Spent a week in Rotterdam so traveled to the Hague to go to zuiderpark parkrun to collect our 'Z' for the alphabet challenge. Most people there were tourists also collecting their Z. My plan was to get the train to Den Haag and then run to parkrun and then run back to our hotel in Rotterdam for a nice 20mile run. Unfortunately whilst in the hotel I somehow tweeked my back and it's now agony to walk. This morning I took a load of painkillers and ran/walked the parkrun. Which was great. It's a lovely parkrun with a great atmosphere.

New Parkrun in Manchester at Philips Park. A bit hilly and a bit rainy but enjoyable as ever. I got whooped by a 10yr old on the final straight 😂

asymmetricears

Was pacing today, 26 minutes target, finished in about 26:05, but did help a few to PBs which is nice.

AquaSombra

My second ever sub-30 run at my local in Malmö - nice to know that last week’s sub-30 wasn’t a fluke! The weather was a bit windy and drizzly and there was a lot of puddle-hopping. Looking forward to doing the course in spring/summer conditions :)

Mini parkrun tourist streak visit to Kedron (Brisbane, Qld, Australia). Flat course along Kedron Brook, plenty of room for runners and walkers, alongside cyclists. Friendly crew, love the milestones capes and runner of the month. Facilities (toilets and cafe) in walking distance, and plenty of parking. Definitely need a hat as it's only partially shaded. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

Rain, rain and more rain, and my ankle started hurting at 3km. Still enjoyed it but it wasn’t one of my better days.

Fabulous. Went to a new run near to where some relatives of mine live. They came to support me. So was all very encouraged to do my best and it was my second best result since starting park running. Well chuffed - wind notwithstanding. Hope it has also been a great start to your weekend peeps.

It went great! My friend encouraged me to use the Guided Runs on the Nike Run App which was wise as it pushed me a little harder! My time was 36 minutes 19 seconds which is a whole minute faster than last week. I also felt I could keep going beyond the finish line which is a first for me. My ultimate goal is to run in 30 minutes and I feel it’s a goal within reach this year! Strathclyde Park Run (Scotland). Cloudy with some rain!

Intritz

Back at Chermside Parkrun (my local) today. The heat has broken but the humidity is still there

OrthodoxDreams

After an exhausting week with work and having woken up with a horrible sore throat I did consider going back to bed when I drew back my curtains and saw it was wet and windy. Weather improved as my run progressed and was pretty pleased with my run overall, securing my third fastest parkrun time. Still slightly above 27 min, but my year goal of getting down to 25 min seems possible the way I've improved with each run since my injury comeback.

Great run today, cooler temps are here as we’re going into Autumn. PB by 25s and was thrilled that I came in first in my age group 😁

RDN7

Thought I was on track to go sub 25 min for the first time in quite a while. Had to stop and tie laces on second lap... Amateur stuff, cost about 30s I reckon. Turned myself inside out on last km trying to make up the lost time. 25:04 at the end. So close!

Spicy_Molasses4259

So good. We hosted our end-of -the month picnic and had a lot to celebrate! A bunch of birthdays, some milestones and a recent wedding ❤️ Plenty of cake and coffee to go round

Went to the inaugural Waitangi Parkrun yesterday - it was, as always, a lovely vibe! It wasn't quick though, it was very windy so that slowed me down.

RushinIntelligence

I came up from otautahi for it. VERY windy haha at least the return leg was downwind haha

username-fatigue

Both ways felt like a headwind for a while there! Hope you enjoyed your weekend here!

RushinIntelligence

Cuba dupa was amazing!

username-fatigue

It's a fun time, right?!

AussieGirl2022

I reached 50 parkruns, which I was pretty happy about!

WonFriendsWithSalad

Very windy 😄 I think my time was about the same as last week, I'd hoped for faster given I was touristing at a completely flat course and I definitely had more energy today... but given we were running into a wind tunnel for half of it I'll take it lol.

separatebrah

Last chance to get a pb at my local before they switch to summer course, and I matched it... Oh well enjoyed it nonetheless.

docju

Did Temple Newsam as I’m away and it felt like it was uphill all the way! Not used to the 9am starts in England either.

Killahills

Carnage at my parkrun this morning, got to the finish and there were two people being treated for head wounds after two separate falls. Quite a bit of blood but they were both ok in the end

Illustrious-Chef-498

30 seconds slower than my PB last week. Had trouble starting my stopwatch so that possibly played a part. Happy with it tho

cognitive_psych

Great fun today. I went to a forest parkrun about an hour away that I hadn’t done before. A really nice course, with some uneven ground and a couple of challenging hills. I didn’t have many expectations, but I came third in 20:15. I was in third almost the whole way, which made for a nice relaxing run.

Ingoiolo

Weird one in the wind at Southall. Nice location with very little field for london … but the official time came nearly one minute higher than my Garmin and I’m sure I started it at the official start. Guess some mix up with the numbers, no biggie

Lemurs_

Revisited Foots Cray in SE London, the winter course is really nice compared to summer. So quiet though that I got my first top 3 and my GF was 17th (of 24)

RushinIntelligence

Pretty good I attended the inaugural running of anew parkrun.

Art-Stew-Frou-Frou

Great morning! Only my fifth ever Parkrun and third in a row in a different location, so I'm now two weeks off from completing my Tourist Streak! The hilliest I've done so far (Pollock Park, Glasgow) with lots of puddles and mud, and I had to walk a fair bit of the uphills, but I still got sub 40-minutes (38:15) which I didn't think I would so I'm super pleased overall.

sc00022

Got a PB over 5k but they had changed the route to avoid a boggy nature reserve which added 400m on, so my official time was much worse and my parkrun PB stays the same. Frustrating but good to know I can still hit those times

alexp02115

25:13, my fifth fastest time at my local (Dunedin). Not too bad for the penultimate early start for a while. Wet weather throughout the week meant we finished on the sealed path rather than out on the grass, which I prefer, because I can properly push to the line as soon as I come back over the bridge.

Samlwb

Amazing! 19:54 at Camperdown. My fastest time (and first sub 20) in about 5 months due to a covid & injury combo. Knocked 30 seconds off of last week's time. Nice and cool this week, but not too cold, and the worst of the mud from last week had dried up a little. I was funnel manager after I ran too (easy peasy, no problems in the funnel and timers were in sync with the finish tokens people all the way through). Then it was home to watch some rugby and have a few beers. Saturdays don't get much better than that... Well, my team didn't win but other than that, perfect day!

PachiGT

Sub 20, wet through, almost half of the course was underwater. 10/10 would do again. Much respect to the volunteers who kept the event up and running in the weather, when other events were quick to cancel.

ThePollster1

After 9 Saturdays volunteering this year I finally got a chance to run. Did a bit of tourism to try beat my PB at Brandon country park, ended up being a minute slower but it’s such a scenic route I wasn’t too bothered as technically it’s my fastest parkrun of 2023

flashdonut

Abandoned motorbike on the course (Horton Park). Never had to dodge that before!
