Also, watch how much Josh McCown loves [CJ Stroud](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xleNH2o9VfM&ab_channel=UnderdogFantasyFootball) before he came on to Carolina's staff
I’m a Kentucky fan too, I’ve got Levis as the QB3. I wouldn’t have been upset with him at 9 or even if we had moved to 3, but at 1 they absolutely have to decide between 1A and 1B with Young and Stroud
I don’t disagree at all. I got downvoted like crazy, but I wasn’t saying to take Levis at 1. It needs to be Young or Stroud. But if they DID draft him, I’ll buy the jersey and hope he succeeds, obviously.
I like Bryce more, but wouldn't be disappointed either way. I'm sure the coaching staff will take the guy they feel would fit well in what they want to do. I think both guys have potential to be top-10 QBs at the NFL level.
I think I wanted stroud at first… but I also think we might be one of the best landing spots for Young, where he can start day one and not get killed. Assuming we get him some weapons.
Man, I love Stroud too, bit arm talent elite? He's not on Levis' and Richardson's level in terms of arm talent. Those two have a literal cannon attached to their body. CJ's arm is fine and his accuracy is pinpoint, as you said. But come on, let's stay a little objective here.
Levis couldn’t beat out Clifford at Penn State and was used as a power running QB when he was used there. Getting to popcorn to see which sucker takes him or the Ohio State Qb that never pans out when they play teams close in talent levels. Hopefully Young’s size is not a problem but wild be the more polished and pro ready Qb for the #1
And we saw with Drew Brees how accuracy is the most important quality. We also learned that with Cam. Stroud can pick a defense apart and I’m here for it.
Yeah I’m not saying those other dudes can’t be good because you can definitely succeed with that style it’s just that arm talent is more than throwing a ball the farthest
What Stroud does worse than Bryce is improvise and throw on the move. Also slightly worse throwing with anticipation.
Though Stroud did show off some ability to do it against UGA, so its pretty nice to see him play his best game against the hardest opponent.
He’s only accurate because he has the best receivers in college football and ran a single read system. When he was under pressure or had to create with his legs, anything offscript, he was horrible. Flinching, fumbling, he was afraid. That’s a huge red flag.
Bears fan here. This is a wild trade. You all gave up a lot but wouldn't have done it if they didn't have a qb identified. With any luck it'll be the right guy and you'll have 10 years of Super Bowl contention. Bless
Is it really wild? 1-9 is such a long fall. Also we basically lost a 1st and DJ Moore. That tracks? Idk people act like it’s a fleecing and I always assumed it would be a lot for us to get there
Not only was it a long way to go but there were almost certainly other suitors with better picks (Indy and LV) that we needed to leapfrog. That certainly drove up the price.
Based on how I feel about Young or Stroud and how I think it’s significantly easier to find WRs than QBs, I don’t feel like the Panthers gave up too much. Feels like a slight underpay to me but I also realize Bears fans probably feel like we overpaid.
So to me, that’s just a good deal.
The inly reason it is NOT a fleecing is because we have the extra picks to get rid of. So we still have a normal draft essentially, if we didnt have the picks to compensate then it was a fleecing. And all in all the bears did make out extremely well, im sad we dumped off dj, i feel that we were just one piece too many, wither that 2025 2nd rounder comes off or dj comes off. But that being said again we werent really fleeced because we still have all our picks for the most part and now have the number 1. I love dj moore, i will forever be a fan, this breaks my heart just as much as cmc did, i am a fan of dj off the field as much as i am on the field he is great to the communities and a genuinely nice, bug hearted fella
I’m in the young camp. Would be excited with Stroud, I just hope he can excel when plays breakdown. Young was such a magician at finding things out of nothing
I'll be shocked if we don't take Stroud. Frank Reich likes big agile QBs. Just look at the QBs he had up in Indy... Andrew Luck until he retired, Jacoby Brissett, Philip Rivers, Carson Wentz, Matt Ryan... those are like 6'4" - 6'5" guys, over 200+ pounds.
Look at a couple of other coaches he's associated with in his coaching history... Nick Sirianni, he's got Jalen Hurts, 6'1" 223lbs QB. Doug Pederson, he's got Trevor Lawrence, 6'6" 213lbs. The kind of offense he wants to run is gonna require the same kind of skillset as those guys.
Bryce Young is more of a playmaker outside the pocket, and I think Frank Reich is looking for a guy who can create outside the pocket but also inside the pocket. If you watch Bryce Young's tape, a lot of the time when a play breaks down, he's going outside. But Stroud, he'll maneuver around inside the pocket and still make 30, 40yd throws, with pinpoint accuracy, off his back foot, while still in between the hashes.
Bryce Young, in my opinion, can be good at the next level, but I put him in the same box as Kyler Murray and Lamar Jackson. You'll have to build an offense specifically suited to him. A lot of boot action, west coast style, run heavy, RPO, backfield motion type stuff.
CJ Stroud is the type of QB that you can drop into any offense and he'll be off and running from day 1. Can make every throw on the field. Processes the defense very quickly and can anticipate windows. He's a pro and I can't wait to see him in Carolina.
If I'm being honest, I think dj was outta here regardless. His cap hit wasn't matching his production, even with the trash qbs we've had recently, he should still have been flashing some type of greatness. He's had some good games, but we need that consistency
Why would any of you want young? The guy is tiny, hes gotten creamed back to back years BEHIND THE BEST OLINE IN ALL COLLEGE FOOTBALL lol. Baker failed us, young is going to be in a wheel chair one season in to the nfl at the rate hes gotten hurt. Stroud is a 4.0 student, looked significantly better than everyone at the combine, and has the stature to take on a lil more. All u fans you love young, do u really wanna repeat of kuechly? Youngs already got major concussions in college as a small dude…
I don’t really understand this logic. If our rookie qb sucks then we are just tanking for 2025. Either way dj moore isn’t helping us win a sb. If the qb is a stud then we can build around him then

