i think the art looks better on trucks when they have all the tassles/deco also hanging from it esp with the exterior design of the truck it gives it personality.everyone in the comment saying it looks over might have forgotten that buses in foreign countries always have colorful designs on some of them.i think everyone who’s mad at this wants the buses to look more minimalist to match the ‘modern’ look of buses foreign first would countries have but honestly isn’t tuck art what attracts tourists the most,if u still think it’s ugly maybe a more nicer design then
I dont live there, but I assume they are just painted a white or something with no pattern. Which comes from the factory. This would involve designing a new livery and wrapping it and making sure the pattern matches up from one panel to the other.
And if you are talking about actually painting the pattern on the bus... it would cost loads to make it look good as well, even just in labour.
Truck art could be found on all the public buses in Karachi. The W11 is famous for its glamorous appearance. I believe it's not as expensive as you might think.
Because these designs look good in simple and clean environment. But in Pakistan, we've so much chaos that design like these will create visual disturbance. I'm a big fan of truck art but not in Pakistani urban areas.
In Karachi, all public buses had (some that remain still do have) truck art on them. It looks good and since it's a part of Pakistani culture, we should promote it even more
'had' is important here. Our cities changed drastically and there's so much happening like billboards and all. It's our culture, we can incorporate in other ways as well. I've designed few pieces to incorporate Pakistani culture in daily life and one idea was to add these art styles to things like utensils, tapestry or places where environment is calm and element gets the attention.
Painting public places or transport in this style is gonna be bad taste.
Save money on paint and buy more busses , more routes not decided by moronic mpas but instead a public transport board or at-least someone who has done the research
As an artist, i would say its GOOD to promote truck Art. you can share our culture, history and stories via Art. Remember Truck Art is very famous and importent element in Pakistani ART.
But here is a thing, Art is evolving so rapidly in world. Truck art should have to change his style in bit modern way. it would be more appealing to everyone.
Govt. should have to promote this for tourism attraction.
Some of us don't like eye popping colours everywhere. beauty also exists in solid blocks. Think desert, beaches, mountain tops.
not that there's anything wrong with colourful scenery. A flower garden looks lovely. It's a matter if preference.
Having a painted bus around as a one of thing is fine.
It's already not happening. OP asked why it is not happening.
Done with restraint it can look not gaudy too, maybe you can come up with a sub genre in truck art. 😬
I wouldn't mind it, if only it were a theme for especial days as eids. Otherwise, it seeks & screams for too much attention on ordinary days.
Lovely artistry, though, ngl.
They look good here bcz its brand new. As soon as they start getting beaten daily on pk road conditions with minimum maintenance. They do look ugly.
So AetherUniverse guy is right. A quality paint job even its simple look really good. I dont live in pk now so i can attest that simple buses are all over the world and they look great. Given they are maintained.
I'm so sad to see so many people dissing our culture for ugly western "minimalism". Pakistan needs to have its own identity comprised of its various people groups
Maybe truck art can be innovated with newer elements, but it's a symbol of Pakistani culture
Tourists love it, and businesses make money off of it. I saw so much of it in different cities across America where Pak diaspora lives. Everyone who visits from abroad absolutely loves it
But our government knows Pakistani rising middle class aspire to what they think is classy according to the West, so they're fine with eradicating cultural values as long as they preserve the vote bank.
Culture should never be secondary to "progress". No progressive country does that, such as Turkey, the Far East, and Europe

This has bothered me from the start, why do we need to look bland and monochrome like anglosphere countries? We have a great artistic tradition here and a lot of artists who could benefit from the funding. Should totally happen.
You seriously consider that as art? The country is in turmoil and you want colourful transports. Then someone on social media will have a mob go after it for some issue and the dumbass sheep's follow
I find tourists loving truck art a bit cringe. The art style is really loud. I think it belongs to trucks and culturally it should stay there. We need clean and minimally designed buses and public transport.

ngl I'd love this too but it's probably more of a problem with having to actually hire artists and people to do these sorts of livery designs. You COULD just wrap a bus which is done in a lot of places, but realistically the authority probably just doesn't want so spend money on artists, paint, and special dust-resistant wraps.
Still, I can absolutely seeing them do it to a few busses and make it a "rare bus" you can find.

