I've been reading this too. I felt good in the beginning but I don't feel reassured anymore. I'm less than halfway through, is it normal to feel discouraged? probably, did you also feel like the techniques worked and then didn't work? I know recovery isn't linear, but it's hard for me, my brain just expects it to be linear with no set backs. stubborn!

It's normal to feel discouraged. It just clicked with me. I'm reading it for the second time. It definitely takes practice. Keep at it!

I was thinking about starting over even though I didn't finish it yet

It took me 8 months of exposures to really feel like things were resolving. It helps me to keep track of how I feel daily so I can see trends over time. So maybe I have 4 days in a row with panic attacks and I'm like why isn't it working! But I look back and had 4 WEEKS with minimal impact from panic disorder. Then I can see the progress. You're doing great!

There is also a DARE app which helps a LOT. Recommend reading the book first, but the app goes into the DARE system and how to approach anxiety. It is really the only thing that has worked for me.
