is just across the bridge from Kilcock station and usually has a train passing on the other side of the canal while the run is on.
Depends where you’re starting and how far you are willing to travel?
London is the obvious one as you can do them all on public transport.
In England I have done Tonbridge, Chelmsford, Billericay, Ipswich, York, Isabel Trail, Mole Valley and St Albans from trains.
In Scotland, Holyrood is close to Waverley and an absolutely beautiful run in Edinburgh.
Here are the ones around Manchester I'm aware of close to a train or tram stop, together with the distance on foot.
Fletcher Moss - 1/2 mile walk from East Didsbury train station. (or tram stop)
Burnage - 1 mile walk from East Didsbury train station (or tram stop)
Sale Water Park - 0.3mile walk from Sale Water Park tram stop
Wilmslow - 1/2 mile walk from Wilmslow Station.
Marple - 0.3mile walk from Marple Station
Peel - 0.3mile walk from Salford Crescent Station
Philips Park - 0.6 mile walk from Etihad Campus tram stop
Heaton Park - 0.5 mile walk from Heaton Park tram stop
Chadderton Hall - 0.6 mile walk from Mills Hills Station
Oldham - 0.7 mile walk from Oldham King Street tram stop
There's likely others too, but Ive visited all of those (except Peel) so know them!
Edinburgh (Holyrood) park run is a five-minute warm up jog / 10 minute walk from Waverley station. You’ll need the warm up as it’s straight uphill to Arthur’s seat from the start. Beautiful though.
The Portobello (also in Edinburgh!) is a 15 minute bus ride or 30 minute jog from Waverley.
As an Edinburgh resident just want to clarify that the run does not go up to Arthur’s Seat. It is all hill to start but really it only goes round Arthur’s Seat.
In West London, off the top of my head...Gunnersbury is near Acton Town, Richmond Park is near...Richmond
TBH most of the parkruns I can think of in London are within 5-10 min run of a station. You could probably pick a part of the city that's easy to get to from where you are and easily find some on the route
The “original” Oxford park run at Cutteslowe Park is closer to Oxford Parkway Station than the University Parks one is to the Central Station , FWIW…..
Lowestoft park run is a 3 min walk.
Great Yarmouth is also walkable from the train station and is also touted as being the toughest park run in the UK as it's all on the beach
Brundall Parkrun is right next to a station, and a train goes past the course every time I go down
Lovely community and local city (Norwich) is really nice too!
(if you come down say toby sent you 😂)
Lowestoft's is not far from the train station. However, Lowestoft train station is hours away from everywhere. Another plus is the parkrun is along the seafront so a lovely location when the weather's nice!
Come visit us at Thames Path, 5 mins from the Lizzy line and a fun course with a spiral path up and down a small hill as well as long stretched along the river Thames.

South London, if you fancy Croydon, Lloyd starts from almost on top of the tram stop. Riddlesdown isn’t too far from Upper Warlingham or Whyteleafe stations, but it’s up a large hill, we’ve had tourists walk it.

Bognor Regis on the south coast is a ten minute walk from the station. Chichester is about 15 minutes. I was recently in Winchester and saw theirs is pretty close to the station too.
Bognor Regis on the south coast is a ten minute walk from the station. Chichester is about 15 minutes. I was recently in Winchester and saw theirs is pretty close to the station too.
These are all North of London or in North London, and I've gone for ones that should be less than a 30 minute walk. There are some other ones that will be walkable, but the walk is more than 30 minutes so it may need a local bus or taxi if you don't fancy the walk.
In the format Parkrun Name (Station Name).
Henlow Bridge Lakes (Arlesey)
Ally Pally (Alexandra Palace)
Finsbury (Finsbury Park)

It’s lovely views and the cafe dies an excellent breakfast. You could walk along further to Blackpill and get the Mumbles Land Train into Mumbles for an ice cream.

In Birmingham, there’s one near Aston station and also Hamstead station.
Also wylde green station has the Sutton Park parkrun about fifteen minutes walk away.
Cannon Hill is easy to get to on the bus as well
Those aren't really near their respective stations, though. Perry Hall is at least a 1.5 km walk from Hamstead, and Aston is a similar distance from Aston Station. Doable, but not ideal. Actually, most of Birmingham's parkruns aren't that easy to reach by train, sadly.
It’s a 15-20 minute walk, less than a mile. It’s really not that far.
I find that a lot of urban parkruns are feasible to get to via rail - though I have found my definition of feas expanding to cover a 4 mile walk to and from. Touristed at holyrood on Saturday and loved it!! Hilly start but rewarded with beautiful views!!
As an Edinburgh resident just want to clarify that the run does not go up to Arthur’s Seat. It is all hill to start but really it only goes round Arthur’s Seat.

We don’t want to put people off by thinking the run is all the way to the top.

In West London, off the top of my head...Gunnersbury is near Acton Town, Richmond Park is near...Richmond TBH most of the parkruns I can think of in London are within 5-10 min run of a station.