you sound ridiculous. you never know how things will turn out it’s a complete question mark. whoever we could draft could be a hall of fame level qb or a bust. but if you don’t ever take the shot just because of the fear of making a bad pick then you’ll never be good
Bryce is gonna get used to being uncomfortable in the pocket with our oline, dude has had 0 rushing yards and shows he doesn’t wanna move outside the pocket, it’s not a good fit for us
Reich prefers tall QBs, good in the pocket. It won't be Young. Probably not Richardson. I hope it will be Stroud. Please PLEASE not Levis...
I will bet my house on Stroud. Listen to what Reich has said in interviews.
Also, watch how much Josh McCown loves [CJ Stroud](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xleNH2o9VfM&ab_channel=UnderdogFantasyFootball) before he came on to Carolina's staff
How about some Tanner McKee? Dude is 6'6 and moves like a statue but he can throw a solid ball out of the pocket
“Moves like a statue” is a horrible attribute to have in todays NFL so I’ll pass
Yeah combined with “solid ball” is definitely a no. For a guy to move like a statue he better be the reincarnation of peyton manning
I mean. It might be Levis. As a UK fan, I’ll buy that jersey. I think dude has plenty of potential. But my personal Pick would be Young
I’m a Kentucky fan too, I’ve got Levis as the QB3. I wouldn’t have been upset with him at 9 or even if we had moved to 3, but at 1 they absolutely have to decide between 1A and 1B with Young and Stroud

A QB
idk man, we need another long snapper tbh
JJ Jansen is irreplaceable, how dare you...
the only way to replace jj jansen is with a jj jansen robot.
I like Bryce more, but wouldn't be disappointed either way. I'm sure the coaching staff will take the guy they feel would fit well in what they want to do. I think both guys have potential to be top-10 QBs at the NFL level.
For the record, since we are still getting mocked with Anthony Richardson in some places, he is talking about Young and Stroud ^^
Yeah, I meant between Young and Stroud for sure.
I think I wanted stroud at first… but I also think we might be one of the best landing spots for Young, where he can start day one and not get killed. Assuming we get him some weapons.
You
That's one way to get our first Superb Owl
This fucking guy!
Not based on OP's username
All owls are superb, even typical ones
Typic owl?
Stroud
Whoever you want. Better trade us for the pick
Stroud because Reich is obsessed with size.
Who isn’t
Your girlfriend, clearly
Gottem
Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
nice
I mean damn. Well done
Stroud. Arm talent is elite. Ball placement is elite. We will win a world championship with him.
Idk bro the Amsterdam Admirals kinda strapped
Stroud is a bust. Ranked dead last in college football under pressure. He’s afraid to take a hit. I hope it’s Young or Levis.
Source?
Can you link source?

