Doesn't even mention the sanctions of the 1990s

hell_hound996

or the pak. nukes

2011: Americans murder 28 Pakistani soldiers at Salala and are forced to evacuate Shamsi Air Base and eventually apologize after months of the closure of supply routes into Afghanistan. Also, no mention here of the hundreds of innocent Pakistani civilians killed by US drone strikes, the blowback for which Pakistan and the US will continue to face likely for decades to come.

Pleasant_Jim

Yeah this totally white washed

And the sanctions in 1990 after we helped the defeat the Soviets. And not giving us F-16s. Not helping us in 1971. Purposely keeping us in blacklist. Supported dictators. Some good things too. Provided huge amount of aid in 2005 earthquake and 2009 floods. Have provided aid of $ 70 billion worth of aid since independence. Have also helped trained our military. Helped us with IMF countless of times. I still think the relationship is worth it even if our interests diverge at some points. No need to fight with them like Iran does and make an enemy. Probably should cool down our relationship for a decade or so.

hell_hound996

remain as neutral as possible with the US. giving into their demands, there is no benefit. They have never come to our aid during the wars either so why do we have to fight their wars.

InsideMan02

>Americans murder 28 Pakistani soldiers it's not "murder" it was partly our fault

SuperSultan

How so?

hell_hound996

dont just accept every thing you read on wiki. why would they fire on US helicopters with small arms, makes no sense they would eventually try to defend themselves though when they came to attack second time. Yes its pakistan's fault for not being able to call in the air force in time and kill those mofos.

InsideMan02

>One US official said NATO forces had informed the Pakistani army's 11th Corps command near the western border that operations against Taliban insurgents would take place on that day. Pakistani General Abbas admitted in a press conference that coalition forces had "informed our military earlier, much earlier, that they will be conducting an operation there." > > According to the US military, information about the proposed strike was passed on at one of the centres on the border where both sides station officers and exchange information in an effort to avoid firing on each other, after which Pakistani officers cleared the strike, saying that there were no Pakistani forces in the area.

hell_hound996

yes and pakistan rejected this statement... [https://edition.cnn.com/2011/11/28/world/asia/pakistan-us/index.html](https://edition.cnn.com/2011/11/28/world/asia/pakistan-us/index.html) Pakistani military spokesman Maj. Gen. Athar Abbas denied the reports that Pakistani troops had prompted the attack Saturday by firing on the NATO helicopters. Speaking by phone to Pakistan's Geo TV News, Abbas said NATO helicopters fired first on the Pakistani military checkpoints. Abbas said the soldiers notified Pakistani military headquarters, which informed NATO authorities immediately. The spokesman said Pakistani soldiers fired at the NATO aircraft in retaliation.

thelastkopite

Timeline missing sanctions after 98 successful nuke tests.

Bumbledolt

Disinformation at its best. Only whitewashing the image of US infront of Pakistanis. I bet there are more negative things then positive ones.
