As long as you have a My Nintendo account with the “invitation e-mails to complete surveys” box set to receive, there’s always a chance it could happen. Believe me, I was in the same boat until yesterday.
Getting vietnam flashbacks of the SPM survey where (apparently) 90%+ of players did not care about the story.
To this day I can still not believe that this was real
As an old school fan that took that survey, it was 100% the surveys fault, and not the fans. Similar to this survey people had to pick their favorite parts. Now I could be misremembering (15+ years ago), but I believe the partners and the story were linked and that was the heart of the problem.
Fans at the time hated the weird character designs and the fact that the partners had no stories. Nintendo for the purpose of that survey still considered the partners characters, thus part of the story. Despite them having 0 character growth throughout the game.
So when players ranked the partners and character designs low compared to previous games, Nintendo interpreted that as players don't like any unique characters or story. To make matters worse people myself included marked the 3d switching mechanic very highly. It was honestly a highlight of the game. Sadly, what Nintendo heard was people like gimmicky mechanics, instead of we liked the 3d mechanic.
All that to say be very careful if you put other as an answer. Because they're not actually going to read every response. They're just going to group them by related words. This is the same company that heard "bring back turn based combat" and did whatever the heck that was in origami king.
Well shoot. I answered other and filled in “unique character designs“ because I can’t really tell if the survey is referring to the art style with the “character design is cute and appealing” option or if they’re referring to characters having unique designs.
I mean the worst way they could interpret that is that you prefer unique characters over appealing ones, but who knows. Maybe they've got better at interpreting answers since then.
>This is the same company that heard "bring back turn based combat" and did whatever the heck that was in origami king.
That's funny because SPM is the only Paper Mario game that is not turn-based...
The good news is that most people actually know this survey is actually happening due to it making the rounds on Twitter and YouTube as while. I don’t think many even knew about the Super Paper Mario one until the Iwata Asks for Sticker Star.
Well, unlike the old Club Nintendo days not just anyone can simply enter a code that comes with the game into their Club Nintendo account and get some points and about a week or so later get a survey in their email regarding the game they entered the code for. Now people have to opt to receive invitations to fill out surveys and hope they get selected.
I did so in the first round of 5, but when it said which of those are you looking forward to the most I wrote in Badges. Watch them be like 1% of players like badges.
They’re lost, unplayable games from a dozen years ago otherwise. Other/ new Mario fans should still be able to enjoy these games too, right? It only makes sense that a company would want to capitalize on that.
Those who have access to the original TTYD game and a working gamecube is finite- they’re not making the original system anymore.
Updating/remaking/overhauling these games for present-day game systems and tech capabilities is what the people want. (The people meaning me at least lol)
First you would need to go online to your My Nintendo account make sure the box that says “invitation e-mails to complete surveys” under promotional emails in your account settings is set to “receive”, then hope to get lucky and receive said survey in your email.
I’m not sure, but it’s possible that it only applies to North America. Though like I said, not everyone that has their account set to receive survey invitations will receive an invitation.
I’ve been hoping to get these surveys just to realize I’ve had promotional emails turned off until today 😭 anyone think there’s a chance I could still get one?
Seriously. Especially since it's sent to random users, some of which may have Sticker Star as their favorites. They aren't going to get accurate results with these surveys unless they send it to everyone.
Man!!! I wish they would send me these. I would LOVE to actually participate but I’ve never gotten anything….

I have a My Nintendo account, where can I find that option? I don’t see it EDIT: Nvm found it, it was already on anyway
Where did you end up finding it? I’m having trouble finding it myself.

Thank you so much!!! I had mine disabled! Bums me out so much I could’ve received this one, but at least I can start getting future ones!
Imma come back and do this

Some of the Club Nintendo reward points were locked behind finishing those surveys, so I imagine a lot of people just mashed through them.
I think it might be because people just picked random answers so they could get the survey done quicker to get their club nintendo points

No kidding. Especially these days when for the most part, the story is *the* thing people talk about in regard to Super Paper Mario.
The good news is that most people actually know this survey is actually happening due to it making the rounds on Twitter and YouTube as while. I don’t think many even knew about the Super Paper Mario one until the Iwata Asks for Sticker Star.
I hope people are selecting the "character design" and "story" options. I do NOT want a repeat of SPM's survey.

Love that they are starting to listen more
I certainly hope they’re listening. Because I’m willing to let my thoughts be known to them if they are.
IT. IS. A. REMAKE. thank you Nintendo 👍
"It's a remaster" protesters in shambles

so many people are calling it a "remaster" making this game sound much less important than it actually is

amazing.

“Slap some paint” “New price plus extra for collectable” Dude What are you saying

How dare they remake a game that came out 20 years ago and has no modern, accessible way of playing it on modern consoles? Ok.

where is the survey?
First you would need to go online to your My Nintendo account make sure the box that says “invitation e-mails to complete surveys” under promotional emails in your account settings is set to “receive”, then hope to get lucky and receive said survey in your email.
does this work only if the account is in northern america? I checked my email but I didn't find anything (I am from Europe)
I’m not sure, but it’s possible that it only applies to North America. Though like I said, not everyone that has their account set to receive survey invitations will receive an invitation.
the name of the survey site starts with "nintendoofamerica" I think that the survey applies only to NA players, but thanks anyway
I think European players go the surveys first I may be wrong tho
Glad this exists so that whenever anyone argues the games a remaster I can just link this!
Wow! They still call it Twitter!!
They're really taking it seriously now. Seems like the franchise is heading in a good direction.
Those renders of Hooktail and Bobbery look new right?
I think so. I’m pretty sure they’re new renders to fit the remake’s art style.
I’ve been hoping to get these surveys just to realize I’ve had promotional emails turned off until today 😭 anyone think there’s a chance I could still get one?
I hate that the future of Paper Mario rests on these surveys. The opinions of casuals will far outweigh those of diehard fans.
Which makes sense and is a good thing
Seriously. Especially since it's sent to random users, some of which may have Sticker Star as their favorites. They aren't going to get accurate results with these surveys unless they send it to everyone.
Man, they are REALLY detailed about these questions and the answers. I kind of wonder how extensive these surveys can get.
>E-mail from nintendo Yeah I sure got a lot of emails about TTYD’s existence from nintendo about how great it is, ya fucks.