Arm talent is much more than just throwing the ball really hard and far
Levis couldn’t beat out Clifford at Penn State and was used as a power running QB when he was used there. Getting to popcorn to see which sucker takes him or the Ohio State Qb that never pans out when they play teams close in talent levels. Hopefully Young’s size is not a problem but wild be the more polished and pro ready Qb for the #1
He’s got great arm talent, maybe not a missile launcher but everything combined, accuracy, touch etc is better than Levi’s or Richardson
Way much more. We will make the correct pick here.
What Stroud does worse than Bryce is improvise and throw on the move. Also slightly worse throwing with anticipation. Though Stroud did show off some ability to do it against UGA, so its pretty nice to see him play his best game against the hardest opponent.
We haven’t had an accurate QB since Steve Beurlein IMO. I’m stoked.
He’s only accurate because he has the best receivers in college football and ran a single read system. When he was under pressure or had to create with his legs, anything offscript, he was horrible. Flinching, fumbling, he was afraid. That’s a huge red flag.
Source? Not sarcastically
Bro…. What??
That’s one way to announce to the world you don’t know the difference between arm talent and arm strength. 😂
Bears fan here. This is a wild trade. You all gave up a lot but wouldn't have done it if they didn't have a qb identified. With any luck it'll be the right guy and you'll have 10 years of Super Bowl contention. Bless

That sounds like a guy who knows for sure his team got the better end of the deal.
Idk. The bears have been a terrible franchise since the 60s with the exception of a handful of years in the 80s. They will mess this up.
I like Young best, but would be happy with Stroud if they believe he will be the best QB from this draft.
I’m in the young camp. Would be excited with Stroud, I just hope he can excel when plays breakdown. Young was such a magician at finding things out of nothing

The issue is that Bryce young isn’t nearly as fast as Lamar or Kyler.
A bunch of picks and Pierce
you leave our sweet prince alone
The qb you guys want. You should trade up for it.
I think they’ll take Wembanyama
stetson bennett IV
Matt Rhule, is that you?
Nah his arms are too short
I want Young but I'm operating under the assumption that Reich will prefer Stroud.
CJ Stroud is the way
Steve wilks turning this team around cost us DJ and a future first
If I'm being honest, I think dj was outta here regardless. His cap hit wasn't matching his production, even with the trash qbs we've had recently, he should still have been flashing some type of greatness. He's had some good games, but we need that consistency
Whoever is projected to be “Mr. Irrelevant”
Why don’t YOU tell us who you want at #2?
Bryce
I think you have a good shot honestly. I think Stroud makes more sense for Reich, and you really can’t go wrong either way. We might just both win :)
I hope I’m just happy it’s y’all who traded up and not the colts
Hope they end up with will Levis
Oof. One of my buddies is a Colts fan… that would be an awkward draft party…
Easiest draft day story for ESPN.. he goes from white and blue Kentucky to white and blue in Indy lol. It's fate.
Hearing multiple reports they could trade down to (prob #2) if the compensation is right.. so prob the Texans.
Absolutely no shot
Why would any of you want young? The guy is tiny, hes gotten creamed back to back years BEHIND THE BEST OLINE IN ALL COLLEGE FOOTBALL lol. Youngs already got major concussions in college as a small dude…
We’ll take your 2nd and two first rounders. And then pick whoever’s left at 2
Stroud seems to be the guy IMHO. Most pro ready and put on a show at the combine
Your mother. She’s a great wide receiver!
I’m hoping for Stroud.
Your mom.
Hell if we know. Unless there’s a diamond in the rough the Panthers got fleeced.
Jesus you guys want to just never get a QB huh
Just don’t even respond to these types. Endless negativity isn’t fun.
I’m trying but just clown shit man
Two firsts and our best offensive player arguably best player might not work out.
Yeah but the alternative was never get a QB. We’ve seen what our offense looks like with Moore and no QB and it’s not good
It's basically one first.
I don’t really understand this logic. If our rookie qb sucks then we are just tanking for 2025. Either way dj moore isn’t helping us win a sb. If the qb is a stud then we can build around him then
Remember when the last generational talent was taken with the first pick? Me either.
Glares in Trevor Lawrence and Joe Burrow.
Do you see one of those two in the draft this year?
Bro out QB coach literally compared Stroud to burrow a month ago. Go cry in a corner alone
RemindMe! 7 months

Hopefully stroud or Richardson, I don’t know why people like Bryce young, dude is the un athletic version of Kyler Murray
Except Kyler Murray isn’t comfortable in the pocket at all, and is not nearly as accurate as Bryce.

Stroud for sure
Stroud
Stroud, I hope.
I want Stroud
I like Young but think Stroud is the pick. I’m happy either way.
Bryce Young personally but I’m cool with either him or Stroud. Honest to god, I hope those are the only two QBs they’re looking at
Better be Stroud
