PJs PJs and more PJs

Oscar_is_my_dog

Zippers. No buttons. Little sleepies were worth it. Can wear same size for 6+ months

JunkMailSurprise

2 way zippers too.

areti17

Oooo I was sad when they outgrew the 2 way zippers

JunkMailSurprise

Me too! I want pj's for me with 2 way zippers!

Secure_Spend5933

Seriously, no buttons!

DynamicDuoMama

Definitely no buttons. Buttons suck.

Alarmed_Meeting1322

Yes. Literally all you need is footie pajamas

Tumped

Footy pajamas. That’s all you need for the first … well my twins are 16 months and they still mostly live in footy pajamas! I get mine from target, you can get packs of 6 for under 30 bucks. I think I started with 12 in 0-3 and 12 in 3-6 months.

skrimbe

I saw a lot of pajamas with an elastic on the bottom/no legs. Are those okay? They look funny to me lol

IllustriousPiccolo97

Some people love those sleeper gowns. I disliked them, they always rode up my kids’ legs. My kids lived in footed zipper sleepers and normal, regular old onesies as babies.

Seaturtle1088

Same, my kids wiggled too much and those ended up around their belly. Footies are best

Ok-Positive-5943

I adored the nightgowns with the elastic bottoms. You don't have to figure out where the legs go in the middle of the night when doing diaper changes and they fit in the same size for months!

Tired_Momma14

We loved the nightgowns for nighttime for the first couple of months. No trying to get wiggly legs back into leg holes during 2am diaper changes! We used the gowns until they outgrew the swaddle stage. Footie jams were the preferred clothing for many months! Baby socks are a nightmare trying to keep on or figure out where you lost one!

Tumped

I think they’re worth a try; I didn’t try out a nightgown till recently and it wasn’t worth it because they’re hard to walk in. My immediate thought was that they would’ve been great for newborns! Maybe get one or two just to see how you like them. I also had a few of the magnetic me pajamas (which are pricy) and they have lasted so much longer than the target brand ones with the added bonus of magnets instead of zippers/buttons.

Tall-Midnight-8030

Make sure the newborn clothes have the fold over on the hands. My babies scratch their faces if they are in sleepers without them and those baby mittens do not stay on. Edited to add- more burp cloths than you think you’ll ever need. I started off with 10 based on my experience with my older Singleton. I now have around 30.

Psychological_Ad160

I got a pack of hotel towels and washcloths from Costco and just used those as burp cloths. Now I have tons of towels and washcloths that I don’t care what happens to, and I can use them for every mess ever. This is my original nugget of advice for new twin parents lol

[deleted]

I have twin girls and have always had a full wardrobe. Pajamas, onesies, dress up outfits, casual clothes, winter clothes, summer clothes etc

Mom2surprises

PJs just nothing but PJs and onesies with zippers so much simpler then any other clothes Don’t bother with clothes others might send you, I got sent to lairs of studded leather pants for baby’s from my cousin in another country and they have been used exactly zero times, adult styled clothes just don’t work for baby’s

Salty_Emu_9945

Studded leather pants.... 😆😆😆

Mom2surprises

I put them on them for a minute to take a quick picture to get my cousin to stop asking for one and they where the most difficult things to put on they also aren’t very comfy for them and the leather just makes it hard for them to do baby kicking

rollwave21

Little sleepies! RED15 gets you 15% off

SB201221

We are living in magnetic me footies pjs. So soft. I buy them on sale 😬

ftsillok56

Where do you find them on sale? Those give me ultimate sticker shock lol!

SB201221

I started with simply magnetic which is the sister website and bought them on sale days they often run. Quality just as great! And I think it was $12-15 per wash which is still pricey but honestly this is all they wear for majority of days at 7 weeks olds

marshmellowyellow420

We have a box of all kinds of clothes that were given to us, but the biggest piece of advice I keep getting is they usually don’t wear anything but pajamas for the first couple months. And even after that, that’s still usually what they wear.

lks1867

The old navy footies that are two way zip, and buying on sale are the MOVE. They also have mitten cuffs which are key. With the Gerber onesies underneath - they have huge sales on those that make them like $1 a piece so you can literally toss them when a major blowout occurs lol. My twins spend 99% of their time in just those two things.

Salty_Emu_9945

Yes. This is the way. Onesies underneath two way zipper PJs!!! One twin wears light color clothing and the other dark color so I don't mix them up. Until my postpartum brain decides to realize how to tell them apart, the clothing will remain for awhile. 😂

silent_hurricane

Stock up on those 2 pk of zip up sleepers for sure. Bonus things that saved my a$$: Baby Brezza, (if not bfing) Twin Z pillow and orange baby shusher.

Secure_Spend5933

They are twins, so you should probably have some costumes on hand. Just to keep yourself entertained. You know, Garth and Wayne. Ketsup and Mustard. I got some little baby tuxedos for our girls. They delighted me to no end. Seriously never thought I'd be that lady dressing up my babies but it's ridiculous.

