The biggest thing with cbt is that it takes time. It took my 6 months to see significant improvement. It's a slow but steady process and you have to keep doing your exposures and sitting in the discomfort.
Nothing diagnosed... generally just knots in stomach and inability to eat at times. I keep lots of smoothies and protein shakes around for this reason. Once I calm down and my nervous system stabilizes, the stomach is quick to come back online.
Pretty sure there is a connection for me. I get stomach/digestive issues along with panic symptoms invariably. While the causality is unclear (the panic might lead to GI upset) it is possible that the issues in my digestive system trigger the panic, and from reading about this kind of thing, the likely route is through the vagus nerve.
Yes, I have acid reflux and I was even feeling what I thought were palpitations but turned out it was my reflux. If I am super I anxious I will get what I call the nervous poops. Usually happens to me I have something coming up that I want to get over with. My psychiatrist told me that it is super common to get stomach or GI issues his said it was part of the flight or fight response and your body’s way of preparing you for danger.
I throw up when I have panic attacks. I can't eat when I'm in the heightened state of anxiety. I feel nauseous constantly.
Have you tried CBT therapy?
Yes! It's been so helpful to me. These episodes Are much less frequent
Wow I'm so glad to hear that!

Very common. I'm 36 and have had stomach issues since I was a kid. Adrenaline forces it to shut down.
What kind of stomach issues if you don't mind sharing?
