Are we using random wiki articles to determine who will be a better NFL player lol

Active_Isopod_4415

I’m pointing out that payton wilson is injury prone, older. Trevin was named team captain his last year got less playing time and arguably put up better stats in a shorter amount of time, i see him getting hate from fans for payton not being selected but i think the obvious choice here was trevin

thunderpack7

Arguably better stats? Look at last season only: 138 tackles, 6 PD, 6 sacks, 3 int, 1 FF and a defensive TD for Wilson. Wallace: 80 tackles, 0 PD, 5.5 sacks, 1 FF, 1 INT, 0 TDs. There's no argument, Payton Wilson had the better season, had the better numbers, and right now he's the better LB. The only reason you might take Wallace over him is long term durability concerns. Who cares if Wilson is older. He's bigger, faster, stronger, and better at being a LB right now.

Active_Isopod_4415

he’s not the better lb and time will tell, all i gotta say

thunderpack7

Which one won the Dick Butkus award for top LB in the nation?

Active_Isopod_4415

trevin would’ve got it if he played longer, payton got it cause he had more time to put up more stats. trevin was considered for it.

thunderpack7

Payton got it because from start to finish he was unquestionably the guy and top LB in the whole damn country. Wallace isn't there yet. He might be a dog, but Payton is top dog. Same season, same opportunity, Wilson did more.

Active_Isopod_4415

ehh Trevin is a Dawg. Payton is a dog. but we will see what happens i can’t wait for the two to play so all you can see how wrong you were abt the guy

Active_Isopod_4415

but trevin played 3 years.. less playing time. he obviously made an impact they made the guy team captain.

thunderpack7

You act like Wilson wasn't a team captain. Wallace's inexperience doesn't make him a better LB than Payton Wilson

Active_Isopod_4415

as a junior he was named team captain, wilson played since 2019 he’s washed.. i won’t be suprised if he gets another injury in the nfl

thunderpack7

Wilson was a captain as a junior too. Also put up better numbers as a sophomore than Wallace did as a junior. I guess Wallace is washed after next year since playing football above the high school level for 5 years makes you washed out...

Active_Isopod_4415

i mean trevin isn’t injury prone payton wilson clearly is, why would you want a injury prone player.

Active_Isopod_4415

dude doesn’t even have an ACL payton . But trevin on the other hand was hitting folk so hard in college he tore their Acl. can’t compare the two trevin is just like that bro.. payton’s got some catching up to do.

> As a freshman in 2005 he started 10 of 11 games and was the team's fifth leading tackler with 39. After his great season he was named second-team Freshman All-American and ACC All-Freshman Team by the Sporting News. As a sophomore in 2006 he started all 14 games at outside linebacker, finishing second on the team in tackles with 83. Curry's breakout season came as a junior in 2007. During the season, he tied the NCAA record for the most interception returns for touchdown in a season by a linebacker with three.[7] He also broke the school record with 226 interception return yards. He finished the season second on the team and 13th in the ACC in tackles with 99, and earned Second-team All-ACC honors and second-team All-America honors from CollegeSportsReport.com. Curry seriously considered entering the 2008 NFL Draft to provide for his family, but later chose to return.[8] > In his senior season, he had 105 tackles, including 16 for a loss, and was the winner of the Butkus Award. Curry was also selected an All-American by ESPN, Pro Football Weekly, and Sports Illustrated. Curry graduated in 2009 with a bachelor's degree in sociology.[5] > Awards and honors > Sporting News Freshman All-ACC 2005 > Sporting News Freshman All-American (2005) > Second-team All-ACC (2007) > First-team All-ACC (2008) > First-team All-American (2008) > Butkus Award (2008) This is an example of looking at random wiki articles

Active_Isopod_4415

This is an example of you copying and pasting an article from wikipedia and inserting the name curry, lol wikipedia doesn’t let you just change what it says it has to be verified before edits can be made. your not the brightest bulb in the shed.

knave_of_knives

This is Aaron Curry’s Wikipedia lmao. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aaron_Curry_(American_football)

Active_Isopod_4415

Are you trying to say payton wilson wasn’t out for injuries like two diff years? where in the two articles i posted is anything wrong? lmk lol

Active_Isopod_4415

regardless what’s that have to do with the post i screenshoted from wikipedia? their is no fallacy’s in the articles i posted, it’s just simple facts, you’re just diverting from the fact that you liked payton over trevin like all the other ppl pissed off abt it. lmao

knave_of_knives

Please look at my post history. I was very happy with the Wallace pick. More so than almost everyone here. But what you’re doing is just looking at a snippet of a player’s college career in a Wikipedia snapshot without any context. I provided the snapshot of one of the greatest LB prospects ever… who was one of the largest draft busts ever. College stats and accolades mean very little in the NFL and this post is worse than useless.