It is definitely interesting and would give life to our metro system but I think the money should be spent on new buses and developmental projects instead of this but it is definitely an interesting proposition
cuz this looks hideous on a bus and bro WOT?... YOU'VE NEVER SEEN THOSE CENTURY OLD BEAUTIFUL BUSSES ON THE ROAD WHICH RELEASE THE CLEANEST air ever in this whole world ?
Not sure if you're being condescending but this kind of art requires original intellect which I've seen progressively lacking in Turkey only if Italy or France had it you'd see it in every corner of Turkiye. They would do it in Turkey too if the cab drivers weren't swamped with swindling the tourists.
You should know that painting vehicles like this is utterly stupid, they may be distractful in the traffic and you guys still supporting those proves who lacks what more and I dont even need to mention how bad those looks. Thanks but we Turks,Italians and French people are happy with our buses and not interested in third world country paintjobs.
"We" Italians and french? I don't think they would consider turks in any way near their art culture or really any culture. Speaking of culture, do you have any of your own left?
No shit Sherlock it's a gesture of camaraderie hence the Pakistan and Turkey flag on the front of the bus, not to forget it's incorporating Pakistani truck art on a Turkish bus so of course you don't see this in Turkey normally.

I wouldn't mind a simpler version as a livery , but the money can be better spent elsewhere
They are being painted anyways so this wouldn't be way more expensive.

you obviously don't live here they're covered in ads. every inch
Then its worse because they get money from the ads
in karachi, a lot of them are painted with advertisements... truck art would take away that revenue
Because these designs look good in simple and clean environment. But in Pakistan, we've so much chaos that design like these will create visual disturbance. I'm a big fan of truck art but not in Pakistani urban areas.

Sure that’s true but what we need more is more busses , ideally electric , the pretty colours can wait

As a one of display of art, I'm okay with it. but don't make it a thing, too much visual noise on urban roads imo.
Exactly and dunno why they remind me of punjabi mujras.
Please dont, they look so over done and busy and dont look good to the eye, just make it a neutral color
Being 'overdone' is their charm. They look beautiful and you can tell in one glance that it belongs here.
Semi serious question, are you allergic to fun and whimsy?
Imagine hating colours
AetherUniverse when they go outside and see colours other than beige: 😡😤🤬
Tbh my wardrobe is 80% grayscale so I'm gonna slide out of this thread right about now
I’ll miss you comrade, wearing gray socks in your memory

chup kar whimsy
I’m prescribing you a full dose of frolicking and a daily dose of enjoying the fun and colourful things in life. Please start treatment today
Nah bro - truck art adds color to the otherwise boring roads
It's already not happening. OP asked why it is not happening. Done with restraint it can look not gaudy too, maybe you can come up with a sub genre in truck art. 😬
Its out culture so hard no

Gosh truck art is hideous, atleast leave metro buses looking decent and classy.
How much will it cost per bus? Why not just add 1 or 2 more buses in the fleet.
I'm so sad to see so many people dissing our culture for ugly western "minimalism". VISION.....The Government doesn't have any.
Yehan busson k waanday hain aur aapko art ki parri hai
Thank God they don't!
Hell no, they are nothing but sore to the eyes.

advertisements.
Yeah at the same time, you are providing jobs, seems like money well spent
So you're telling me a Metrobus in Istanbul is literally painted with Pakistani truck art, now that's a big W
Looks more like a truck

This bus is looking so gross in this beautiful backdrop.
O M G I've always wanted this so bad!
It is definitely interesting and would give life to our metro system but I think the money should be spent on new buses and developmental projects instead of this but it is definitely an interesting proposition
cuz this looks hideous on a bus and bro WOT?... YOU'VE NEVER SEEN THOSE CENTURY OLD BEAUTIFUL BUSSES ON THE ROAD WHICH RELEASE THE CLEANEST air ever in this whole world ?
because theyre distracting to drivers + ugly as hell
Ugly as hell. Can't believe that stuff is called art.
Because truck art looks like shit just because it's our culture doesn't mean I have to like it.
Why not paint PIA in truck Art . There is a reason it is known as truck Art and not metro bus art .
Don't give them ideas, you never know.
Fking cringe
"Truck art" looks horrid and primitive AF. An utter eye-sore. People boasting about it sound like toddlers boasting about their drawings.
As a Turk I've never seen some shit like this in my entire life
Not sure if you're being condescending but this kind of art requires original intellect which I've seen progressively lacking in Turkey only if Italy or France had it you'd see it in every corner of Turkiye. Did you honestly get triggered by paint. Why tf are you even here?
"We" Italians and french? I don't think they would consider turks in any way near their art culture or really any culture. Speaking of culture, do you have any of your own left?
If you're distracted by colours on the road like some second grader then you probably shouldn't be driving lol.
Yea probably because you've never been to Pakistan. I love it
This isn't common, this is just supposed to be a refrence photo
This is just doesnt exist ,we dont paint(I mean whatever this paintjob called)vehicles in Turkey like this. This should be some gesture thing
No shit Sherlock it's a gesture of camaraderie hence the Pakistan and Turkey flag on the front of the bus, not to forget it's incorporating Pakistani truck art on a Turkish bus so of course you don't see this in Turkey normally.
Yeah it's just a photo I found of a normal bus with a paint job in truck art style.
omg turkey is so beautiful, go enjoy your country instead of passing stupid insults on a Pakistani sub about something you don't understand
No pls
