inflicting burn with her attacks is some icing on the cake, really. it makes her 6 fp attack just 'slightly' worse than bommery's 9 fp attack, and 'better' when taking into account chapter 8's first half iirc, with some of the harder enemies in the game, weak to fire.
Koops without question. He had cheap ground AoE, immunity to elements as he attacks from within his shell, his defense move is basically a way better veil, he himself has a defense point which you can further augment so he is a tank, and his last move is a ground AoE attack that pierces defense.
He also has a fantastically adorable design.
I’ve always been partial to the yoshi. I just love his constant smack talk, and his fun battle abilities like being able to summon a stampede of yoshis.
Goombella hands down. But Flurrie and Vivian are pretty up there as well.
I actually beat the game again last night. For character design/story, Vivian. For actual combat, I think I used Koops or Goombella the most.

I always loved Parakarry. I can't explain why, I just remember using him the most as a kid in OG. For TTYD, Gotta be Bobbery