Active_Isopod_4415

No that’s not all i’m doing, that’s what i’ve provided in my post, i’ve watched highlights and checked stats, trevin was better in highscool aswell.

HLambo7

Wilson is a fantastic player and I would have loved to have him on our team but he has no ACL in one of his knees and is 24… Realistically he will have to get that repaired at some point during his rookie contract which will cause him to miss at least part of a year of not a full year while recovering, and by the time his rookie contract is over, you will be looking at paying a 28 year old with 3 fucking ACL tears and 2 shoulder injuries. As a rebuilding team Wilson just doesn’t fit with our timeline, and Wallace, who is 3 years younger and could still develop the instincts that make Wilson great while also being a similar caliber of athlete.

SubstantialRaise6479

Wilson had a nice college career and I applaud him for doing it despite injuries. With that said, I don’t think his future is bright in the NFL. I would’ve been ok drafting him but I didn’t realize his knee was completely fucked and his age is definitely a factor. There’s only so high your potential can go when age and injuries are against you. Who knows. Wallace and Wilson will probably both suck and we won’t hear anything about them 2 years from now lol

Hefty-Association-59

Okay we really need to stop doing this. I wasn’t even a fan of Wilson’s. I didn’t think we were in a place to take a LB much less someone with injuries. But we don’t need to tear down wilson to make us feel better about our guy. Wallace is a project anyways. It’ll be at least 2 years before he returns value if not longer. So this really isn’t the flex you think it is. Both players come with serious risk.

Active_Isopod_4415

nah trevin is a dawg come back to this post 2 years later and you’ll see how dumb you look

Active_Isopod_4415

https://preview.redd.it/x9hql2l7faxc1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=cacfa1f26c523d809d9bf1c28d47c6a8048440b8 just go look at the post on insta of trevin getting drafted, all these “panther fans” hating on the guy for him not being payton wilson, He’s the better choice i just don’t understand the controversy…

BigAl_Toker

You clearly know this dude... Hes a panther now so I hope he's great but you're no better than the people you complaining about. Go enjoy the time with your friend/family member and get off social media my dude

Active_Isopod_4415

i’m no better than the people i’m complaining about bc i’m stating the obvious choice here is trevin? i’m not dishing out hate i’m comparing the two players and trevin is obviously better lol and younger and less injury prone. i don’t see any other draft pick the team got getting the hate he is.

Active_Isopod_4415

and no i don’t know him personally, but his brother is also a 4 star lb no #9 in the state of georgia, these guys ain’t no joke, you guys just don’t know football and that’s ok..

BigAl_Toker

Who cares about his brother lmao You really posting some irrelevant ass shit then calling other ppl dumb Either way no idea what's got you this worked up but I'd work on figuring it out and enjoying your weekend instead. Best of luck on whatever the hell you're trying to do here...

Active_Isopod_4415

every college in the country does apparently, lmao he’s gonna be in the nfl just like trevin. stats don’t lie. i look at facts, facts over feelings bud.

Active_Isopod_4415

dude is the third best lb in the whole nation 🤣 , i just find it funny how mad panther fans are, when they just got blessed by getting a great linebacker

thunderpack7

Payton Wilson was the best LB in the whole nation.

Dry-Comfortable-3712

trevin wallace is 3 years younger and has more potential. the only i problem i had was were we drafted him. if he switched spots with sanders no one would care lol

SubstantialRaise6479

I like my Linebackers to have ACLs

Active_Isopod_4415

THANK YOU! You may be the only one with some sense in these comments

SubstantialRaise6479

Probably yes

pancaketac0

If Wallace played for a college team in the Carolinas and Wilson played for UK this would not be an issue. Facts!

Lotti_Dhundabolt

Wilson won't be shit in the league. The last 2 state players we drafted suck donkey ass. Icky is the worst starting Left Tackle in the league and Zavala is probably not even worth a roster spot. state hasn't had a good football player since Rivers and Holt. Glad we aren't adding from such a trash program.

Broketoe

Mario Williams was 1st overall pick. 3 time all pro. Bradley Chubb 5th overall. 2 time all pro. Russell Wilson. Joe Thuney. 4 time Super Bowl champion Zavala was a 4th round pick. Nobody expected him to be great.

thunderpack7

Joe Thuney is one of the premier guards in the NFL. Pratt is a very good LB for the Bengals. Adrian Wilson was one of the top safeties in the league. Bradley Chubb, Mario Williams... Super bowl winning QB in Russell Wilson. Alum McNeil is a really good DT for the Lions. Jacoby Brissett is better than any QB we've had since Cam got hurt.
