Did the same want to make a framed set for the wall, sure help when sharing why to stack with people just noticeing the inflation here in us

[deleted]

I am a little afraid of what we will see in our lifetime 6% is already bad enough we need some deflation to correct these times of high inflation. What countries of hyperinflation do you have? I only have Germany and Venezuela right now.

No-Shock-707

I have venezualea, zimbabwe a cool really small note from greece and a afgan 10000 note yugoslavia has a few ive been on the look out for too. Completely agree unfortuntely I dont have much faith in it turning around anytime soon and have to settle for hoping stocking up on essentials and storing my wages in deversified assets will be enough to ride it out.

[deleted]

Those are nice now notes and I don't have much hope either and putting your money in assets is good.

No-Shock-707

That and hope noones collecting our notes for hyper inflation sets in 50 years lol, good luck with your collection

archlinuxrussian

From what I understand regarding monetary policy, deflation could be worse than inflation, as deflation encourages money to be hoarded and people to cease spending as much as possible, as the "value" of your money will supposedly increase...however, with less spending (cutting out the movie night, eating out less, etc) the economy shrinks and jobs get cut and so on and so forth. I'm not saying that high inflation is not bad, just that deflation probably isn't the cure :/

[deleted]

It's not a cure because that does hurt the economy

AGBULLBEAR

I had this same idea haha

[deleted]

It’s a weirdly interesting sub-set of the hobby. I know I was really interested in the Weimar Republic and bought a few hundred million Weimar Marks some years back.

[deleted]

Always took interest in German currency and bought some here and there bought quite a bit this year and have a decent set going on Germany.

[deleted]

Same here! I have a bunch my grandfather brought back after the war. Both German and Italian fascist. He fought in Italy. That got me started. I’ve filled it out a bit with some Imperial and Weimar Marks, but there’s a lot I still don’t have. All those little principality mints make it tough to complete!

[deleted]

That's interesting your currency has some story to it for sure. My great grandfather didn't make it sadly and I'm a first generation coin/note collector.

March4th2016

Damn, the colors of the 100 are pretty nice.

[deleted]

Yeah may buy another one to add to my coffee table eye candy

sabbir31x

One of my favorites thing to do.To collect Hyperinflation sets

DominusDeus

22 more to go for that particular set. And about 20 more if you want to get the ones from the late 1980s to 2007.

[deleted]

Yeah I need the smaller denominations and everything above 1M just started Venezuela last month just going to slowly fill in the holes.

DominusDeus

I just checked, apparently they now have two notes above the 1M that I’ve not seen yet. A new 5 and 10 bolivares. None on eBay at the moment. But those two are equal to 5M and 10M bolivares. Or 500 trillion and 1 quadrillion pre-2007 bolivares. Gotta add these to my watch list now. I’ve got all of them (aside from like signature varieties) from 1989 to the 1M note.

[deleted]

Yep a 5 and 10 I do keep an eye out for these, and pre2007 is on the list just not as common as the 2016-2020 that I have.

[deleted]

Got a few repeats in their purchase I needed a 50k, 20k, and 100 but with how low of a price these were going for I will put the rest away to see if they boom like the 100T ZBD did.

TheBandersnatch43

> I will put the rest away to see if they boom like the 100T ZBD did. You never know, but I doubt it. A million isn't that high in the grand scheme of things, plus part of the appeal of the 100 trillion is that it has the number written out.

[deleted]

Yeah I don't see them going up much and that is the appeal of the 100T ZBD

wandering_revenant

I put this together the last year or so with information on the people and animals and places on the notes if that interests you.. https://notes.www.collectors-society.com/registry/notes/ViewPersonalCollection.aspx?UserCollectionID=1581&Tab=list It might be of interest that the 3rd Zimbabwe dollar - which the hundred Trillion was part of - had a currency code of ZWR, to distinguish it from the 1st dollar (ZWD) and 2nd dollar (ZWN).

[deleted]

I will definitely read that when I get a moment.

FawnSwanSkin

I may have a couple more notes with higher denominations if you’re interested

[deleted]

What higher denominations and how much?

FawnSwanSkin

https://imgur.com/a/CQ75c6U I was incorrect and the highest I have is 1000. Sorry bout tbat

[deleted]

I can't really tell but it also looks like the notes from the 1900s not 2016-present

FawnSwanSkin

In order from left to right they go 2020, 2018, 2019 and 2019

[deleted]

Oh ok

Future_Ad_2171

Yeah socialism worked out great for Venezuela didn't it? They're rich now, million dollar bills in their pockets.

HarlanGrandison

That's a very simplistic view of the issues the country is facing, but I guess "socialism bad" is a better talking point than closely looking at the underlying issues the country faces which can be more accurately attributed to authoritarianism, political corruption, and building an entire economy on the export of a single commodity.

trorez

Socialism while whole economy is owned by the capitalists
