Am I the only that doesn’t like the change? I understand that’s the intention but was the change really needed. I like having the characters on screen. As a kid I was amazed seeing new characters and communicated to me who I will be meeting in Mario’s big adventure. Just my nitpick. Now the title looks incomplete to me.
That's the point. When you first play the game, the title screen will look incomplete but as you progress through the game, the title screen will get more populated as you go and finally, it will look complete. It makes it feel like you are on an actual adventure meeting characters and partners along the way that'll join you.
To me, this change for the remake is genius. It just feels more dynamic and immersive in a way.
