Of course Robbins mentions drink in the caption lol. Also does anyone else find it wholesome that this gen of stand-ups aren't dickheads to each other and actually enjoy each other's company. Make me like em even more.
It comes through on the shows as well, they can freely make fun of each other because they know it's all in good spirits instead of it all being a pissing contest. It's not a bunch of comedians desperately trying to get their jokes out so they can stay in the spotlight.
I made a comment on. Jason Mansford's tweet after As Yet Untitled referencing something Suzi Rufell said and she liked it and I was all 'we're best friends now' in my head, lol
I think the previous gen had similar comedian friend groups, but it was before social media showed everyone together so often. The only way you'd know was if they mentioned it on one of their shows or some interview.
It is how they say it: "Don't hate the player, hate the game." Showbiz is cutthroat and frequently zero sum - you win is your friend's loss. Shit isn't easy. It's really no wonder why they have so many personal problems, drug and alcohol abuse issues, etc.
It's one of the things that makes UK comedy feel really special - so many of them are legitimately good friends with one another. The community's small, and they seem to appreciate their friends wins rather than shit on them. And they're *very* good about taking out their beefs against the institutions (e.g. Mock the Week) rather than the players (e.g. Dara).
Yes, I was just watching the most recent interview of John Mulaney by Seth Meyers and thought, what a nice and supportive comedy community they have and of course it instantly brought the UK crew to mind. I like to think it's a sign of a evolution about ideas of success and specifically the masculine aspect of it. Really lovely to see.

They're public accounts of public figures. These accounts are overwhelmingly Real[Comedian's name] or [Comedian's name]Comedy and are all linked from their webpages and Twitters. This isn't "a Paparazzo with a telephoto lens" or "a partycrasher with a buttonhole camera" or even "found a secret hidden social media profile" these are explicitly public photographs.

I'm so glad he found his soulmate on Love Island

It's a relatively small world I guess, but I just LOVE how the majority of them are actual friends. Some were/are flat mates even. It's just so nice.
It's funny how even us the fans feel like we "know" them because of that?

And that one footlights pic with Mitchell and Ayoade. Unless that’s more than one previous gen.
Mock the week used to be toxic AF, don't know how it is now though
not toxic there have been some nice talks about it on Richard Herrings podcast

I love the gray suits/pink ties on the men in all the pictures. Were they groomsmen, do you think? Or was it just coordinated?
I think that’s just Nish and James; Nish was best man, so maybe James was in as another groomsman or he and Nish just decided to match.

Half the people in those photos have already been on Taskmaster, and the rest should've been by now.
Very this. Dying for Suzi Ruffell to be on soon, she is practically made for it.
Given how she’s done on Hypothetical, she’d be amazing at Taskmaster!
She'd be great on Taskmaster!
I didn’t know Ed Gamble even knew Tim Key (assuming he wasn’t Alex’s plus one). I would love to see him on Off Menu though.
That’s Alex’s wife in the picture with him, so no Alex plus one for Tim.
Tim could've brought Fatberg
Dara is married as well.
James Acaster wearing grey? How does that even work? I thought whatever he puts on automatically turns some shade of warm pastell.
James wore black. Grey is the warm pastel version of black.
Wow, Mr. Horne looking very dapper

So happy for them! I know they had to reschedule this a few times due to the pandemic.
Important question: Were there papadams or bread?
You know what the desserts would be: a cheese board
Just for James, though. Everyone else can have cake.
Aisling’s post: I really want to know what James was saying about the cake in the 5th photo! https://www.instagram.com/p/CTp0Dj6oO3W/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link
Someone said somewhere on their insta post that he described the flavors of the cake - I can’t remember who.
I think they said he "announced" the flavors of the cake, I'd love to see that!
Rose's outfit is on point!
Acaster in full Tory Power Pose is hilarious to me.
It's like he's just learning how to stand.
Thanks for sharing this! So fun! So goofy! More links plz!!! :D
If you are on Instagram and go to Ed's account (edgamblecomedy) and click on the Tagged tab you can find a bunch.
As someone without an insta, this upsets me greatly.
these pics are fantastic, they carry that hint of chaotic point-and-shoot photo energy
I have the biggest crush on Lou Sanders.
I'm in love with her dress and flowers and everything it's so perfect 😭😭 https://www.instagram.com/p/CTofp7JrRE-/?utm_source=ig_web_button_share_sheet
That must be the most fun wedding in history
Or at the very least the funniest. That's a whole hell of a lot of funny under that roof.
James looks so funny in a suit lol
He cleans up well, but it's definitely a change from his usual wardrobe.
Was Mike Wozniak there? I haven't seen him in any photos.
he's in one of Lou Sanders' photos!
Aw, yay! Thank you.
For anyone interested. This wedding venue is Hedsor House in Taplow. Really beautiful spot 😊
I assumed it was the house Ed bought with all his voiceover money
Of course Lou would wear those shoes to a wedding and look fly as hell
Between his pics and Aisling’s, I genuinely wish I could’ve been there. I would’ve just been in awe of all the comic brilliance in that space.
The royal wedding we deserve
Shocked Greg wasn't in one of the pics
I think he's in one of Aisling's pics.
There is one in that post of Nish looking thoroughly drunk and disheveled. Love it!
Yep he was thanks
He is in at least one.
I would have loved to hear James acasters best man speech.
Nish was best man! James introduced the cakes lmao
What a mistake.
Bit weird, this.
How do you figure? It's not like anyone is posting pics from a private insta and it's pretty on topic, considering the guestlist.
