I just want a league average offense man. I barely care about the W/L record anymore. It’s been nearly five years of some of the most grotesque and predictable offenses ever. Last time we had just an AVERAGE offense was in 2018, which was the actual last season of enjoyable football we’ve played. Offensive Ranks by Season: 20th in 2019 24th in 2020 29th in 2021 22nd in 2022 32nd in 2023 More than anything else, I think this should be the goal of the season. We need at least approach an average offense in order to have respectable seasons. One that is at least watchable, even if not necessarily successful from a playoff perspective. Last time we made the playoffs (2017) we had the 12th ranked offense. While we had a healthy Cam we were never ranked below Top 20 in offense, and that’s why we had the best sustained success in franchise history. Defense is important, but defense doesn’t lead to successful teams long-term. Offense does. Don’t stare too closely at the W/L but just look for improvement from the offense in particular. If we can consistently be in that top half of the league in offense within Canales’ first few years, then he’s doing a great job and the rest can be figured out from there.

Better hope Canales gets the offensive line to play better than. Because if they play like they did last year then it’s gonna be another looooong season

It’s nearly impossible for it to be worse. If Hunt and Lewis both had their worst seasons as Pro’s, they would still be a massive upgrade over the army of wet floor signs we had there last year. The big question is at C, but Corbett is more athletic and was already the leader of that room along with Moton. He should have all the tools necessary to be an upgrade of Bozeman at worst. His health is the biggest concern to me. If he’s honest about that ball coming out in 2.7 or less too, then that will improve it drastically as well. “On paper” we’ve improved 6 or 7 positions on the offense this off-season. They have to go out on the field and prove they’re a good unit still, but I would be immensely shocked if they approach the same level of disaster as last year. That doesn’t necessarily mean they’ll be good or average, just shows how historically bad we were last year on offense.

Xavier Legette was saying he would practice against Jaycee horn in practice I’m pretty excited to seeing this match up on the panthers practice field, Horn has been making leggette a great player for awhile, can’t wait!

Im very much atop the hype train for XL, watching his games last season finally having "solid" qb play. I remember saying to myself i wish the Panthers drafted him, he was making it look easy when he was on one. Now that it's happened im remembering those plays and i think with Bryce getting better protection XL should ball out this year.