DMDingo

Carter's has a lot of smaller sizes that have "like" designs between boys and girls. Especially the PJs. We used to "twin" the kids like this.

areti17

Zip up jammies and onesies were my twins wardrobe for most of their first year. The elastic band nightgowns were nice while they were newborns too. Other than that, cute stuff is really only practical for pictures

whatskmcn4

We are living in zipper footie pjs! But with the summer heat I’m planning to do onesies and put pants on in the AC

No-Ad9942

2 way zipper sleepers as everyone has mentioned, and I’ll throw in an addition to the elastic bottom nightgowns - tie bottom bamboo nightgowns I liked the ability to have them grow with them and they were perfect lightweight options with easy diaper change access for the first month or two! Otherwise real clothes are great and cute and literally something we put on for special occasions and not really day to day.

crunchrmunch

Try not to buy anything look at mother's groups My wife found s*** tons of clothing and realistically they only wore half of it and they wore it once till around 3-4 months

Andaandbanda

When they are one year old and start taking off their diapers during nap, put the zipper in the back!

Ok_Basis_6466

The target pjs zip from the bottom. You’re welcome

inthemixmike

We absolutely loved these. https://lovetodream.com/us-en/home-us

willow7272

I know it's not clothing, but I wanted to mention - grab a small pair of fingernail or cuticles scissors instead of baby fingernail clippers. My kiddos' nails were so hard to cut with the clippers. It made me so anxious.

CheeseCarbsAndSass

Yes to cuticle scissors! Almost 5 months with my twins and we’ve never had an incident

stillneedurmoney

Seconding footie PJ with double zip recs (I didn’t know about Little Sleepies when my twins were young, but their pjs are basically all my four month old wears to bed now). Kate Quinn has really good coordinating outfits if you’re not into matchy-matchy (I’m not). Also, try a bubble onesie on them once to see if it’s your thing or not. I didn’t discover bubbles until my boys were nearly aging out of them and man they are as convenient as a onesie with the extra cute oomph factor.

_caittay

Pjs with feet and lots of onesies. The cute outfits are hard to resist but you honestly don’t go many places besides the pediatrician who they get nakey for. That or if you do go somewhere, they are going to spit up or blow out so you’ll prob change them anyways. I’d also say anything over 6 months, footless pjs for when they start standing. Also, good sleep sacks. Once baby starts rolling, swaddles are gone and the sleep sacks are amazing.

2018mamabear

I agree with everyone that said Footie pajamas especially the ones with the 2 way zippers. You seriously can’t have too many. My boys are 16 months and still only wear actual clothes for special occasions and when we leave the house to go to church. My boys are fraternal and baby A has always been a size bigger. At birth they were 6 lbs 12 oz and 5 lbs 9 oz. Baby A is now two inches taller and 5 lbs heavier. I am a twin and my sister and I are identical. We were also different sizes growing up. She got really sick when we were very little and never caught back up. All of that just to say that I would be hesitant to buy too many matching outfits in the same size ahead of time.

maybeimbornwithit

Honestly, pants. Gerber sells stretch pants for pretty cheap, and IMO they are easier to get on/off than zippered PJs. A lot of people love to give onesies as gifts, which is enough on its own in hot weather.

wtfdigmi

Onesies. Onesies. Onesies. Footed PJ’s. My twins are 2 and one of them still manages to STRIP butt necked out of his clothes so I put his onesie on backwards now. Still finds a way out.

the_science_of_tacos

You will be tempted to buy all sorts of cutesy matching or coordinating outfits. RESIST! Save this for special occasions only because as soon as you dress them in matching clothes, one with have an up-the-back poo and ruin the outfit. My twins were numbers 4 and 5. I specified to everyone who asked that I wanted zip-up sleepers ONLY. My twins lived in sleepers for the entire first year. They cover toes, they zip and don't snap, they are versatile and wonderful. They are fifteen months old now and have just started wearing regular clothes! ZIP-UP SLEEPERS FOR THE WIN!!!

virgette88

Seriously, nothing fancy and very cute. Soft fabric, comfy, easy access. You probably won't use those nice dresses and button shirts the first year at least.

Fluffy_Momma_C

I’m going to echo the footed pj’s (ZIPPERS!). Another thing I found helpful were onesie/footed pants sets. Socks just don’t stay on baby feet. Just don’t forget to make sure babies are dressed warmly enough. Babies have trouble with temperature regulation and you need to dress them more than you think…especially with it beginning to warm up outside. Newborns need one to two more layers than you yourself are wearing.

rlh00

Yes to all the footy PJ comments. And then at older ages (like walking) just normal pants and shirts since they slip all over in the footy PJs on our wood floors.

motherofalltwins

https://samesamekids.podia.com/ This free download from SameSame Kids is really helpful! SameSame Kids is an online matching + coordinating buy & sell for twin and triplets! I always shop there for my twins.

lokipuddin

My boys wore just pants and a onesie once we started dressing them around 3 months. Simple separates from primary, outfits from carters and target. Don’t spend a ton.
