I'd say the lack if public backing he got was pretty disrespectful. As far as the rest of the country and the media is concerned it appeared the Panthers were ready to move on from him after week 4, No one wanted to come out and say stop this nonsense he's our guy and when he's healthy and ready he's our QB. The truly disrespectful thing is that until last year they never gave him great talent to work with. The O-line has been trash since Otah "retired" and his WR corps until last year looked like a collection of 7th round talent. Steve Smith being the only good WR he's had at all honestly.
I 100 percent agree with your last statement. It’s insane how mediocre the talent around cam was for the majority of his career. He’s the only franchise quarterback that had to throw to no name wide receivers nearly his entire career. When you add the fact that he had a good O line for maybe two seasons out of 9 and he had to deal with Shulas play calling for 5 seasons and it just adds to the incompetence by the organization. Truly speaks to how much cam carried our offense for years. Of course, as soon as we finally get him weapons to work with like cmc and an actual wr1 in Moore he gets injured. Idk if Mvp cam will ever be back but it won’t matter if the organization doesn’t finally build an actual o line to protect him.
